Science cannot prove there is no God and it goes beyond the intellect, and one needs to go with the heart. I would love to read his book the "War of the World Views". Well, it's not my usual plsce to visit, just happened to hone in on something....  |

Man, its Friday everyone.. Be happy! I'm happy, the sun is shining and I have a busy weekend ahead of me. Also I promised myself I would get out and take some pictures of the Fall, its so beautiful with fresh snow on the mountain tops and the sun shining through the multi colored trees. Can't wait! Nice, you should post some of the pics you take! |

Should we blame God for not making his codes of conduct and instructions clear ?
We have over 35,000 interpretations of Christianity alone, throw in the countless sects of Judaism and Islam and we basically have a quagmire of religious certainty.
Well, they can not be all right, in my mind if you are going to believe in God then you must stick with the original.
I have read the Jewish scriptures, and I quote Richard Dawkins :

I have listened to Deepak on a number of debates, yet to hear him win one. Science has no need to prove God does not exist since there is no evidence to refute, science does not even accept the reasons to presuppose the existence of God. Can you think of any ? |

When a volcano exploded and a mushroom cloud of ash spewed into the atmosphere and lava poured over the land, our primitive ancestors believed this was a deliberate created act with some reason or motivation.
Why do we not think this anymore about volcanic eruptions but think the big bang is somehow an exception ?

Have you heard of Mississippi's Amendment 26? They're trying to ban birth control pills and IUDs for religious reasons. I'd say it's considered shoving it down peoples' throats.

What is it about our reality that we wish to alter or distract ourselves from ?
Is it fear or disfatisfaction ?
Most people take some form of mind altering substance, how many people do not take alcohol, recreational or prescription drugs ?
The ones who do not indulge, alter their mind with God or chocolate.
Our default position may be one of neurosis and boredom.
