Goal: To find a better method to record my workouts. To workout at something everyday. Tighten the tricep area - started dips and chin ups as a must do. Try to find joy in cardio. Continue reducing coffee down to goal of 2 cups. I am using the same w/o record. I do exercise everyday with something. My tris are still floppy but I think arm tone is coming along. There is no joy in cardio so I am mixing it in between wt. sets. Coffee is too much of a cheap entertainment to be given up. It's iced tea season soon. Today at the gym on machines I kicked my rump. I used to do one interval through weights with one set of 30 reps. This and d/b. combinations are my get-r-dones. I found the spots that need some endurance training. I also added some cardio like r.i.p. and jumping jacks between the machines. New goals: Continue daily w.o., variety, and arm toning. Work on agility, balance, Turkish get ups. self for caring to do this.

Are you using kettlebells for your Turkish get-ups Artemis? Kudos. They look really difficult.
I got a strength training program drawn up (unlike many of you I love cardio: it's the weights I find boring), which mostly consists of kettlebell swings, clean and presses, deadlifts, dumbell chest presses, bicep curls and tricep dips. I've managed to up my weights for chest presses by 4kg since starting 5 weeks ago, and increase the number of reps I can do for c&p with an 8kg kettlebell. The tricep dips seem to be getting easier too, but I still can't do full tricep pushups.

Shandi76: No, I just try to get up in the position. The weight will come later. I have tender knees so I try to be careful. There is a half Turkish get up where you only go up onto your hip. That would be much better for me but I am going to meet the challenge of going all the way up.
I have seen people do the TGU with an ankle weight over the shoulder. This move looks better balanced.
I know golf and tennis aren't much cardio but a lot more entertaining. If I have enough energy, I will start biking when the weather and air quality gets better.
There are a lot of challenges to meet with weight training. Best wishes on your continued good work!

Tennis is great cardio if you don't just stand there. RB is excellent cardio. I miss that sport. No one to play with.

I'll play with you Dr.Pig! What is the game, rodeo bullriding? I don't think I could hold your weight, so you have to be the bull.

Racquetball, silly. I used to be pretty damn good but haven't really played in about 15-20 years. Much fun.

HUZZAH got a new PR on deadlift for a double. Meaning I did two reps with the most weight I've done for two reps! Excited, will be rejoining my old powerlifting federation in anticipation.

Great job Pig! Are you looking to get back into power lifting competitions, or joining for some other reason?

RB is not my greatest as I'm not fast enough. I prefer doubles tennis but will play singles. I'd play tennis with you. Isn't there a tennis group in your town? When's the competition? We want to come watch. Congrats on your PR. I get a for playing 18-holes of golf. The walk is about 5 3/4 miles. I don't know why golf is considered a moderate activity when I am whipped afterward. I also don't know why I put on additional weight during golf season. Maybe it's trying to keep fueled. The pros eat something every other hole. New goal 18-holes of golf followed by my regular gym workout. Then I will be ready to safari.

I used to play racquetball a lot too. Nowadays I don't get to play much anymore. Fun sport though.

I have a friend who keeps nagging me to play racquetball with him. There is no way I'm playing him without practicing first! Is is difficult to learn? I've played a little bit of tennis, does that help?

Totally different from tennis. I don't think it's difficult to learn. Only one way to find out Fam, buy a racquet and try it!

I don't have anyone to practice with though. I refuse to embarrass myself in front of this particular friend. We are a bit competitive. He still can't get over the fact that I beat him at poker the last time we played. It would be sweet to beat him at his own game though. Hmmm.

There are plenty of books that have exercises you can do alone in the court to learn the basics......check the library.

You're right Dr.Pig. I think I'm going to ask my husband to play with me. We are extremely competitive as well, but I don't think he has ever played racquetball either so maybe I will have a chance.

New PR triple on deads, could have gotten 4 but grip was giving out. Don't usually have trouble with grip.........but in my defense the bar was not cleaned properly.
