mk: I would desperately love to have cork flooring. Just make sure it's sealed (like with wood floor) in the case of spills, etc.

I've heard very good things about cork floors - more durable, better on the joints, etc. Agree with shane about sealing, though. Update 4 NSDs, 7 CSDs, 4 EODsBusy busy busy. Every 3 or so months someone comes up with the bright idea to kill or totally revamp my project... it may actually work in my favor this time, but it's always exhausting to figure out who is doing what, who is saying what, who is being honest and who is feeding me a line of BS. Good news is that I had 2 days off last week and have 2 days off next week Also just posted the new budget on YM, always a nervewracking experience. Hopefully Doxie comes back tomorrow to take any heat off

Thanks Saphire and red for the congrats on running 3 miles.
sheila - Thanks for the props on getting Christmas shopping to a reasonable point. Yes next weekend is going ot be crazy. We have to fit grocery shopping in and actually buy our Turkey. I have to figure out what we are eating besides turkey. UGH!
Work/life was crazy today. DS's Kindermusic class at the assisted living was a huge hit. He was just a doll and afterwards shook hands with all the residents that watched and even gave one lady a hug. I'm pooped tonight. I took the night off from working out (although I did go for a walk at lunch today and then was out in the field for a couple hours in the afternoon) and I was hoping to work, but I'm going to bed. I did get supper in the crockpot for tomorrow night. I guess tomorrow I'll go out for lunch since we are out of leftovers in the house. Maybe go to Academy sports and look at spending some of my birthday money. We'll see what my coworkers are up to.

update; 13 NSD, 5 CSD, 1 EOD. I think that is right. I count my CSD as a NSD so I have 14 days accounted for and today is the 14th so I am good.

I have read good things about cork but have no personal experience with it. Mid: Fingers crossed that the project changes end up in your favor. I will check out your thread on YM- I promise to say nice things Muttley: Your DS is such a sweetie. I bet he made a lot of the residents' week. 3Cats; You are a rock star on the NS front. Hope everything is going well for you. Red: Congrats on getting the fence fixed.

So worn out today. It seems that yesterday my body noticed that it's not getting the same amount of meds it used to (I have lupus, weaning off so we can have a baby next year). Pleurisy is back in my left lung, my back spasms whenever I move a certain way, my elbow, knee, and wrist joints are in full-on arthritic flare, and my ankles literally felt like someone took a sledgehammer to them and shattered them. Going down stairs was agony, walking was exhausting and made me nauseous. When I got home after class I just opened the door, saw blue, and burst into tears. He had no idea what was wrong but was so sweet, especially when I just collapsed on the floor in front of the couch. Just couldn't take another step. Immediately doped up on prednisone (steroids are probably going to be the only way I can get through being off my other meds, unfortunately). Method of going downstairs was sliding down on my butt (which was actually kind of fun). Definitely wish we had a bathroom on the second floor, too! The prednisone kicked in a bit today so the pleurisy is a bit better, my back is only minorly spasming, the arthritis is manageable, and I can walk somewhat normally. I still made blue drive me to the train in case I'm a basketcase again tonight after class. Hobbling to my car in a dark parking lot last night just willing myself to take the next step was perhaps my lowest low since I first got sick. I knew this would be hard, but knowing and experiencing are two different things. This kid-to-be better appreciate it lol. Hoping more prednisone tonight will make it even better. Might be hard to keep our plan a secret from the families (last thing I want is "so you pregnant yet?" all the time) if I'm a cripple...
Sorry to complain so much. I just needed to vent. So frustrating feeling my illness again, when for the past 15 years I've essentially just taken my meds daily and been fine, with a few minor flares from time to time. But everything at once again just sucks! Resisted buying myself a pity donut this morning. Small victories...
Signing up for my FSA. I missed it last year (was more focused on convincing blue to get cats lol). I need a prescription for my allergy meds now, since OTC doesn't count without a prescription. So annoying. Not really sure how that works, so not putting a ton into the FSA for that in case it doesn't work for some reason. I don't want to end up with unused money. Since right now the company pays for all prescriptions upfront and then takes money out of our paychecks (post tax) for our copay, I don't anticipate much difference, perhaps larger paychecks since it'll be pretax now. It'll be nice getting blue's contacts with pretax money though! I told him he has to wait until January to order them now lol.
muttley - so cute with DS! You've got a real sweetie on your hands, it seems!

QOTW/COTW- This is going to sound horrible, but DGMs death is actually the catalyst for pushing the rest of my financial changes. We talked to my aunts and uncles about buying the house and my uncles were able to tell us how much the rest of the impending repairs would cost. They have nothing against us buying the house, but were very concerned about what would happen if something happened to my mom and I got stuck with the mortgage- so she will have to get her own place and the house will be sold. That eliminates a huge strain on my budget since they were disrespectful of my budget. It has been decided DM will get her own place. I will go clean for her instead of live with her. DB has been given a set date to move.

red -- hope you feel better soon. Pleurisy is no fun; been there once before.
mizbear -- I think it is wonderful that you have an opportunity for a fresh start in your own place. This should be less stressful for you.

mizbear: I know it will be hard to see the family home go but I think in the long run it may be for the best. There was going to be way too much family drama tied up in you and your mother trying to buy your DGM's house. Hopefully when this is all sad and done you will be able to start putting yourself first on your priority list.

More than halfway home and stuck in salt lake for refueling. Here's an actual stream of thought from somewhere over south Dakota:
"I'm so confused; they're playing twilight and it's not on the comedy channel
WHo is this new guy on unsolved mysteries? Where did the old guy go? Did he die? Do we need an unsolved murder for him? Best worst acting ever. Except for twilight."
Will be glad to get some and relax in my own bed again! I'll write more about hanging with honey soon but we had a blast - so much fun to vacation with the WIR

Hey all! I would appreciate your good thoughts/juju today. My DS#2 goes to the hospital for his dental surgery. Always scary when they have to knock them out for anything. Poor kid goes through so much.

Feeling a bit more human today. Just my back and my knees, primarily. Gotta love having the arthritic body of an 80 year old... I don't think I'll be hitting up pilates and zumba tonight, unfortunately. Such a waste. Between my vacation, the two weeks I was sick, and being unable to move this week, I've missed half the classes. Hopefully I'll be in better shape for spring session (actually, hopefully I'll be knocked up by then haha! MK - hope everything goes smoothly for DS#2! How is it only Wednesday? This week is crawling by.

Thanks! DS#2 didn't really want to come out of the anesthesia but he is doing well now. Doesn't know what to think of the new dental work but I think he was in some pain when eating before so now he can eat again. So tough when he can't tell me he has a problem.
red: I don't know much about your condition but I hope you are feeling better. You have a PM

red- Feel better. MK- Hope DS2 feels better- I don't know if this will help- but when I have dental work- I love Spaghettios- they taste like something, but they are soft and you can just heat them so they are warm enough to eat. I have my first show this weekend. Vendor event One of our execs had to have a heart cath and is resting, I am so glad they thought of me. Another date this weekend. ;D The cemetary is flooded so we have to wait to bury my grandmother until it dries out. C'est la vie. I have totally lost track of my spend days. I haven't spent much- although I did overpay the electric bill to give me a few dollars credit for next month. Have good news for you guys on the money front where DM/etc is concerned but brain is fried for the night. Viewing rant- feel free to skip- DB did not come to DGMs viewing. He slept through it. Seriously. DM called him to get up and he never did. If he doesn't show tomorrow the fur will fly- and it will be his. My cousin's ex-wife showed up looking like a streetwalker. She had on sweater dress and not quite knee high dress boots. What's the problem with that you say? That big 6-8 inch band that is supposed to ride BELOW the lowest part of your butt- especially when you are 50 or older- was halfway up her butt AND you could see her body shaper THROUGH the thing! Not spanx- the old fashioned heavy- makes panty lines look 3x worse than what they are posture/corset made to torture people bathing suit shaped thingies. You could see it through the dress- which was too short- did I mention that the dress was white and she was wearing black hose and boots with a black cape- she looked like she was going somewhere OTHER than a funeral home. She could have at least worn black if she had to show up to grandmother's viewing looking like the town whore. THEN my DGMs PIA soul surviving sibling showed up. He got in my mother's face at the casket and we almost had a fight break out. My cousin's 3 year old - as I was inviting him to leave- on his own, in handcuffs, on the end of my foot, on a stretcher.... came up and tugged on my pants. He looked up at him and said "Go away- you making people mad." He left very quickly. I hope he does not show up tomorrow. If he upsets my mother tomorrow- he has had it. My uncle Js wife told me tonight if he acts up tomorrow "he's ours".

mizbear - SOrry about the drama. I hope today goes well for you. Congrats on the date and your show.
mk - Glad to hear DS is doing well. Hopefully, the surgery did the trick.
I got my run in last night dispite being tired and the fact it was sleeting when I came home from work (it was clear by the time I got my run in, but still I did not want to leave the house). DH was gone all night at meetings and then he went to his brothers to help his brother finish getting the furnace installed. Tthat is the great part about having my running track is that I can run even if DH isn't home to watch DS. Anyway, back to work. Tonight I need to cook because we are almost out of leftovers in the house. I also need to prep my Sunday School material and then I need to actually talk to DH and figure out how this weekend is going to go. It just got busier since he is singing in the choir again and then he may end up staying on the church board another year even though his term is up this year. We'll see what happens.

mizbear: sorry for the drama. hope everything goes well today mk: glad DS#2 came through the dental work fine red: hope you start to feel better as your body adjusts to it's new normal muttley: good luck in your race on Saturday!
I don't want to go through the convoluted process that got us there, but we went from me running out to grab one thing I wanted and the new mouse and keyboard that DH needed to deciding to do almost all of our Thanksgiving shopping last night. Started at Safeway for the turkey, realized we had to buy at least $50 worth of other stuff to get the good deal, bought $100 worth of other stuff to get a slightly better deal- total $110. Then on to CostCo for another $90 worth of stuff, and finally Target for the keyboard, mouse, and two new pairs of long underwear pants for DH. As for the one thing I orginally wanted to get for myself, nope didn't go anywhere near a store that would carry it (embroidery loop- I can't find my old one and I have a couple projects I'd like to get done for Christmas). This weekend it looks like we'll be going to Home Depot and buying a propane powered infra-red turkey fryer. It doesn't use oil, is cheaper and safer than a traditional deep fryer, and there's a chance we'll use it for something other than Thanksgiving turkey. DH is pretty excited because while these apparently take 2x as long as a deep fryer to cook the turkey, they still only take about 2 hours, and it will free up our oven for other things. For me, this weekend is all about cleaning. I need to steam clean the carpets, do a general clutter round up in the living and dining rooms, and a deep clean on the bathroom. Sounds thrilling, doesn't it.

Thanks guys! Better every day, although first thing in the morning is a little rough. Trying to convince blue to make half the staircase a slide for me but I don't think he's going for it haha. As much as this all hurts, I do rather like the idea of not being on so many crazy chemicals. It'll be good to see what I can live without now. A lot of it I've been on for over a decade and maybe don't need anymore. We shall see!!
shanen - wow that sounds like a tiring night of shopping! Good to have it out of the way though, I'm sure. Blue's cousin has a crazy system rigged to deep fry their turkey. It involves a very long rope, pulley system, a lawn chair ten feet away, and a cigar. Makes for fun pictures.

Looks like we have all been pretty quiet this week. mizbear: Glad that the funeral was drama free Red: hoping you continue to improve without your meds. I know you have been talking about having to ween off a lot of your meds in order to have kids. I wish you the best of luck in your quest. Shanen: Hopefully nothing else pops up for you this week and you are able to get everything you want to done this weekend. My fan is dying in my computer so DH is going to have to swap that out this weekend. Always something it seems. MK: Glad to hear that surgery went well for DS#2. Hoping he is feeling better soon. Poor little guy Quiet here too- Mom and Dad flew out to the Dominican Republic this AM for vacation with two sets of my aunts and uncles. Gone for a week- bossman forwarded his phone to my phone so I am hoping it doesn't ring like crazy all weekend.

Thanks Sheila! Doing pretty well today. A big messup with my doctor calling in the interim meds to my pharmacy but I think it's cleared up and I should have that tomorrow. Was not looking forward to abruptly stopping those and being like I was on Monday again! But looking forward to an active, productive weekend ahead!
have a good weekend everyone! I'm enjoying my mint hot cocoa from dunkin donuts. Just wish there was a little baileys in there haha.

14/20 NS/CSs
mizbear: glad the funeral was drama free. How are you doing? I know you were close to DGM
red: glad you are doing better.
DS#2 is doing better. He only ate a few fries yesterday. Today he has eaten more and is off to daytreatment. His mouth is all silver now in the back but none of his front teeth were affected. While I am glad everything was taken care of I feel bad about how bad his teeth were. I had NO idea and he must have been in quite a bit of pain.
Looking forward to the sales at CVS and WAGS on Thursday. I am probably going to hit 2 stores for each company. Ones here in St Michael and then one town over. I am looking forward to getting the stuff for all my gift bags.
