The storm has arrived here. It's been raining for several hours. My sump pump is working. It's supposed to turn to snow at some point.
I worked hard on the Christmas cards yesterday. Today I couldn't bring myself to look at them. Hopefully, I get them finished over the weekend.
I did order myself a Christmas centerpiece from the local florist. This will be a huge test for these two cats. They inspect all of the Christmas decorations at least once a day. I don't think they will be able to resist this when it is delivered on Monday. She's here in town and delivers for free. I like doing business with her because she is only doing contactless delivery. She calls when she is on her way. If you don't answer, she doesn't deliver.

Good Morning Kids! We did get snow overnight, but it's hard to tell how much, since DH ran the snow blower before leaving for work, leaving piles on either side of the driveway and sidewalk.
I had too many interruptions yesterday, so with the sun shining, I need to get working on those Christmas cards. Later...

Today is supposed to be another very windy day so I got out early and got my grocery shopping done. The rest of the day will be devoted to cleaning and unpacking. I need to find my Christmas cards before I can work on them. Yesterday was a wild day for both DD and me. Oldest grandson tripped and fell while playing and cracked his chin open. He now has 4 stitches. When I saw him yesterday afternoon he was just happy laying on mama's bed and watching TV. I went and picked up my trailer my DD's place. I knew that DSIL was done with it being up there and wanted it gone. Because it had been there so long I desperately need to empty the holding tanks. To make a long story short I ended up hosing down the inside of the trailer trying to add extra water to the toilet holding tank so that it would get everything flushed out good. I had over an inch of water in the bathroom. This was all clean water from a hose that had way more pressure than I was expecting. It also hosed down one of the back bunks.
I soaked up as much water as I could and then brought the mattress etc in from the bunk and it is drying in the house. In the trailer I propped open the bathroom door and then put a space heater in trailer pointed towards the bathroom to try and get everything dried out. The whole trailer ordeal took 3 hours yesterday, but hopefully it is mostly winterized. I didn't add anti-freeze to the pipes which I probably should. If I decide to do that I would have it professionally done just to make sure I don't screw it up.

How awful, Sharon! Do you have a shop vac to really suck out as much of the moisture as possible? Don't want you getting any mold inside that trailer.

Had a wonderful day today. I went to church and found the people to be friendly and welcoming and will definitely be going back. I want to get into activities and meet people so that I'm not reliant on DD and her family for all my activities. The weather was gorgeous today so after church I was trimming some bushes out by the road that made it difficult to see for pulling out of the driveway and was just doing some in general puttering around and enjoying the beautiful day. DD and family unexpectedly stopped by. DD had a couple of Santa presents tucked back in the back of her car to store in the trailer. DGD and I decorated one of the trees. We were also walking the property again looking at what needed to be done. There is a lot of work that needs to be done to get this place back in shape.

Good Morning Kids! I've hardly been online at all, as I'm working on Christmas cards. I've still got a long way to go. Yes, we send out way too many cards.

There is no such thing as sending out too many Christmas cards. The last third of mine went out today. I usually get 2 Christmas cards every year. 1 from DD2 and 1 from my 2nd oldest sister. I have received them both, but because my sister annoyed me a LOT last fall, being holier than thou (all our lives), I have no intrest, or desire, to even open hers. Sad.

(Don't know how long you've been here, but I mentioned here that I got scolded one year by someone because I'd sent out cards with glitter on them. Apparently, it's bad for the environment. Since I often order my cards online, I often don't know until they arrive if they have glitter, or are just "shiny".)

Since I no longer send Christmas cards, it doesn't bother me not to receive them. I think my DD2 and sister are the only 2 people I know, in real life, that send Christmas cards, to be honest. And I have chosen to cut down on my "friends", after taking a hard look at the give/receive part of our friendships. So I'm okay. But I do think it's sad that my sister has had that kind of impact on our relationship. It's Unfortunate. As for glitter, it's not something I have used very often, but I love it! (Sorry, if that bothers anyone.) If we're getting technical, everything is bad for the environment, somehow, in my opinion. So enjoy your Christmas cards, glitter and all!

A friends son finally graduated from college after many starts and finishes. Problem was he graduated in December. I finally found a graduation card enclosed gift card and note. In the note I told him if he decided to aim for higher degree could he please graduate in summer. Did he know how difficult it was to find graduation card in December? He sent me a thank you note and said he would definitely try for summer graduation. He hoped the next card he got from me had no glitter! Said it took some explaining to his girl friend where the glitter on his clothes came from! So glitter on cards brings a smile to my face. Also have known this “kid” since before he was born

The grandkids are on their way over to have dinner with Grandma. DD and DSIL are going on a date tonight. They need some time together, just the two of them.

Date time is something my family in Toronto is in desperate need of.
That is why I think they will let me come visit in the spring/early summer. While Toddler will still go to daycare, I can care for him while they go out.
I also told them there will be no more sister trips. DN1 asked why and I told him that the trip seemed to go well, with the exception of her not paying for half the gas and tolls to get there. However, she regressed immediately to her behavior of not bothering to call me or contact me once I was home. That makes me feel used. He said he understood.
She did invite me to Thanksgiving at 3:30 PM on Thanksgiving afternoon. I expect her to do the same on Christmas. This time I will not respond. That was a passive aggressive non-invitation and I will not give her whatever satisfaction she wanted.

Hi Everyone!
Running in for hellos and getting a hot apple cider for the road. Paperwork is backing up as I type.
Take care and am glad to read that most everyone is doing well after the storms.
Snap~

I did the kickboxing...and the rest of the circuit, too. Turns out I cannot jump rope. Never really could. But it's OK -- you can skip rope, rather than jump, as your first station workout. I nailed everything else. Then I think it nailed me. I don't feel too bad yet.

Good Morning Kids! We got another dusting of sNOw overnight. Once again, I'm hitting the Christmas cards hard. DD is planning to be here for dinner tonight, and just maybe we'll get some ornaments on our Christmas tree (we've been turning on the lights DH put on it for days now). Too much still to do. I'm late, I'm late, I'm late....

Hello peeps! Rainy morning but decent now. I did some running around, including picking up fish for dinner. I am thawing butter to make some cookie dough (it has to sit in the fridge overnight and I will bake tomorrow when I get back from my race). Other baking will commence this week, and I am off next Friday to do the baking for the holiday dinner Saturday.

My car is still in the shop. There doesn't seem to be any rush to figure out what is wrong or to get it repaired. I will call again tomorrow afternoon if I haven't heard anything. DD let me borrow her car for this weekend so I did a large grocery shopping this morning. My tree also doesn't have any ornaments on it. I did start cards yesterday but it was slow going. Presents aren't wrapped. Our forecast keeps changing for tomorrow. It has been everywhere from 3 inches of snow to rain and just about everything in between. Guess I will just wait and see what weather shows up tomorrow

Finally I just ended up picking one thing to get done. Yesterday I kept farting around getting nothing done because I just wanted to sit and watch TV. Finally I told myself I could sit and watch TV but I had to wrap presents while doing so. The presents are now wrapped all except the one that isn't here yet. I'm also calling my Christmas cards done. Most of them I just signed my name and wrote my new address inside. A few people got a short pre-printed letter. It is, what it is, and I will drop them in the mail on the way to church today.

Peeps, I had no idea I could be this tired. What a morning. Almost did not make the race. Drove down on I95 in heavy rain, but took it slow and careful. I was about 2/3 of the way there when I pickup truck in front of me lost control, spun, slammed the concrete median wall and slid across the interstate in front of me. Fortunately, I saw it coming, took my foot off the gas, did not hit the brakes, but I did hit my flashers to warn people behind me.
I did stop to make sure the people inside were OK (they were) and called 911 for them. I did get to the race, though I did cut it a bit closer than I would have liked.

Good Afternoon Kids! I did make it to church this morning, and delivered some of my Christmas cards while there. I discovered one of those small grocery stores near me is selling some of my favorite time-consuming-to-make Scandinavian cookies. Even though they're expensive, I just might have to pick up some between now & Thursday. Speedy's nails are getting long, again. And, of course, doesn't like having his feet touched, so I made an appointment to get those nails trimmed this week. First dog I've owned who gets nails like a cat (sharp!). Glad you weren't hurt, NancysSummerSip, and it was nice of you to stop & help.

We are supposed to get some snow or freezing rain this afternoon and overnight. Before church I was able to move the remaining boxes around enough that DD's car now fits in my garage. My car is longer so not sure if it will fit on that side of the garage. We are concerned about this set of built in cabinets. Guess we will find out if my car ever gets out of the shop.

The Family Dollar stores have begun to spring up in our community. Decided to stop at one when an ad in the Sunday paper caught my eye. Unfortunately, my purchase didn't ring up properly, and the cashier didn't know how to fix it. Guess I won't be back anytime soon.
Yes, we're having a Monday here. The only thing that went right today was we got Speedy's nails trimmed, although he showed his attitude by pooping on the sidewalk immediately when he left the building. It's a good thing he's cute.
