Just to get an idea of the political make-up of the board. Note that "Other" is not an option since (according to the websites I've consulted), the above list includes all currently registered candidates/parties. "Undecided" is not an option due to the construction of the question. That is, you either have to pick one or abstain from voting. Republican candidates are listed in alphabetical order by last name. And note that there is currently one Democratic challenger (Randall Terry) running on a pro-life platform. The results of this poll are not scientifically valid... blah, blah...

How does it work? Oops, figured it out. It's so simple us cavemen can do it. Fill in the left circle and click on "submit" at the bottom, of the list. See? It's simple.

Wouldn't "Independent Write-In Candidate" be akin to other? The independent write in candidate could be anyone from any party running as an independent and currently not registered.

The leader of the Rent is Too Damn High Party is Jimmy McMillan. He's apparently dropped out of the race. Somehow I don't see Ms. Pelosi challenging Pres. Barack Obama for the election and keeping her job.

I'll bet anyone on this board 373 karma that it will never happen. Even the rumours of it will be efficiently quashed.
Drafting Ms. Clinton at this point would be spun by the Republicans as "the Democrats falling apart"—which would be so painfully true that the Democrats couldn't credibly deny it.
Pres. Obama may not be the leader all Democrats wanted, but the architects will keep him in for sake of party unity.

All too true, , , unless the Democratic Party does to Obama what the Republicans did to Nixon over Watergate. They collectively owned up to having backed a loser and the entire country, especially poor Democrats, are having to pay for it.
Under that umbrella the Democrats "might" have a way to survive an Obama replacement. And if they go that route, with recognition that the Tea Party is not a whack-job of disgruntled right wing white supremacists, they might ought to get to working on it soon, , , so they can show some good faith in the next 14 months to undo some of the things Obama has conned the entire Party into backing him on.
And although I think Republicans would be in a better position to handle the transition after Obama, my soul tells me I am not that entrenched. At this point I just hope it will get done.

I'll take that bet Virgil..based on the fact some highly regarded Dem leaders have said that if the economy tanks and Iraq and/or Afghanistan blow apart you would just see the DNC Powers to Be draft Hillary Rodham as their presidential choice instead of Obama or shove Joe Biden out the back door and replace him with Hillary as their vice president choice...not my words but Governor Ed Rendell of PA who is not some loon or nutjob..

Oh I'll grant you that there will be rumblings from some prominent Democrats. But not by party leaders at the federal level.
Even the qualifier "if the economy tanks and Iraq and/or Afghanistan blow apart" smacks of political rhetoric. It implies that if federal Democrats continue to support Pres. Obama (which they will), the economy isn't tanking. And if there's one thing U.S. federalis are increasingly desperate to do, it's convince the American people the economy isn't actually tanking.

Buddy Roemer is an interesting Republican with tons of experience. He is absolutly against all this campaign cash that has corrupted our politics. He will only accept 100 dollar donations and will not accept SuperPac crap. He believes that Special interests have confiscated our government and that requires change. I am a democrate but, this republican puts his finger on the most important issues of the day.
Look into Buddy Roemer

No PI, I pretty much hate politicians. It is hard to think of anything positive in politics. I know McCain would have made a better president, but he had a senior moment when he picked his running mate.
Kitty, you can have my vote. None of those who would be king impress me.

I guess you make a valid point...I can't see anyone yet to really get too enthused about on the Republican ticket...and we could very well have another four more years of Obama.. But the dems are coming apart at the seams if you read the latest news about how frustrated they are with Obama while he vacations on Martha's Vineyard and talks about his debt reduction and jobs bill that are about as factual or credible as the his promises for economic growth in 2011 and 2012..

There once was a lass named MKitty, who ran a campaign rather gritty, to P.I.'s chagrin she eked out a win and passed laws to make his life sh*tty. Too honest?
