Hi Jake.

Yes. I don't think she cares about her kids much at all. And, i was annoyed that Dr. Phil didn't give her more "tough love' and was all over the parents who have been the ones to step in and raise her children for her. The parents get tired and have feelings too. It is time for poor, whiny Alex to grow up.

Is she living with you? Some things can be annoying. But, i guess you have to decide if those things are worth the price of the "knot in your stomach' feeling. There are some things my kids do which bug me, but i had to just let some of those things be and realize that it doesn't really matter. My teens leave lights on and other stuff. But, it isn't worth the price that "I" would have to pay to fight over it.
Not saying she shouldnt be more responsible. Of course.

Hello all, DW gave DSD an ultimatum, get a job or join the AF, I'll believe it when I see it.
Shooby, I'm trying to do exactly what you said about "paying a price" to fight over it. Actually, I have been staying out of the drama. I won't leave the kid in harms way, but decided that distancing myself from her is better for me. As for the grandparents, she is using them IMHO. a lot of her old habits are surfacing.

Hi Jake! - Everyone has to find their own way in life. When i look back , there are people who you would never have believed would have accomplished anything who did and vice versa. Just let her find her way. She will. And, don't distance yourself from her as person. You can be continue to be kind and loving. But, you can distance yourself from the drama and from her choices. She has to make her own choices and life in her own way. And, if she using her grandparents, well they are adults too, and if they choose to help her and do things for her, that is their choice to do so as well so that isn't something i would worry about.

That is such a beautiful part of California Kimber, we know it well. We live in southern Ca, but travel, camp, visit family, all over the northern part of the state. Hope he had a safe, wonderful trip!

He did roy. They made it home safe and sound, had Memorial Day to relax before they had to head back to work. I'm waiting for him to come see us, so we can see all the pictures he took.
