I woke up after 11 and am late putting dinner in the crockpot.
Tea is seeping and I am waiting on Amazon for my new travel purse and wallet that I ordered. It will help me pare down what I really need and is a very anti theft, along with being a pretty purple so, easy to recognize when traveling.

Good Morning Kids! And good grief! I woke up & ended up with another back spasm AGAIN. The storm heading our way must be a BEAST. YIKES! That doesn't sound good. It's been raining here today. But not hard. It's melting the snow, really fast. The clouds are really low and dense, so no sunlight is coming through and it's kind of hard to see, when you're driving. As I drove to DD2's today, I could see the car in front of me, on the highway. But I could only just barely see the giant delivery truck in front of that car. When I did see it, I got a little anxious, because I didn't realize anyone was there/ that close. Hopefully, things will be clearer, when I drive home. If the weather gets worse (more foggy), I will probably ask if I can spend the night and go home in the morning. It doesn't make sense to push it and possibly get in an accident, if I don't have to. DGD2 is taking her afternoon nap. DD2 and her husband have gone to pick up DGD1 from preschool. Then they're going to Costco on the way home. I've done their dishes and put some laundry away. Now I'm just sitting on the couch, while DGD2 sleeps. It's boring, but it is better than someone crying.

Remember that bi-fold door I have, that fell off, back in December 2022? Then it was put back up and fell off again. Then a new door that doesn't match was eventually put up, so I spoke to the manager and showed her pictures... I've still been waiting for them to do something about it, even after stopping by the office a few times, about it. Nothing has been done. I created a maintenance request for it about a month ago, online. Which was canceled, by the maintenance supervisor, without contacting me. Today, I sent a text message inquiring if it was ever going to actually be done. Stating I thought it was going to be done a month ago. I got a reply, saying the maintenance assistant guy will come tomorrow, by 2pm. Great! I talked to the manager, when I got home from DD2's. She told me they will be replacing both doors, because they can't get one that matches my existing door. That's fine by me. I just want it done. Obviously, the maintenance supervisor is still upset with me, for turning him in to upper management, for parking behind my garage. Oh, well.
What a pain in the butt! I'd like to move from this place. DD1 has a condo in a much better area, we have talked about me moving to. But I can't afford her house payment and condo fees. So recently, she talked to me about applying for government help, to pay the difference. We thought we had it figured out, so it would be a win-win, for both of us. But then I found out that there's a minimum of a 3yr waiting list, if not longer. Ugh.

If nothing better pops up in the meantime, at least you'll have something to look forward to. Your maintenance people obviously aren't doing the job they're paid to do, which would frustrate me too.

I have been thinking the same thing. Putting an application in is not a commitment to anything and no one (really) will even know I did, unless I tell them. The hard part will be the timing of me getting to the top of the list, at the same time DD1's condo is available and has met the needed qualifications. But it for sure won't happen, if I don't apply. So I'll get that done asap. Just thinking about it, gives me something to look forward to. Thanks for your thoughts!

toomuchreality What is the harm at getting on the list? If you got to the top and condo was not available I wonder if you could remain near the top until the condo is available.

I guess we'll find out. We won't know, if we don't try. I really hope we can make it work. They have tennant whose lease ends in May, I think. So we were hoping to get everything done and get me moved in right away. It sounded attractive to all of us. Then we got the news about the waiting list, even if you have matched up with a property owner, so it put a damper on things. We're trying to see if there's another way to do it, sooner, with the same basic end result. We'll see. 🤞🤞🤞

Good Morning Kids! So far we've gotten all rain, which means I need to "towel off" the dogs whenever they go outside. But, the temps are supposed to drop, so eventually this will all be snow. Only time will tell how much we'll end up with. I agree toomuchreality that when you reach the top of the list, you don't have to take it. Having options is always good. I don't have any big plans today, as I thought all of the snow would keep me at home. Still, once this rain freezes, the roads will be no good anyway. But driving through heavy, wet snow is always a royal pain. We're supposed to have "melting weather" all of next week, and I can't wait...

I hope your weather (and roads/driving) will be better than you are anticipating, during the coming weeks. And that your days are easy. I feel like we all could use a general break, from the many difficulties of life, right now. Is it just me, or do others also feel like life has been throwing curves at most all the posters here, lately?

We're getting sort of a rain/snow mix right now, which is NOT cool, because the last time I let the dogs out I can already tell the backyard is icing up.

Didn't the bad weather go on for what seemed like forever, last year? Is that a normal, yearly thing, in your area? DD2's big puppy does not like cold, snowy, or wet weather, at all. So he has been sneaking to their basement (kids playroom, usually) and pooping on the carpet. Or when they let him out, he stays on the covered deck and goes to the bathroom. Grrrr.... It is not pleasant at all. Around 6PM yesterday, DGD2 and I went to the playroom to play. She found a couple of big poops, right off the bat and started screaming. I cleaned up the bigger ones, but some were stuck to the carpet, so left them and went upstairs and told DsonIL, it was there and that I left it. (Required more effort than I was willing to apply, for said task. Especially since it isn't my dog.) He was in the process of cleaning the deck, so was not pleased, but said he'd take care of it. I hope he did. He's ready to get rid of both puppies, I think. Although they're cute, I would be too. But I wouldn't have gotten them to begin with. I'm too old to want, or train a new puppy. I would have gotten another ferret, back in 2017, if I wanted to go through all that. Not my puppies. Not my dog show! Nope. Nope. Nope!

We do normally get a couple of blizzards in March, but it's usually getting warmer, and the snow melts quickly. Since the temps are colder, the snow is staying. This getting snow every 3 days or so is getting quite old. Our reprieve is that we're supposed to finally be getting temps in the 40's next week, but again we're forecast to get snow at the very end of the week, and we've still got a lot of snow to melt. The only good news is that we were considered a "drought area" last year, but now the officlal announcement has come that we're no longer in a drought. Ya think?

Even though we received more snow pack this year, then we've had in any of the last 10 yrs, they're still saying we're in a drought!
We live in a desert. Do they expect swamp land? I'm really tired of hearing them harp about the drought and saving water. It's the same old thing, non stop. I think people stop listening to them, after a while. And disregard what they say.

It's cold and windy and apparently my mail box is iced up because the key didn't even turn and I checked several times to make sure it was the right key in the right box. The area in front of the boxes was a sheet of ice.

I actually woke up around 6:30 AM!
I had coffee before 7!
Thinking about going to the coast for the day. But I also need to do my tax prep for monday. I think I will hold off until after monday and go next week during the week so not as much traffic.
I am going to hunker down and get everything for taxes in my box and not worry about it over the weekend. Photos need to be printed out so I can walk over the the drug store and do that this morning. Exercise and marking off a task that needs to be done.
It's supposed to be in the 50's so that will be a pleasant walk.

Good Morning Kids! Happy St. Patrick's Day! It is a chilly 10 degrees here right now (it should be 40 degrees, if this month was "normal") but at least the sun is out.

Wow thought it was bad here, this morning. But we were 30°. Our problem, the last few days, has been the wind blowing really hard and the wind is bitter cold. I don't enjoy that, at all.

Things had melted enough because the sun shines right on that area that I was able to get my mail.

Good evening my thoroughly chilled peeps! I have an early race tomorrow -- 90 minute drive to a 7 a.m. start. Fortunately, the roads are all expressways. I am packed up and ready, had a light dinner and will leave here by 3:30 a.m.

I ended up spending the afternoon in bed, again. Every other Thursday I have to monitor a process for work, if there are no errors it takes around an hour. Last night there were multiple errors and I ended up being logged on for over three hours.
I'm still having issues fighting this cold and the past couple of days have been fighting sinus pain. Fortunately my 40 hours were in at 11am and my boss had no issue with me leaving. I had planned to do some light housework but instead decided to take a nap and slept for almost 6 hours. I do feel better and my sinus's have loosened up some. Going to take another round of medication and head back to bed.

I am back, peeps. Long drive (Google was right -- it was exactly 90 minutes, but no traffic issues). Finished third in my age group for a 7K race, and that is it for this age group; I age up to the next group for my next race. Stopped and had breakfast with a friend, then hit Wal Mart. Found everything but my electric toothbrush head replacements. Laundry is running. Dinner is turkey burgers. And I am making a banana bread for breakfast tomorrow, since I have two overripe bananas that need a home.

I hope you feel better soon. I just woke up and I'm not even sick! (I'm not sure I'm going to to stay awake. Haha)

Congrats on your race! And on finding a home for your bananas. 😁

Feeling sad that I am not able to attend my nephew's wedding this evening.
I know they had hoped for a nice, spring day but it's cold and windy.
