I had a long day of painting yesterday then got caught up listening to the police scanner during the protests at the capital building and then spilling into the downtown area. We don't usually have those types of protests, Portland the larger city to the North does.

Good Morning Kids! Things are calming down here, although there were a number of arrests overnight. DD's work location is closed today, as a safety precaution.
The weather is simply beautiful this morning, with the highs supposed to hit the low 80's. DH got a lot of the garden in over the weekend. We got most of the vegetables we wanted, but the selection of flowers isn't as big as usual, but we were warned that garden centers would be short on plants this year, as the priority for truckers is getting food shipped, and I understand, so I'm planting petunias out front this year, instead of my favorite New Guinea impatiens.

Evening peeps. I spend some time cleaning up my resume and getting it to look tidy. It isn't short but then again, I have forty years of work experience.
We had protests all around us, including one that closed the interstate. Oh, and idiot boss thinks we need to consider coming back to the office because governor thinks it's time. I posted my reaction to this on the Anonymous board.

Beautiful day today and I need to get crackin. Took the day off today to paint so need to get out there before it gets too hot. Of course this weekends forecast is for rain. I'm never going to get this house painted if it rains every weekend.

Good Morning Kids! We've got an early heat wave here in the Midwest. We're going to have to water our new garden like crazy so it doesn't burn, and we've got hit-or-miss thunderstorms to look forward to all week long.

Going into the office today.

Good Morning Kids! We got some nasty storms in our state yesterday, including tornadoes in the southern part of the state, but all we got here was wind & rain. The sun is out this morning, and it looks like it'll be a nice, although warmer-than-average day.

Hello everyone!
Things have been a bit crazy for me but starting to level out. Tonight is the finale on my great painting adventure for 2020! I went from painting the kitchen walls (due to remodel) to painting the ceilings than the walls in the DR, LR and hallway and now finally I am on the last of the hallway. I have been working on this since late Feb/early March and am ready to just be done.
So I am sneaking in to grab a Cuppa and I really want a scone but haven't been able to bake yet so I am hoping to work on that next week.
Toodles for now and have a good day.

Peeps, we are underwater again. Worse than two weeks ago, with more rain coming. Who has custody of the ark?

Oh my word, NancysSummerSip! And, hurricane season hasn't even gotten rolling yet. Hopefully you'll have plenty of sunshine in your forecast for the rest of the week.

Good Afternoon Kids! Just wasted 4 1/2 hours of my life at the DMV, trying to get "legal" to drive again here, but at least I passed the written test. Without studying! Also got DS his state identification card, and both of us are now registered to vote.

Dang, it peeps. There is rain and destructive rain. Another 7 inches in the last three hours. Nowhere for it to go. Backyard and street are underwater completely. House is fine. But more is coming this weekend, thanks to TS Cristobal.

I just saw the forecast, NancysSummerSip, and immediately thought of you. It's like the lower 2/3 of Florida is totally getting flooded. Are you & your DH going to be o.k., or should you consider heading to higher ground?

Are you & your DH going to be o.k., or should you consider heading to higher ground? We are higher ground, actually -- house is on a built-up area, which is why we are not flooded inside the house. The problem is that this is the second straight week of rain. It has stopped for now, and no more like it is really expected, though we will get some tomorrow and Sunday as Cristobal heads into the gulf. Once it makes landfall Monday, we will dry out. But it will be weeks before all the water goes down. Our drainage systems cannot handle the water.

It's raining, it's pouring The heavier rain is expected this afternoon along with possible thundershowers. I have a few errands to do and then should be doing some inside painting. DD may stop in some this afternoon, it depended on whether or not DSIL was working today. With the amount of rain we are having I'm going to guess he gets the day off.

Well, no rain so far today...yet. I may get out back to clean up the yard a bit later, if the water level keeps going down. It is really bad just north of us, with many side streets blocked due to high water.
I ran errands between errands this morning, it seems. I picked up the meal deal at Fresh Market, a chicken stir fry dinner kit -- it is enough for us to have four meals. We will have it tonight.

Got outside and DH and I did some yardwork. A lot left, and part of the yard is still underwater. But the street is dry at least. I feel better just getting something done and cleaned up.
I stopped at the local bagel shop today to get some bagels for breakfast tomorrow. With every other table roped off, I do wonder where the old guys' club will meet for daily coffee and kibitzing now. I hope they are all doing OK. I guess they can sit socially distant and just holler at each other. Heck, they were hollering at each other pre-virus, anyway.

My niece and her husband got some spectacular video of those tornadoes in downtown Orlando, then hid in their bathroom with the dogs and cats. When they emerged, their house was fine. Two blocks away was serious destruction. If you were watching the Weather Channel this morning and saw the photos from the Conway/Lake Margaret area of Orlando, that is where they live.

NancysSummerSip brunch looks good. I could use a good breakfast this morning as I was up way too late last night. This morning I work up with a headache and am being lazy, it feels good to be lazy once in a while.
