You're not old NancysSummerSip. Just "mature", like a responsible adult. Wait, this is YMAM. What am I saying?!? Sometimes toomuchreality time is best spent alone at home, with a fur baby or two.

toomuchreality I'm sorry you are being disrespected by your DD. I think I would only engage with them when you feel up to it. I know you enjoy the time with your DGD's but maybe a little break from the family dynamics would be good.

Thursday and Friday were a nightmare for work. A lot of long hours and not much sleep. Thursday evening a critical process runs and another guy and I take turns monitoring it to make sure all is good. If everything runs without errors it is about an hour or less of work. The past 3 weeks we have had multiple errors. I traded with the other guy since I'm on vacation next Friday and didn't want to work Thursday evening. The other guy is still relatively new to the team and was just having his 2nd on call week so he asked for a phone a friend in case he had some issues he was unsure about.
So I end up working until about 10pm Thursday night on the critical process, get to bed finally a little before 11. At 2:30am new guy calls and we have an issue. We worked on it for two hours before deciding we needed to wait and get more expert help. The most knowledgeable guy wasn't answering his phone. Friday was just non-stop issues and last night I crashed. Today is going to be a get the house in order day, it needs it. I also need to see if I can track down an elusive Girl Scout and replace the box of cookies that was in the freezer to take on the trip with Mom next week. The cookie finder hasn't been very accurate for our area.

And it is official at Midnight -- I am on Medicare. I think that makes me officially Old. If you are officially old, I am official ancient.

It's causing you too much distress at the moment. You are being disrespected. When I babysat by great niece when she was about 3, she started throwing tantrums. After way too many in one day, I told her mom as long as she threw tantrums, I couldn't babysit all day for her. So we took a break. About 6 weeks later I get a call and her mom said she wanted to talk to me. GN told me she missed me and she would try really hard to be good. She did a pretty good job of it because I never again asked for a break.

I am back peeps. Good day at the pool today. Some rain, but no complaints. toomuchreality I think a break is a good thing. You raised the kids the best you could. They need to show respect to you. If "princess" needs a crown, well....your EE friends can sure as heck provide one. Sometimes, it's a shame they get too old to spank.

Wait! There's a cookie finder? I missed out on GS cookies this year. I wasn't too worried because I always see them at the grocery stores, after order taking time. But this year, I haven't seen even one! Sad.😥 DD2 has offered me a box of thin mints, a few times. So although I appreciate it, I've not taken any. I remember the old thin mints. They were my favorite. The new thin mints, they're just okay, IMO. I'm always disappointed when I eat one. And my waistline doesn't need things I don't enjoy. I didn't watch my GDs this last week, because DD chose to watch her husband's niece and nephews. Her choice, not mine. She didn't give me any grief about it, but she did tell me it was better having them there, because they played and didn't interrupt her, as much. I can understand that. But who is cleaning up after 5 kids? That has been our sticking point. And I don't like being around them, because no one makes them behave. That makes me insane. DD text me today, in a panic, wondering if I'm coming tomorrow. I'm letting her think on that for awhile. If/when I do go back, I won't be doing their housework for them, like I have been. They need to learn to appreciate the things I do for them. And not treat me like hired help. I won't put up with that. We'll see how this week goes. I better feel like a queen, when I'm there, or it will be over. My princess 👸 forgets that I'm the queen. 👑 They might have more money, but I don't need a nanny and a maid. I hate going through this every couple months with them.

I was able to get the girl scout cookies this morning and they are now safely back in the freezer for next weekend. I got quite a bit done around the house and then actually cooked dinner, with a vegetable. When I was sick I didn't cook a whole lot and just kind of grazed or picked up fast food. Tonight I fixed chicken enchiladas and asparagus. There is enough left over for a few more meals.

Thanks for the link!
OMG, they're going to sell outside a mortuary?! That seems a bit on the unusual side, to me.
I'm so glad I just got paid!

Thanks for the food. I'm hungry and need to go grocery shopping. All this snow we keep getting doesn't help my depression, or motivation to go out and get any.

I am back --- a good meet, but very tiring. Got next weekend off, then two meets in a row. Dinner is a mix of what I have on hand (turkey meatballs and peas) and what I got at Wal Mart (potatoes and gravy). Wal Mart was busy; I am guessing for Easter. I saw a lot of candy leaving the store. I got DH his white chocolate bunny (yeah, I don't get white chocolate either). I will make matzoh brei next weekend. It is a once-a-year treat for sure. Lots of eggs and onions. And mine...all mine.

Good Evening Kids! Well, we did it (sort of). This Winter has been declared the 3rd snowiest EVER on record for this part of the country. And it's not over yet, as one more storm is supposed to arrive later this week. The blessing in all of this is that this time of year snow melts quickly. It's been melting so fast today that you can hear constant dripping outside, like we're getting rain. It won't all be gone by the weekend, but I'm hoping at least the most recent snowfall will be gone by then (8 inches). There's still plenty of snow down by the street.

The kids ended up coming over unexpectedly yesterday. DSIL wanted to watch the Iowa vs LSU basketball game. DD brought over some white chicken chili and corn bread for lunch. It was so good.

And it is official at Midnight -- I am on Medicare. I think that makes me officially Old. late to this post but you are just a babe in my eyes!! I remember when my Medicare card arrived my first thought was Damn I'm surprised I made it to 65. Now I'm surprised I've made it to - never mind I can't find the numbers on my keypad!!!!!

Good Morning Kids! Yup, it's a Monday. I got some sad (to me) news today. I haven't been at Whole Foods in a long time, as there isn't one close to our house, and I learned that they're no longer selling their homemade gelato. It was the BEST! I can only guess they stopped making it during the pandemic because they used to give out free samples.

I slept until 9:15 this morning. I knew I was tired all day yesterday, but 9:15 is not like me.
I called in a prescription last night, after the pharmacy was closed. Said it would be ready by 3 PM tomorrow. The text has already come that it's ready. So I will run into town.
I also have a try before you buy pair of shoes to return to Amazon. I ordered two pair on that program. One fits wonderfully and the other doesn't. So that pair goes back.

The nearest Whole Foods to us is very good, but not close enough for me to visit more than once or twice a year. Things have been crazy, so I haven't stopped by in over a year. They sold so much gelato here that I thought that section would be back, but apparently not. Maybe I should write corporate. They have the best-looking produce in a 20-mile radius here. They are pricey, but other than that worth visiting once in awhile. Plus, they sell types of flour that I can't buy anywhere else, besides online.

I think I've only been to Whole Foods maybe half a dozen times. They're not in a convenient location and their available parking is terrible. But I love gelato. I just didn't know they had it. It will be worth going once in awhile, if it's good. I'll have to check it out.
I think it would be worth contacting them/corp, to let them know you'd like them to start carrying it again. I would.

Good Afternoon Kids! I'm supposed to get my hair trimmed this afternoon. But, am also keeping an eye on the weather, as we're supposed to get rain or a rain/snow mix.
Trying to prep for Easter the best I can, while working around the weather forecast.

I miss Whole Foods. That's where I did a lot of shopping when I lived in Boulder. I don't even know if one exists in Iowa.
Our Tornado warning has been downgraded to a severe thunderstorm warning.

We had a change in the weather pattern, so a lot of the bad weather missed us completely. We might get some rain tonight, but the rain here quit hours ago, and the sNOw is North of us, so all is well. TheOtherMe, you've had enough severe weather for awhile, so I hope things will calm down there. How are things in your neck of the woods, toomuchreality?

Looks like this weekend will be rainy all weekend at the coast. That is fine with me. I'm tired and if we just sit in the hotel room all weekend and watch the ocean out the window that is okay.

OMG It's STILL SNOWING! They have been telling people all week, throughout the day, not to drive, if you don't have to. And to put off driving into work in the morning, day after day, because the roads are so bad and it's still snowing every time they say it. The roads up to the ski resorts have been closed, due to avalanches and huge slides, along with the snow. The Great Salt Lake has risen 3 ft already this winter and that's a HUGE area! (I just heard that on the news.) And they've been saying all the reservoirs should be full again, this year. I'm so glad I got new tires, right before the first snow storm. But I'm okay. I stayed home today, other than driving a few blocks, to pick up a much needed prescription. I hope it isn't as bad in the morning, as they're expecting. But with the snow and below freezing temperatures, it probably will.
You all stay safe, in whatever way you need to, for your area. Including those in California, who had an earthquake today. (@nastywoman)

It did rain last night, but not severe storms. It's foggy and drizzly this morning. While I would love some sunshine, that is better than rain.
Saying next "chance" for severe weather here is Friday. It does look this morning like it's moving east so everyone is not out of the woods.
