Good Morning Kids! I was up late, and now I'm up early working on stuff. There's more than coronavirus in the world to be worried about, but I AM paying attention.

Talk about over reaction with this corona virus! The press really created a panic.

Good morning everyone. After am rain it is sunny and 67*. The library cancelled all events but is open. Senior center is closed. What will the people who get a meal there do? YMCA is open but I'm not going for a while. Will increase my walking and add other exercises.

Ugh! I picked the wrong day to go to Target. I was at a restroom sink when a mom walked in with a little girl, who looked like she'd spilled something on herself. Mom grabbed some paper towels, and proceeds to tell me her daughter just finished throwing up. Totally forgot that this week is Spring Break for the schools. I miss the days when Spring Break was always the week that had Palm Sunday and Easter. Maybe I should start wearing my mask in public? Oh, and they've just announced they're going to use the National Guard to "help" down here, but they're sort of vague on how they might assist with the fight against coronavirus.

Hello my hopefully still healthy peeps. Been crazy out there, hasn't it? We are as ready as we can be. DH cannot really go anywhere due to age and health issues. We did the grocery thing last night -- my Gawd, it really looked like the apocalypse had arrived. Got everything I wanted and needed though. No competitions scheduled this weekend. Still have a bike race next weekend, as far as I know (website not showing any change yet). I will spend the weekend putting in my garden, washing the car, freelancing, doing housework. We do have swim practice tomorrow morning.

Good Morning Kids! What a crazy night last night! This coronavirus thing has gotten completely out of control, with fear, etc. DH & I were up, watching the news, and around 11 pm one of those little news blurbs that crosses the screen says all Publix stores were closing early for deep cleaning, and there is no information on when they'd be opening up again. Well, there aren't a lot of grocery stores around here, and I could imagine, Saturday, what a panic there would be if they were closed. So, I called my neighbor, told her I was going to the 24 hour Walmart, and asked if she needed anything, because I was going to stock up. She ends up shopping with me, the two of us, at Midnight, and it was SO funny and a bit scary at the same time. The TP aisle was empty, the bread aisle was almost empty, and the soup aisle was almost empty, except for about 2 kinds of soup. After we got back home, we find out that Publix isn't closing for days, they'll just be closing early every night from now on to deep clean. However, we did talk to a customer who'd been to the nearest Super Walmart (maybe 10-15 miles away), and they are cleaned out of groceries.

I went yesterday to do my weekly shopping for Mom and me. YIKES, it was crazy. If you wanted a cart you had to bring it in from the parking lot. This is from a store that prides itself on customer service and almost always has someone take your groceries out for you. They were just too busy. TP aisle was almost empty. The shelves were empty but someone had rolled a pallet of TP into the aisle and just left it. They weren't even bothering to try and stock the shelves. There was a 3 item limit on all paper products. No wipes, hand sanitizer, any type of clorox product. DD has said that baby wipes are in short supply, apparently people are buying those since the clorox wipes are out. The dog food section and bread section was pretty hard hit. The frozen food aisle was really hit hard, very few frozen veggies, no tater tots (but you could get fries, crowns etc), hot pockets, and frozen pizza selection was minimal. Every checkstand but one was open and they were all 3-4 deep with people with piled high carts.
ETA: I did notice that the fresh food was at normal stocking levels, well except for bags of potatoes. All other fresh fruits and veggies were in abundant supply as was fresh meat and dairy.

busymom I read online this morning that there are six states that have called up the national guard. I bet what they'll be used for is to keep order in grocery store parking lots and guard the tp aisles!

Believe me peeps, the crazy extends down here, too. The grocery delivery trucks are all over the place, working to restock, and I have to agree with the idea of Publix closing early to restock. Otherwise they leave the big delivery carts in the aisles during the shopping day; very dangerous to the idyuts who try to drive a cart AND talk on their cell phones at the same time. I did stop early this morning after swim practice (I needed plain tomato sauce for chili and some more freezer containers for it, along with the beef and veg stew I will make tomorrow). Time was about 8 a.m. and it was reasonably sane. Shelves were not full, but not empty, either. No paper goods, but most other items were there. Speaking of cooking, the chili is on the stove. We went to the garden center for plants, edging and soil. I will probably go back tomorrow for more plants.
We're having fish tonight; trying to continue to eat healthy. I will fix some brown sugar carrots and mac and cheese on the side.

Good Morning Kids! I got to bed late last night (around 12:30), and I just couldn't sleep this morning, so I finally got up around 7. Maybe I'll take a nap this afternoon. I feel a bit guilty to tell you that we've made a decision to stay home from church for awhile, but we are members of a large congregation, with a number of active Navy families, a school, and seniors who love to travel. But, safety first, and at least we can do "t.v. church". DH is close to retirement age, and DS has health issues, so we've decided to play it safe. If we're overdoing it, oh well. They're extending Spring Break here for the school kids, so we'll have those little "germ machines" running around here more than usual, too. DH just left for a quick visit to our big Walmart store. It used to be a 24-hour store, but now they'll be shutting down overnight for awhile, at least until things settle down with coronavirus. Strange times we're witnessing...

Our church is closed this weekend. The pastor will be giving the sermon and it will be live streamed and I understand that there will also be some special music. We have a funeral today, at 11am, which seems like a really weird time for a funeral to me. Last night Mom was saying she didn't want to go, so we shall see how she feels this morning. I don't anticipate that there will be a large turnout.

Been crazy busy. Did a last long bike ride this morning (the bike race is still on - so far - for next Sunday, but who knows at this point?) Fixed wild blueberry pancaked for breakfast, went back to the garden shop for more tomatoes, peppers, zucchini and broccoli plants. I have those in and planted, along with herbs. We also bought a lemon tree, but I will plant that later, when it's shadier out back. Washed all the towels today, and beef stew is in the crockpot. Freezer is looking nice a full. I treated myself to some freshly-made iced tea.

I probably broke all kinds of corona virus protocols today. Mom and I went to the funeral where we had a kind of comedy of errors with some lady. We were sitting there in a row by ourselves and I saw this blond lady come in and I asked Mom isn't that Cindy. She agreed it was. This lady sat in front of us and then turned around towards us. Mom asked her if she remembered us from church and she said oh yes. I called her Cindy and she said oh no it's Melissa but that's ok. Then she asked to sit with us and plopped down in the chair right next to me. During the service Cindy's brother David spoke, we hadn't seen him sitting further up in the room. So we knew for sure then that this women wasn't Cindy, otherwise she would have sat with her brother. After the service she said so good to see you again and left. We have no idea who she was. After that I asked Mom if she wanted to drive down to my work so I could pick up some manuals that I might need for working from home. She really wanted to do that. Then we went out to lunch. Probably shouldn't have done that or asked for a different table. The restaurant was cramming the few patrons they had into one area. It was the first time Mom had been out of the house for something other than a doctors appt since the end of January. She was really going stir crazy. I figured today was the one shot for getting her out of the house for a while. We probably shouldn't have done it but it was nice weather and she enjoyed the drive and lunch.

Good Morning Kids! The t.v. wonks are suggesting that you stop having those little neighborhood gathering, like if the ladies like to do book clubs, needlework clubs, or whatever. And, they're suggesting rethinking things, like playdates of kids, especially if your kid's best friend tends to come over with a runny nose. Makes me glad my kids are older...

Mine are older but already old enough that they're getting into the range of people who need to be more careful than your average bear!

Well, this is sort of predictable, but my relative's nursing home is now closed off to all visitors. The only exception is if a resident is dying.

I think we are getting carried away with this virus thing. Time will tell.

Hello peeps. Just a drive by to see if you are all OK. I cleaned the bathrooms and did some weeding after dinner. Did a quick bit of freelance and place a Penzey's spice order (hey, if we're gonna be stuck home cooking, might as well be good, right?) Pools have closed so it will be bike and run for awhile....and the bike race did get postponed. So no competition for awhile.

Good Morning Kids! I've been awake & up for awhile now. Doggone insomnia.
Might as well tell you that we're moving. Again. Back to the place we used to live. And, it's a heck of a time to be dealing with a move, with everything else going on in our country...

Yes Sharon! If there's any blessing in this, it's that the house is still ours. And, that we'll be closer to DD again. I can give you a list of reasons NOT to move here. PM me sometime. There's a LOT the state won't tell you, until you're here. Kinda like a mousetrap loaded with cheese.

Since I was up early anyway, I went to Wally World right after they opened, hoping to score some TP & soup. Got it! But holy cow, their shelves are already emptying out, even this early in the morning. Frozen foods looked pretty picked over, too. BTW, just for the record, I only bought ONE package of TP. Can't say that about everyone there...

I'm actually shocked that so many seniors retire here, @missrigby, based on how pathetic services are for them, at least in our current community. They've got a LOT of work to do down here, that's all I'm saying...

Aw, Ken. If it will make you feel better, I bought a bunch of McCormick last week, too. Like I said, with this coronavirus thing, spice may be the only variety in life.

Good Morning Kids! Didn't get much done with packing yesterday, as I had to complete a bunch of paperwork & get it to the post office. My closest neighbor, who has some health issues (and is younger than me) was taken by ambulance from her house. I'm praying it's not the coronavirus, because she's one of those I'm been worried about during the outbreak.
