Wisk 50 oz
Fred Meyers 7/22/11 Sale price $2.99 MQ (2.00) Net .99 or 2 cents/ounce
Gain (combo deal)
Safeway Late August 2011 1 Gain detergent 32 loads $5.99 2 Gain dish soap (1.99 ea) = 3.98 Instant savings at checkout = (3.00) Gain detergent mq (1.00) (2) Gain dish soap mq's (.50 ea) = (1.00) Doublers (1.50) OOP = 3.47 CAT - (3.00) Net = .47
So I count the detergent as .47 and the dish soap as free. (Or, you could divide it up and say .16 per item.)
There was recently a similar deal (last week?) at Wags with the Gain, where it was an even better deal than what I had. You could get the Gain for free, or a money maker I believe if you bought the powder kind.
So, just keep your eyes out in the future on a regional blog, because that Gain deal at Wags was posted on every single blog the last few weeks.
It seems like the laundry deals don't come along all the time - only every few months, so we have to jump on them when they're available.
ETA: For those that don't get doublers, if you had done the same deal without them, the total for the Gain would have been $1.97 for laundry detergent and 2 dish soaps.

I posted this on the Booze Budget thread, but then realized that I should probably post it here too. I THINK they are going to discontinue carrying Stolies vodka at Costco. When I went the other day, it was on sale for $17.59/1.75L bottle (which is unheard of) with no limit; BUT there were not that many bottles available which is what leads me to believe that they will not be carrying it in the future. Anyway, IF you have a Costco and use vodka, it might be worth checking out. I bought (10) bottles for DH's martinis and our bloodies. Now if I could find a similar deal on tequilla!! leanna: Okay, no wonder I didn't do the Gain deal. I remember it being posted just recently, but I don't have doublers at my Safeway. I MIGHT pay $.99/bottle (32 load), but no more than that - for now anyway.

Hey ladies...just wanted to let y'all know that Target is having awesome clearance right now. I was there today, didn't have the energy to do the whole store, but saw lots of CHEAP clearance. There were cotton, somewhat dressy tanks for 2.25-2.50, bras for under $5, bedding sets for under $20...lots of goodies. Definitely worth going to browse if you have time! I agree, and I should have posted this before, too, because the clearance has been phenomenal at my target!

Hello all! Wondering if any of you have seen any coupons for lunchables lately? Target has the ones with the fruit for 2.39. Which compared to the the almost $4 they normally are is a good price but I feel like it I am paying over $2 I could buy them a hot school lunch instead. All 4 love them so it gets expensive quick. I haven't seen any but just wondering if maybe I missed something . Thanks!

There will be no more fraternizing with my sister's dachshund. The Rocket Man is much happier too because now he can nip at Buddy's ears when he gets excited about romping with him (cuz the cone around Buddy's head is gone). ETA: This is my third day straight with a dull headache. I THINK it's from the sulfa drug for the UTI, but should find out (hopefully) by tomorrow. I took my last pill this morning so I am hoping to wake up tomorrow morning headache free.

Go to hotcouponworld.com and scroll down to where it says "Search for coupons in the world's oldest and largest database". Then punch in "Lunchables" and it will tell you what's out there are what kind of coupon it is. Right now it appears that there are peelies, tearpads, and maybe a printable - no insert Qs at this time or I send 'em to ya.

I shop a lot at Kroger. Our Kroger will run really good sales, you can download coupons from their website, and they send me additional coupons in the mail. Right now, I have 2 for $5 off any total purchase of $50 or more. $2 off any $10 or more purchase from the fresh meat dept, $2 off $5 or more in fresh produce, and 50 free fuel points. They will send me additional coupons for specific items. I get coupons for frozen veggies, fruit, oatmeal, detergent, etc. The purchases get me reward points towards cents off gas. hootieman: WELCOME, WELCOME, WELCOME to the Grocery Challenge from me - dancinmama!! ;D So glad that you have decided to come check us out. It sounds like you are doing really well by using Kroger's in-store promotions to save extra on your grocery and gas bills. We have several gals who post on the Grocery Challenge that also shop at Kroger's and often post great deals that they are having there from one week to the next, so come back and check in from time to time (if you'd like).

Hootie, I am also a Kroger convert... if you ever have any Kroger coupons you're not using, or need some for a specific item, let me know. I usually only use about half the ones they send to me

Do you have a friend, relative, or neighbor that does not use coupons that might be willing to give you theirs? If they have an awesome deal, it would be great to be able to get two or three of the item instead of one (IF it is something that you use regularly). After you have established some resources for obtaining extra coupons (including insert coupons), your savings will increase substantially. If that's too much hassle, then shopping the ads and stocking up when the products you use are at rock bottom prices will still save you a t... uhm, a lot of money. ;D

hey hound friends. i'm just popping in during lunch to say hi. i don't have i-net at home anymore (been gone for a month) so i try to check in during the week but found i hadn't been on the thread since 9/9 & was too far behind to read what's going on. i can't contribute any deals since i'm not really shopping. i'm trying to live off the stockpile through the end of the year at least. i've been over-budget buying some deals the last month or so....so i just have to stop shopping period. i haven't been to target in 3 weeks except for 1 sale item because when i browse the clearance i inevitably want to buy it all.
i do want to say a huge THANK YOU to all the hounds that answered past hound alerts & helped me stockpile certain things before DH moved out. i am also very sorry i have not been able to reciprocate very well & without i-net at home i probably won't be able to do much at all.

They send coupons quarterly by snail mail. They don't really send out anything by email except newsletters and opportunities to load their e-coupons. Now that they're really hard core about not combining ecoupons with paper coupons, I almost never load the coupons anymore. They're not as useful (to me) because they don't double and you can only use one at a time. My dad has discovered a recent love for Kroger. Last time I was at his house, he'd gotten his Kroger mailer with tons of coupons for FREE items (free eggs, free coffee, etc) and he'd let all of them expire After me lecturing him about his bad coupon habits, he's already spent the ones for next quarter. Maybe I should have just told him to send them to me instead... I saw that Extreme Couponing was back last week, boo. I found this linked on HCW's facebook page today, and I think it gives a great breakdown of why EC does not represent real life: www.hotcouponworld.com/2011/09/top-10-reasons-why-extreme-couponing-is-not-reality-tv/

Remember that our coupon exchange is a NO OBLIGATION policy. Some people can help more than others. We all pitch in where we can without EXPECTING reciprocation. So please check in when you can and IF you do find you need some Qs, don't hesitate to post a HOUND ALERT for whatever you need. You have made a HUGE contribution to this thread for a very long time so we'll definitely miss you, but remember that we'll always be here for YOU!!

They do it a few ways... as Hootie mentioned, there are the online coupons you can load to your Kroger card, and they also send out generic quarterly (I think?) booklets with about 20-30 coupons inside. If you do enough shopping there, they'll send you some more personalized coupons based on your spending habits - these are the ones I really cash in on, they're usually pretty good. My mom gets a lot of Kroger coupons too, but we have very different shopping habits (and therefore coupons) and I'm not sure trading would be feasible I will keep it in mind if I see any coupons in the generic mailer that I could use some more of...

Our Frys sent out coupons for a pan set, and I know some girls were getting free frying pans with the coupon. I was hoping to get one but I wasn't part of that mailing list.

Good to see you post. Thanks for the GREAT article. There is only ONE reason that I can think of that ANYONE (be it the couponer featured, the store featured, or TLC) would be involved in this show - $$$$$$. I am sure that the couponers who were the first to be featured on the show did not think that TLC would edit the hours that were taped so that they would be portrayed as whackadoos and hoarders. As that is what appears to have been the case (for most of what I saw anyway), I am shocked that so many more couponers would sign up for the abuse UNLESS there was some kind of "pay off" for them. I was hoping that the show would be somewhat educational, but it has turned out to be a cross between Supermarket Sweep (in the opposite) and Hoarders. This show cannot go off the air quickly enough for me. Unfortunately that won't be happening any time soon.

I posted this on the Booze Budget thread, but then realized that I should probably post it here too.I THINK they are going to discontinue carrying Stolies vodka at Costco. Here? Dancin, You should post it on EE. They would love it.

I can't count how many deals I considered doing until I checked my stacks and found out that I didn't get the coupon. For quite a while, I felt as though I was getting at least 80% of what was listed and most of "the good ones". My coupons have been crappy for months now - too bad because I've gotten over (10) sets in both of the last couple of weeks. Maybe the "newbies" are getting discouraged and stopped buying the newspaper for the coupons (cuz they are crappy ;D ). No matter what, unless I am on vacation, I will continue to pick up my coupons on Sunday night. I think that it is too dangerous to break that connection for any length of time and I am HOPING that eventually the coupons get better for me.

Ok, I don't think anyone else here has a Weis (they are only in PA and NY, I think) but there is a double CAT deal right now that is TOO good not to share, just in case someone else can do it. NO coupons are needed! Del Monte canned fruits and veggies, sale price, $1
When you buy $15 (shelf price) you will get TWO $4 Cats. one from Del Monte, one from Weis. This comes out to 9 fruits and 11-12 veggies. I did the deal twice. The first time I bought 9 fruits, had around $5 in bottle deposit refund to put into it, so paid about $4 oop and got $8 in Cats back, then bought 11 veggies (I screwed up here and didn't add up my shelf price, just bought based on HCW reports and I was short so only got 2 $2 Cats back, but, I'm not complaining...) The Cats also ROLL! Not sure how long this will be good for, but, I may try to go back and do it again. This is a fantastic price for canned fruits and veggies!

Ah come on. Take one for the team. ;D Seriously? Okay, I'm down. I posted on it too. Sorry I was late I was posting on a P&M thread. My papers have had carppy coupons too. Three quarters of the time I am missing entire inserts and the inserts I do have are mostly filled with ads for things that I have no idea who in their right mind would ever buy. There have been 4 or 5 coupons a week and they are mostly for 25-50 cents off when you buy 3 or 4 of something. Not exactly what would make me run out to the store because I got a coupon. This week I did get the Digornio Pizza coupon. My kids love having them on Friday night.
