Good morning Texas and FF, Technically speaking the statement God does exist is a false one, you may believe god exists but you can not know god exists. To know requires knowledge, knowledge requires proof and evidence, you have no proof nor evidence that god exists. This as you quite rightly point out does not mean god does not exist but it certainly does cast some doubt on its existence. Science deals in probable truths, " god probably does not exist " is probably the most accurate statement. True and amazingly enough what we see proof of is that the desire for this God to exist is strong enough to "make it true" for many. Making it true or strong belief however does not make it factual.  Happy Sunday. Its called Faith.  |

I fail to see how an example of the dangers of blind faith can be construed as rude.
The 9/11 terrorists crashed their planes because of their blind faith, Americans invaded Iraq under the misaprehension that the Christian God was on their side. Why would God bless Americans to kill other humans ?
Faith has its down side.
Religion in the wrong hands and minds has always been a very dangerous weapon.

And, sincere blind faith in the wrong thing is still the wrong thing. You can sincerely believe in something that isn't true. That does not then make it true whether you believe or not. What is problematic with blind faith is that it is blind. Any belief that uses blind faith as a tool should be questioned. This is where the circular logic comes into play, questioning blind faith negates the very act of blind faith. |

You seem to be missing the point, the concept of blind faith sanctions anything good or bad, it can not be by definition misused or misguided, it is blind to the truth and has no value.
To believe something is true and good on faith alone is simply unreasonable and irrational.
I am struggling with the relevance of your Hitler-Science analogy, how does one decide which faith is good or bad if it is blindly followed ?
To only throw out the bathwater without the baby one must be able to see, blind people can not see.
