Good Afternoon Kids! Well, my contractor DID show up today, and now the electrical box in the garage is put back together. Tomorrow, he plans to be back to repaint a couple of areas, and deal with some minor issues. Is it the weekend yet?

Hello peeps! I think one of you sent Murphy to our house. The bad news: our A/C system finally quit last Sunday. The good news: nice weather all this week, and the new one was installed today. The bad news: price tag for both external unit and the air handler was $7500. Good news: we knew this was coming and budgeted for it. So Murphy brought Mildred and balanced things out a little. I am heading to a live road race tomorrow, then a stop at a gourmet shop for some things, then breakfast with a friend I have not seen since December. It will be a good day tomorrow. Oh, and DH gets his second COVID shot Monday. And I just signed up for mine through the health care district, since the age was dropped to 60.

Hi Kids! Well, once again the contractor didn't show up, so most of this week has been wasted waiting for him. So, obviously in an attempt to get something done (I never begin big projects while someone is working on my house--too many interruptions), I said I didn't want him to come by tomorrow. I've got things to try & get done...

Hello peeps! Race was good, but crowded (I stayed away from the starting corral until it was time to go out, and kept the mask on until I got past the starting line, then put a fresh one on at the finish). Did not partake of the free green beer, but found a restroom, tidied up and did my gourmet shopping, then met my friend for breakfast. Fabulous time!
We tried something called doughssaints; croissant dough meets a doughnut, filled with chocolate, deep-fried and topped with powdered sugar. Good thing they were small; they should be illegal.
I am making up for it with chicken tonight.

Good Morning Kids! Well, @missrigby, we might get a piece of the storm tomorrow. Like all developing sNOwstorms, it just depends which way the wind blows. Nothing unusual to get a blizzard in March if we DO get significant snow, so we'll just stock the pantry & hunker down.

We headed to the plant store for shrubs and vegetable plants, plus topsoil. My veggies are in, but the shrubs will go in later. There is some old ground cover to dig up, and that stuff has some serious roots! I got it loosened up, but DH will have to pull it back and I will use a crowbar to get the rest out. Sheesh, I think those roots go to the center of the earth! Dinner will be a very worthy spaghetti and (ground turkey) meat sauce.

Today was my cousins funeral. It was hard being so close to my Dad's passing. I don't know how the funeral home was allowed to have that many people in the building for the service, it was packed. Everyone was wearing a mask but that was definitely the most people I have been around in a year. I'm just worn out tired and even kind of achy.

Good Morning Kids! Since yesterday was "Pi" Day, our local grocery store was selling full-sized pies for $3.14, one to a customer. So, I had pie for breakfast. Sharon, you've been pushing yourself so hard. It's time to take a break. Others need to step up & take care of you.

I've been trying to decide whether to ask the doctor to release me back to work. I want the human contact, never thought I would want to attend a meeting. Since I am still on the fence about it I haven't contacted her.
Today will be our last nice day for while, tomorrow and Friday are supposed to be rainy and then the weekend is showery.

Sharon Do not, repeat, do NOT! ask the doc to release you early. Do too much too soon and you'll be sorry for a long, long time. Take it easy. Find something to keep you occupied. I'm old, and I know stuff.

Good Afternoon Kids! And Sharon, I second the motion that you should NOT push yourself to get back to work early. It can bite you in the butt bigtime, and set you back further than if you would've waited the original amount of time off from work. I know you're a great employee, but now is not the time to prove it. (I've seen too many people end up hurting themselves, and ending up needing more surgery, or more therapy, or more time at home.) Take advantage of this time, and just sleep in.

I just asked the doctor if I could go back 1 week early. If I were to go back as scheduled and with the way the pay periods align I would be paid for 4 days in April mid-month and then wouldn't get a full check until the first week of May. The first paycheck I will also have to "payback" what they have covered for insurance contributions etc while I have been out. If I can go back a week earlier then I can get something closer to a full paycheck mid-month. I have already talked with my boss regarding the fact that I am going to want to take some PTO when the baby arrives sometime around the beginning of April. The doctor won't be back to her office in my town until next Tuesday so we shall see.

How about half days for that one week? Really. You won't know how you feel until you actually try it, and working full days could just do you in.

Since I work from home if I needed to split my shifts and rest mid-day that would be acceptable. As it is I have gotten up and gotten dressed every day and even gone for walks on the days that it was nice. I know that I have to build up my strength and stamina. Based on what other people have told me I actually expect that it will take months before my energy level returns to what it was pre-surgery. I have a doctors appt on the 30th and I suspect that next week they will tell me that this will be discussed at the appt on the 30th.

UGH no sleep for me last night. I know that claims process every Thursday early evening so I checked the portal last night since I have so many claims rolling through at the moment. They denied my huge hospital claim and of course the portal gives a very vague reason so today begins the process of trying to get that resolved. Then of course I'm worrying about what if it can't be resolved how will I pay a medical bill of over $56,000. I suspect what caused the denial is the fact I left the hospital before noon. There wasn't a room charge but a line item for observation. I also remember when they were wheeling me out one of the staff said something about me leaving before noon.

Sharon Sorry about the lack of sleep. Here's to hoping one phone call will correct the issue and you can take a nap this afternoon.

Happy Friday Muffins!!!
Well Snowmageddon lived up to it's name. It is now the 4th largest sNOwstorm in history here. I got much more in my area than was predicted. There were 3 foot drifts in my driveway. Another storm expected Sunday night but not quite that much.
Stay safe and healthy!
Have a Fantastic Weekend!!!

Good Afternoon Kids! No contractor again today, so I took the puppy in to get his nails trimmed. It amazes me how quickly his nails grow, but they groomer assures me when he's an adult the nails will slow down. Sorry to hear about all of the sNOw, Icelandic Woman. I hope you get a quick thaw. We did!

Hello my fine Friday peeps! Sharon, I hope you are getting more rest and less worry. You have a new grandbaby coming (?) and I know you will be full speed ahead at that point. Got my first COVID shot Wednesday. My arm still hurts a bit, and I was feeling a bit cranky for a day after, but other than that, I was pretty grateful to get in line for it. Just mostly a training weekend -- I have a swim meet next week and a 10K two weeks after that, so plenty to do. I want to add a bit more to my vegetable garden, so I will be out early tomorrow.

Hello Super Saturday peeps!
Well, it has been a morning, I tell ya. Lot of small incidents and accidents makes a person wonder just what in da heck is up with the day. But the weather is perfect, so it is not all bad. I have a list for Walmart and Home Depot; I planned to do both tomorrow, but may change my mind and do them today, since I need to mow the lawn and wash my car as well.
I am making crab cakes for DH and sauteing scallops for myself. Both served with pappardelle and pesto.

Yesterday I spent about 45 minutes calling on my huge medical bill, most of that time was on hold. My insurance has supposedly sent the hospital 2 faxes wanting an itemized bill. They have heard from the hospital. Then I called the hospital and told them to send an itemized bill. We shall see next week if there is any movement on this.

OK....I knew the day was wonky but now Murphy has taken over...my niece and her BF both have COVID. From merely testing positive to sick in 48 hours. Coughs, body aches, fever, chills...the whole gamut. He feels bad because he probably picked it up at work; she's mad at him because she is such a clean freak...kids, there's no point in being pissed off. You are stuck with each other for 14 days, at least. They have called their doctors. Aside from the usual fluids, rest and OTC pain meds, there isn't much else they can do.

Well carp! Just found out my county has the highest number of Covid cases, in percentage, for the population. I can guess why--we've got too many anti-maskers, or people who just won't wear them properly at the stores. The only thing working in our favor is that the "death count" has been higher in other counties. Still though... Today was supposed to be the "nice" day this weekend. However, our high winds makes it feel really cold, even though the temp here is actually warm. And, my contractor bailed on me once again. If I didn't have so much to do, I'd probably just go back to bed.
