Morning peeps. Flash floods around for the majority of the day. Not sure if we will be swimming at the pool later or not. I did get to walk this morning, at least.

Me, too. I just checked the radar. Mostly offshore now, but looks like it will continue for awhile. My lane reservation is for later this afternoon. Heck, at least sunblock won't be an issue.

Good Evening Kids! We made it. Remember how I was saying how good the driving weather was? Georgia had some very hard downpours as I was driving through the middle of the state. NancysSummerSip, how is the weather there? Do we need to send you a boat? Hope all is well.

Going to be a long day. I woke up over an hour early because my arm was so sound asleep it hurt. The normal shaking it, changing positions etc didn't help. It wasn't until I got out of bed did some of the numbness and pain start to subside. Now I just want to go back to bed, not log on and start work.

Good Evening Kids! It's been a very full day. We've got one more day to get our stuff out of the house. I'd hoped to accomplish more, but too many places are still closed down here, so we will be content to get done what we can.
It rained most of the day. So, we might as well stay indoors & get something done.

Good Afternoon Kids! We've got a strong thunderstorm going on here right now, but we finished cleaning up the house, & it's ready to go. We'll be on the road once again tomorrow. How are things in your neighborhood, NancysSummerSip? Is the water going down? Or, are you getting more rain today?

Good Afternoon or Evening, Kids! We're on our way back home, and are going to spend the night in Kentucky. I'm exhausted, as I really didn't sleep well last night. I'll try to catch up on a bit of sleep tonight, then I'll have more driving tomorrow.

Got my haircut and feel so much better. The couple that own the shop where I go aren't accepting new clients, and haven't in at least two or three years. They are winding down to retirement. I asked him about people coming in off the street wanting a hair cut. He said they had one lady they almost had to call the cops on, she wouldn't take no for an answer. I guess she told him that no she wanted a hair cut and he was going to do it. I guess he finally shut the door in her face and locked it. They are coming out to the car to get you and they take your temperature before you enter. He said that if they were a place that allowed walk ins they probably wouldn't have opened up given their ages etc. Because they have known all their clients for years they feel better about opening.

Hi Kids! We made it back home, and it turns out just in time. You've all heard about the African American man who died while being arrested. The violence has spilled over, and stores have been looted as close as 2 miles from our house, which seems crazy since we're out in the suburbs. I need to catch up on the news here. At least, so far, no one else has gotten hurt. But, our entire county is under curfew, as are the nearby cities, beginning 8 pm tonight. Such a strange time we're living in. It does sound like the officer that pinned that young man to the ground by his neck will be facing charges.

Morning peeps. Last day of reserved swim -- regular 5 am practice with social distancing starts Tuesday. busymom glad you made it home. We are watching the news here. All the officers will be facing charges. I don't blame anyone for rioting at this point, though it solves nothing. But look who's in charge at the top. I cannot blame anyone at this point for being desperate enough to do whatever it takes to get attention and justice.

Good morning everyone. A few days of heat here. May have to start using a/c if the humidity rises. busymom glad you are "safely" home. Civil demonstrating yes but burning and looting are wrong. In the riots in Baltimore blacks burned and looted stores in their community owned by blacks. I know its mostly stored up frustration and mob mentality following the criminal lead.

Good Morning Kids! It sure was nice to wake up here this morning. The sun in up, and the birds are singing.
Sadly, there is more damage in the city from rioting. I have doubts that some of the businesses will ever be rebuilt, which is sad. Some have come from outside the area to participate in the rioting, which just makes things worse for everyone. The National Guard is going to have about 1,700 here to assist by the end of the weekend.
On a side note, the now former policeman (he's been fired) who's been charged with suffocating the man in Minneapolis, well, his wife just filed for divorce...

I am back peeps. I need to go back out shortly for an appointment, but will be back to mow the back yard. I think the grass grew a foot at least from all the rain. My neighbors got tired of the pool of water at the end of their driveway -- they were out yesterday in boots with buckets, trying to get rid of it. But the sewers are still very high, so nothing is really draining.

This morning took an interesting turn. DD calls and asks if I can come down and babysit for a bit. Yesterday when she was out back playing with the kids she heard something go pop and then couldn't put any weight on her leg. This morning she could limp around on her tip toe on that one side. I watched the kids while she went to urgent care. She is now in a boot with a diagnosis of a torn calf muscle and has to call the orthopedic doctor on Monday.

Well, THAT was interesting. I went to the grocery store to stock up on the basics (milk, bread, etc.), and they've completely boarded up the store, in anticipation of possible rioting tonight. The place IS open for business, but customers are cleaning out the shelves. Scary! DH has been busy. He has already mowed the lawn, and is now preparing to rototill my vegetable gardens. Normally we get it all in on Memorial Weekend, but since we weren't here, we're planning to get most of it done this weekend. We're not worried, as one year our schedule was so full we literally didn't plant the garden until mid-June, and it still produced. Anyone else feeling like this year has proven it's a PITA, and ready to move into the next year?

I managed to mow front and back yard. DH had decent energy today, and trimmed around the fence. I have to do the front yard trimming, but that will be quick. No rain in the forecast tomorrow.
Tomorrow is DH's birthday. I told him we could have root beer floats as an afternoon treat.

A hot day out there, but at least the pools and puddles of rain water are gone. I did run before the heat got too bad. Stew is in the crockpot for dinner tonight.

I was pretty hungry this morning, hence the brunch spread. Sipping mint iced tea now while the washer runs. I did the coupon thing from the Sunday paper -- not many sales out there now. And you can really see the increase in food prices, at least here.

OK, stew is done and smells fab. I will serve it with noodles and fresh peas. Laundry is done.
I will need to go outside and trim the front yard and do a little weeding but that has to be later.I refertilized the garden yesterday. Not sure how much I can salvage from it. The lemon and avocado tree seem to be fine. The herbs are fine, but I think a lot of other stuff took a pretty good beatdown from the rain.
