When DH said "ninth goal" I thought he meant ninth total for the game, not for the Pens... was seriously hoping the Flyers would sweep Pittsburgh

Its like Sunday with a flipped score and less fighting. They are definitely holding the reins tighter tonight.

DH is having a coronary here over the Rangers game. He gets as steamed as Tortorella! (well, maybe not quite)

ugh, cael...with luck he'll be clean-shaven by Cup finals. I love that the Penguins have been able to tie one on in Philly, it shuts 'em up for a bit!

I think their arena's emptied out pretty much chiver. Work night, they aren't sticking around to see this.

Philly does have a fantastic road record. I know a Pens fan who didn't want home ice because of how well the Flyers have played there.

What an OMG opening round of the playoffs. It's hard to believe- Canucks, Bruins, Pens, Sharks, Wings, Hawks all out. My Devils made it through, and so did the Caps, but still, WOW. I'm rooting for the Coyotes in the West, and of course the Devils in the East. We need to at least beat the hated Flyers. (And I have no issue if the Flyers fans on this board refer to the Devils as hated, that's they way it's supposed to be.)

My coworkers are die hard Caps fans, they wanted to face New York. They got their wish.

I'm rooting for Holtby to continue playing well as long as he can (I'm kind of in disbelief of his skill right now), but I don't particularly care for the Caps.

I perhaps should hate the Rangers more than I do, but in the years since I've been watching hockey (since the mid 90s), they just haven't been good enough to bother hating.

Why does everyone hate the Rangers, haven't they largely sucked for decades besides for 1994? my husband (diehard NYR fan) is getting more and more scraggly as time goes on and it's hilarious, he was so sure they'd lose in the first round I have no one else to throw my support behind for now until the Rangers are out, and I'd like to see them beat the piss out of the Caps, so gooooo Rangers!

Lol, we have a couple of guys at work with playoff beards. Rangers have had the Flyers' number this season so I gotta hate. But really, being from Philly I have to hate on all New York teams. Gotta put the fans in their place and all. lol, Im not that much of a douche, but hating nyc is in our city charter.

Oh same here Meg! It's in our charter up here in/around Boston too lol. Guess they always sucked so I didn't care about them (and DH is obsessed with them so I couldn't hate too much... at least he doesn't like the Yankees!) ... kind of like the Mets. I can't hate on the Mets

Dear Caps,
If I'm going to stay awake to watch a triple overtime game you could at least win the damn game!
Signed, Sleepy

Ugh, I totally went to sleep after the 2nd OT period, no way I was gonna stay up! DH did though. He was cursing the Rangers both of the whole first OT periods to just take Lundqvist out of net so the Caps could score and it would be over he's the most depressed fan I've met! (then again I don't know any Cubs fans...)

I slept through part of the 2nd OT. The people I know who went into DC for the game got home at like 1:30 am. I was down by the Verizon Center at 9pm last month but I'm not so sure about midnight! That is pretty depressed though

I was amused by the announcers referring to the suspended Nashville players as the Nashville Night Owls. That game ended before Caps/Rangers and it started 90 mins later!
Damn coworkers for sucking me into hockey. I swear every game I watch is an overtime game.

I swear every game I watch is an overtime game. yeah, that was getting old last series too. It was driving me crazy for Phoenix/Chicago. I think the first 5 went to overtime? And they are midwest/west coast games so starting later anyway. It was meant to be background while I did stuff in the evening and then I got sucked in. Weird playoffs too with only one of the original six still alive in the second round.
