56 - 14 was the score. I quit watching after a while since I was going back and forth with another show!! Awful game. The Bucs should have just jumped into Tampa Bay when they had the chance. I mean, there's losing and then there's humiliation.

Goodell's got a press conference for this afternoon, in New York. I think it's 3pm ET for anyone that wants to listen.

Sheesh, almost every football team in my state fell apart this weekend. Except for FSU. Buncha losers.

I managed to watch most of the Packer game, which was depressing. I saw bits and pieces of other games. But 2 people in the pool were 11-0 after the early games.

Anyone know what the final turnover count was for Washington? I think it was 4 when I went to bed.

I was driving home during most of the Packer game. Man, I really love radio announcers.

Don't cry Tommy! Even "elite" quarterbacks have really bad days.

The Patriots gave it their best effort to cost me my fantasy matchup. I was leading by 6 and I had Edelman and NE defense. I managed to win by 8. At least they didn't give me negative points.
I kept wondering when the old NE was going to show up and take control of the game.

Wow Ponder looked worse than I remember him looking. Usually the Packers sucks when we play backup quarterbacks. Which I still don't get. I fell asleep in the 2nd half. I vaguely remember DH saying that Flynn was in and the score was 42-7. On the up side, the last 2 nights I've gotten 7-8 hours of sleep so I'm feeling human again. ETA - this would have been a completely different game with AP in there for the Vikings. I don't know enough about Teddy Bridgewater to believe/know if he'd have made a difference or not. I also have no faith in the Vikings to develop a quarterback.

Are you sure about that? A couple of weeks ago I heard Brady was a washed up old man and your team was doomed.
Btw, thanks for destroying the Bengals last week.

I barely manage to watch the Packer games this year. I'm not going to be noticing much about any other players this year. Damn kids. This weekend is pool time again with one or both kids at the gym so I might not even get to watch that game this week. Ah well. I'm trying to convince myself that I'm building memories with the kids that don't include them saying "Mom's watching football AGAIN" in a put-apon voice. gotta love drama queen 6 year olds!

You're welcome!
That washed up stuff is old news, btw. Now that we have new spyware and Brady is jacked on youth hormones, we're good to go!
Kidding aside, Brady looked good, and the team functioned as that: a team. However I must say, old Tom has lost a fraction of a second in his delivery prep. It ain't much, barely discernable, and for a QB at his level it is certainly workable if he gets an iota of protection in the pocket. But if he is forced to fire too quickly the old accuracy isn't always there. I'm surprised there isn't more squawk about this.
Kidding aside? I'm pretty sure I spotted a mini camera inside Belichick's hoodie on Sunday.

I just gotta crow about it. The Pats, in a squeaker, over the Jets. Blocked field goal attempt that would have one it for the Jets. Yikes!
I just wish I could have stayed up beyond the first half to see it all. Stoopid night games! I gave up at halftime. was trying desperately to rally for the end of the Bruins game, but gave up on that when the damn Habs went up 2. haven't checked that final yet, but yay for a Pats W. an ugly win is still a win. with this year's team, I'll take it!

One day I will learn that the Patriots don't cover 9.5 point spreads. I thought the Jets were going to win.

Ok, I watched the game till time ticked off the clock. But watching one of the many sports channels earlier they showed something I did not catch in the game. On the last field goal attempt Pat's player was lined up wrong and the official literally moved him into the correct spot. Shouldn't the official have let the play progress and then thrown a flag. Not saying it would have made any difference but an official actually getting into the "play" seems a tad off to me. I looked for a video but no go. And no I'm not a disgruntled Jet's fan. But this is just way beyond weird to me. ETA: did find some reports with videos but not going to post here. Also saw one blip where NFL official said it was due to safety issue - not sure I buy that one but what next. Telling players they are offsides before the ball is snapped? Maybe it is common thing to do - guess I just have never seen it.

Maybe it is common thing to do - guess I just have never seen it. Profootballtalk.com has a couple of articles on it today. I haven't seen the play myself but it sounds like an odd thing for a ref to do. And apparently this is more or less a standard operating principle for refs, although several of the posters in the comments section have pointed out cases where flags were tossed in other games and the refs didn't say a word. So make of it what you will. profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/10/17/nfl-calls-official-moving-hightower-standard-procedure/profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/10/17/blandino-calls-field-goal-repositioning-preventative-officiating/

Yep, there is a lot of back and forth about it. It was just something I had never noticed/observed in all my years of watching pro football. And being a Raiders fan you know conspiracy theories are part of our DNA

Nothing like staying up and sacrificing precious sleep to see your team get killed on Sunday Night Football.

James Harrison out of retirement and he makes Joe eat turf the whole game, thanks O-line for nothing. Even worse, our corners couldn't even cover my grandmother... and she uses a walker!
