or being outside in the cold too long? Normally after an hour of being inside I'm back to normal but not today. Should I be drinking lots of hot tea?

Hot tea or coffee, a warm shower, sitting in front of a roaring fire.

Optimist, I can't get warm either. I tried the hot shower, chicken broth, sweats, etc. Nothing is working. Guess I will just have to go to the ballet to warm up tonight!

Hot cocoa and Rumple Mintze (100 proof peppermint schnapps.) I've been in for an hour and I'm still cold. I'm off to make myself one now.

We just happen to have a big snow day in NE...no school for the kids.....lots of shoveling out....18 ins. We enjoy hot cocoa with whipped cream. This weather gets really annoying around February.

Wendy, I'm not waiting for February to be annoyed. I'm annoyed now. After hours of shoveling and snow blowing, only half the road is plowed so we know it's only a matter of time before the plow comes along to block us in again. Remind me of why I don't have someone plowing for me.

It's always better when someone else does the plowing. I figure I'll have to break a buy my own shovel eventually...this winter is getting ridiculous

At least that's my excuse--we'll see how good it is in another month or 2...

Mostly because I thought I could use the exercise. Of course, now that I'm freezing to death, it'll cost me more in alcohol than it would have to have the driveway plowed.

When a hot shower isn't going to be warm enough, I go soak in the tub--sometimes it takes an hour to feel warm again, but some days it's the only thing that works for me. If there are any kids in the neighborhood, you might offer them a few bucks to shovel the snow for you

I'm confused. I was plenty warm by the time I finished shoveling the driveway this afternoon. Took me an hour and 15 minutes!
They only predicted 3 - 6"; it was knee deep. My crazy kids didn't wear their boots to school. Actually, drama girl wore them to school, she just didn't wear them home, she carried them. When they got off the bus and stepped in the snow at the bottom of the drive (I was only half done at that point) they both squealed at the cold snow. Then drama girl decided to switch to her boots, in the driveway, but only got one on and hopped up the drive on one foot.

I'm confused also. I was out at the crack of dawn and shoveled for 2.5 hours. I was soaking wet from sweat by the time I finished and ended up taking a lukewarm shower to cool down.
