I love just going to a friend's house to eat, drink, dance and party with other friends and meet new ones.
What do you like to do to socialize?

Does this count? Most of my good friends live out of state, so I usually take the train to the city closest to them and we eat, walk around and just hang out.

I enjoy hanging out with friends. Usually just getting together at someone's place, or hitting up a diner, just sitting around bs'ing.

Hi POM!! DH and I love to go to my sister's house or have my sister and her DH come to our house. Our "boys" are both musicians so they play music. We sit and drink ritas and watch movies or just gab. A lot of times we'll make sides while the guys barbecue.
We also like to go to concerts (recently saw Carole King and James Taylor) and sporting events (Warriors, Sharks, As, Giants, etc.), but our fav is getting together with my sis and her husband.

I go to scifi conventions and cosplay and I hike, do yoga, when I hang out with friends we either get coffee and shoot the breeze or hang around someone's house. We're actually kind of boring, we don't do much besides that

I talk to the dolls that live in my mothers basement. And do they talk back?

We like to play in trivia contests in the winter. Our team usually comes in first or second.

I did recently meet two women that could be my sister though. We really hit it off at a party this week and plan on going to lunch together soon. Everybody kept commenting how much we looked a like.

The older I get the less I socialize. The last time I met up with friends, I was desperate to just get home and hibernate. I was glad I saw them , but I would rather be home.

The most socializing I do is here. I've spent my life trying to put on a pleasant and easy going face to others and I think I'm just tired of keeping that up. I'm going to be a mean old women.

My group of friends are way more social than I. I prefer home more too, but I also really enjoy going out and doing things with them. But they want to do stuff 3 or 4 times a week. One it's too expensive and two I get sick of them after spending that much time together. I like to space it out and mix it up more. That's what made me wonder if I was abnormal or they are. I'll go with they are. Plus I have you all and I don't have to dress up for you, right? Everybody seems to have nice social lives - that want them. You guys do fun stuff!

hey all...we used to socialize a lot more when the kids were younger...we mainly get together at someone's house for potluck type meals, or make pizzas, tacos, fire up the grill, etc.
used to play cards a lot also...anything from poker to uno...(don't sit next to your mate when playing uno)...lol

Actually, I would honestly have to say that it was one of the best concerts that I've ever been to.

DH and I have found this to be true too (less socializing as you get older). In our younger years, it seems like we were getting together with people all the time. Now, if we're not getting together with my sis and her DH (about twice a month) we're just chillin' together at home.

I'm going to go with board games and booze! Or just board games, I guess We play board games as a family and with friends, so it's a very multipurpose social activity. I also just enjoy sitting around with friends and talking - no pressure, alchohol & pot not necessary (but occasionally nice). I miss my neighbors right now - she's a smoker and I'm still trying to quit, but I love hanging out with her. For fun I like to discuss politics - which is why I've joined the local dem party.. I like intellectual conversations (even if all involved are slightly dumb ).

There is such thing as socializing? Socializing for me is best done on a small group basis, preferably in a home environment. I do prefer to be with family more than friends, and we do the typical family stuff.

Socialize? I'm am socializing. When somebody invites me to go somewhere or do something, if I accept, I dread it until I've gone or done. Afterward, I'm glad I went or did. I've always been this way.

I love to get together with our friends, either at their house, our house or go to hear my favorite bands. Alcohol is always involved so it is nice when we entertain at our house (I hate being the designated driver).
In the summer, we are huge concert freaks. I was at so many concerts last year that they are all blending together....
Our new house will have the perfect yard for entertaining in the summer...can't wait!

I love live music, so when I have the time to head 45 minutes in to Boston, I go to shows. think darkly-lit dive bars rather than sold-out arenas. I get cranky when ticket prices go above $25 including ticketbastard fees. the cruise I just got back from is a 4-day concert fest. I also have a group of girlfriends that get together for wine tastings, either out at packies for organized ones, or in each others' homes for whatever's in our stashes. oh, and I play women's ice hockey here in MA. that, in addition to being an excellent outlet for pent-up aggression, is a great social arena all on its own. such wonderful women!

Favorite social activity is going to beer festivals. I go with friends to 3 of these a year - so 3 girls' weekends in 3 states. The friends are people I grew up with but don't see often anymore. We meet in our old hometown, make the road trip together, stay in a suite - get our fill of drinking, gabbing, drinking, eating, drinking, a little shopping the following day and we're good til the next one. There's a 4th festival that's local to me & attended en masse by friends - that's the only one that includes SO's. They have their fishing, hunting, football or whatever weekends ... we don't pretend to base our trips on some other hobby, just state straight out it's about the beer! Otherwise, day to day socializing is pretty standard - we usually hang out at one of our homes or occasionally the neighborhood dive and eat, drink, and be merry. Once or twice a month is plenty of that for me.

We have become in-home family socializers, as well. We enjoy just hanging out with other couples while the kids play together and run around like yahoos... Right now it's just a lot easier (and less stressful) to do that than try to entertain everyone at a restaurant.

We don't socialize with any drinkers. I guess that just isn't our group. DH doesn't drink. I don't mind some Sam Adams though but I don't drink much either. Then WTF are you doing on EE?

I enjoy having a conversation with friends at their house. I'm real low key. I also prefer to be home alot and usually play spades on yahoo. And there are several message boards I like to visit - I lurk on all of them except this one.
While I enjoy my visits with friends immensely - once the evening is done I feel like I have to take time to recuperate afterwards - I've always found being around people draining, even the ones I like.
