Wow, if you all think moderators are such tyrants, maybe you should have a board on here called the "un-moderated forum" and have at it.
And why are all the MSN topical boards duplicated here? Seems like it would have been a good time to thin down the topics :-)

moneywhisperer, i duplicated most of them simply because I didn't honestly know which ones were wanted outside of EE and YM. one i didn't include was requested afterwards.
if it seems like one or more aren't being posted to they can be easily removed later.

"maybe you should have a board on here called the "un-moderated forum" and have at it." Moneywh-- don't even suggest as a tongue in cheek, partiipated on one of those back in the day right here on MSN, so bad I still wake up with the sweats..seriously, untenable and as sick as one can be...I admit I too was as active as any and for what ever reason...something that really you don't want to see.

Dezi...if it did exist, nothing says you have to click on it. Don't we have any more self control in this country? I sort of agree with moneywhisperer....I'd like to see a "game on" board. That way when two members have an issue, they can go there, hash it out like children in the school yard instead of polluting the main boards with their childish rants and name calling. They come back here when they decide to be adults again. It could be our own little penalty box for our MSN Refugee Camp.

Why not let them communicate privatly with each other as we now can do...I think in most cases they like the notariaty and the public self bashing to get attention to themselves actually..Agree , don't have to click on those , unmonitored, sites and participate, at the time it was a thing between different folks but in hind site...not something I would brag about, more just give a shudder and put back in the recesses to be locked away.

I used to belong to a board that had a free-for-all section, with the thought that it would give people a place to do whatever stupid things they wanted. It ended up emboldening them, and they ended up killing the board.

Why not let them communicate privatly with each other as we now can do... Good point...we do have that ability now. I guess the "blood and gore" could be entertaining. In a slow down to look for bodies when we pass a bad car wreck (I'd bet 95% or us will look) sort of way. Another good point coupled with real life experience. It all falls back on self control. But, like everything else seems to be going with this country...we, grown up folks of all sexes, races, religious beliefs, political leanings, etc...need cradle to grave codling any more. It's a pretty sad state of affairs when we cannot control ourselves any more and require somebody else to do that for us.

The problem is that, without the regulation, lack of self-control of a few can kill things for the many who exercise that self-control.

Moonbeam,
If you are considering adding a tax discussion board (a la Tax Corner) I hope you will limit moderators to those who are qualified tax professionals. Two currently active ones on Tax Corner, MWCPA and Tax Advocate, would be excellent choices.

Seems like it would have been a good time to thin down the topics :-) I would not recommend opening a free for all board here. However, I do have a couple of alternative options for the board, NoBobs and the Boxing board. More on this later.

The NoBobs board has been in existance since, March of '02'. The board is not appropriate for Bungle, but fills the need for occasional lunacy... within reason. Moderating is not carried out unless there's a serious need like mentioning family members.

Merry Everyone!

You know, this could actually be fun! Might be a great way to blow off a lot of steam. A wild wild west of sorts. Of course anyone entering would have to know what they are getting in to and there could be no complaining about it.
