I Lose.
And when I'm sick. I can't get rid of my sinus infection and I'm having a hard time keeping weight on right now. It's my diet plan. I never gain much after the holidays because I always get sinusitis for the winter. Then I'll get another one for spring. It's better than working out though. LOL!

Lose. I always lose. I lose weight just sitting on my ass. It's a constant fight to keep any meat on my bones. Everyone keeps telling me that'll all stop at 30, I've been crossing my fingers for a decade.

Didn't happen to me either. And you know I'm not 30.

<Tina unfriends POM and Dark> I am pretty much a stress eater so I typically gain weight when stressed or upset. There was only one time in my life that I was so upset that I literally couldn't eat and lost a few pounds.

I lose. I also get severe digestive problems when I am highly stressed.

You aren't alone Tina, you're just the only one drunk enough to admit it. And like POM said, I'd still tap it, so you're all good.

depends. if it's minor stress, I will actually gain. I can de-stress with a glass or two of wine, which always comes with high-cal munchies. my resolution this year is to keep those high-cal munchies out of my house so that doesn't happen nearly so much. although, I see most of the minor stress leaving my life in the next few months when my department re-organizes.
if it's major enough stress, I'm with those that can't even smell food or I'm nauseous.

Usually gain. Only when I'm very sick do I usually lose weight. I need POM's trick for losing weight with sinusitis.

Interesting. Mine is not like that at all. More like sinus headaches, sometimes ear aches and I generally feel rundown and cold.

I'd say I gain weight:
Saw a woman in a thong. It stressed me. Physiologically, part of me rapidly put on weight.

I always used to gain. I managed to break myself of the stress eating habit, so now I think I lose. When my ex dumped me, I dropped 10 pounds in a week. Of course, it helps I ate once or twice every 3-4 days.....

I just think it's interesting how different people's body deals with the stress. My father and I both lose weight when under stress, but my mother and brothers gain. I have to literally force myself to eat because nothing looks, tastes, smells or even sounds good. Right now I'm the lowest I've ever been due to a lot of stress, breast feeding, running after a 3 year old and my new and improved dairy-free diet. Hopefully it's under control now and I'll stop losing... otherwise, another 5 lbs (which has been my avg two- week loss) I'm going to start looking anorexic!

Now (he's 35) he can't lose those extra 15-20 lbs! Be careful what you ask for!

It doesn't matter what the occasion (stress, duress, happiness) I gain. I am definitely a stress eater.

About a month before our wedding he ordered a CASE of World's Finest Chocolate bars. I. Could. Have. KILLED. Him! I made him hide them from me... and he's damn lucky I still fit in my wedding dress.

ROFL, RoseGarden!
I'm with chiver--mild stress and I eat anything in reach. Real stress, and I can't eat anything. (That actually came in really handy before my wedding; I hadn't been that skinny in a LONG time. Thanks Mom!)

I eat all the friggin' time. If stressed, I might put on a few pounds, but I NEVER get to 140 lbs (132 lbs is my "ideal"...I'm 5'9"), so I don't totally balloon from the overeating. I wish I could be one of those people who loses weight, but I'm not.
