Do you believe that given enough calls to violence that you too will finally cave in and go postal?? ********************* but there ARE people out there that will do it. That will take their weapons and go after politicians or other citizens who have differing political views. THIS is what happens. Innocents DIE. Even if only 1 person goes "postal" on a politician, that's 1 too many. There are always going to be crazies out there and there is always going to be an undeserving victim of their criminal acts. This is not the first day that "innocents" have died due to the corrupt will of one person being imposed upon another, nor will it be the last I'm afraid.

As I said-- to be a centrist Democrat in AZ right now in AZ is not safe. They won on promises they cannot afford to keep. But, I doubt it is political, as some said. Just a lunatic... from the left it seems.

Hey, maybe this will boost the calls for being able to carry a gun in the grocery store.... have all showing and right on your hip. Nothing like going backwards and living in the wild west now. When simply buying groceries can get you killed because someone disagreed with a political view. That seems to be what one side really wants. For kids to play dodge bullet while shopping for a box of Lucky Charms.

This twitter friend twitter.com/caitieparker says he was 'left wing' @antderosa As I knew him he was left wing, quite liberal. & oddly obsessed with the 2012 prophecy. So time to maybe stop the Palin stuff now? Edit: ok this person says she hasn't talked to him in 3 years. I see, a liberal. Therefore he killed her because Obama told him to 'fight his enemies'. Damned murdering bastard.

You think no one should be called a 'nutjob' what redeeming theories and ideas did this guy have that were worth killing for? Yes! You can be called a nutjob if you have nutjob beliefs.

Do you not understand that every person is responsible for their own actions? The law is there to convict when one steps outside the boundaries. It has absolutely no preventative powers whatsoever. The gun didn't do it. Political leanings did not do it. Sarah Palin did not do it. Calls for violence did not do it. The gunman did, and he will be prosecuted under the law. What more do you wish, more laws which only the law abiding follow?

Sweet-- it is right down the street from me. Freaks me out. My son drove right by it this morning on his way here to pick his puppy up. This is my neighborhood. I don't want to live in this kind of country. I did not grow up in this kind of country. BHC-- I get it, but, sweet, you should check out New Mexico. Further from the front of violence than we are in AZ and CA. I have an aunt and uncle there. krickitt you cant let the actions of one lunatic drive you away from your beautiful state or your city. I know you must feel shocked and scared that this happened in your own neighborhood. But I do believe that this guy is a crazy, deranged individual who will pay dearly for his heinous actions. I hope that something like this will not ever happen again. I do think it is possible that this lunatic's actions were politically charged. There are radical/crazy people out there who will commit an atrocity like this because of their political views. Im worried that others out there will be inspired by this guys actions today.

God some of the things here today are making my skin crawl. We're doomed if people can't even see the perfect storm created by politicians calling for violence against opposing views and other citizens. To believe that somehow, putting a gunsight as a target on our politicians and calls to "take them out" isn't unbelievably wrong and isn't contributing to the state of our country, it's just mind boggling and terrifying to see how many aren't disgusted by it.

What is truly appalling however are those who are so blinded by political agendas as to not see the complete picture and come to terms with the fact that the problem is systemic in nature, preferring instead to lay blame at the feet of anyone other than the actual guilty party, which is the shooter. Maybe those who adopt such arguments do not realize that their argument justifies this persons actions.......or then again maybe they do.

If you can't vote them out, well then just kill them.

If you can't vote them out, well then just kill them. Who do you think actually believes that? Do you really think Sarah Palin believes that? Do you think the Tea Party believes that? There is no movement of killing politicians because you don't like them. The Palin thing with the targets is ugly and another reason why she shouldn't be elected dog catcher, but I personally do not see a movement in this country to kill politicians rather than vote them out. Just my personal opinion, if you disagree thats fine and we can agree to disagree.

I'm sure even Obama has "set his sights" on a few select pieces of legislation, potential political foes, etc. Context, context. context. Further proof of the divisive nature of mankind.

Of course not saver..actually the one who is at fault is the one did the act...however, when it comes to those who are put into positions of leadership, or even put their hats in the ring for those responsibilities, it's not to much to ask of them to show leadership.
Rise to another level from the norm, it is their responsibility to conduct and act responsibly and a lot of that is in their rhetoric and stop with the sound bytes.
At the same time , we who are the ones who decide who obtains those positions , have a responsibility, to let them know we won't tolerate the misuse of the rhetoric , and the way to do that is to turn away from those who don't get that message, even if what they are saying might at times , pleasing to the ear.
To step back and give a good thought to what are they really saying and do I really trust that person to be responsible or is it just another one with a big mouth who is playing it safe to get the position and not really being a person of substance and trust, more into it for themselves not those who they are to serve.

18 people shot?? After reading that..have to wonder, the person couldn't have be lucid when he was in discussions with others, it's hard to believe one can post that way yet be sane in conversation with others a other times. It will be interesting to see what comes out as people who were aquainted with him start coming out of the wood work to tell their stories.

Maybe he shares some similarities with Charles Whitman the Texas Tower Sniper, who was ex-military and had major mental issues. I'm just playing amatuer criminologist.

What I read on his youtube(?) site suggested he was attempting to get into the military. I heard on CNN that he had one brush with the law as an adult and again on his web stuff I read suggestion he was busted for being disruptive in a community college class.

He went to middle school and high school with my kids. My daughter and her friends knew him, but did not hang out with him. I just saw a pic of him on local news-- looks like an average kid at a U of A football game. Handsome, smiling, normal looking. Another weird thing-- a vigil planned for tonight at Gabby's office has been cancelled by law enforcement due to a suspicious package. Remember at the start of this thread I said that corner where the shootings were was closed down most of the day a few weeks ago due to a "suspicious package"?? Coincidence?? Who knows? Plus, on local news an eyewitness said people saw another young man running away from the scene, and police are looking in to that. This whole thing is so bizarre. Too close to home. I go to that store all of the time, my kids went to school with him-- too weird. So far the poor little girl and the judge are the only ones announced to be dead, but Obama said there are more. What a nightmare. I'm so glad all the local and state Pub politicians have come forward, even Jesse Kelly, and denounced this horrible shooting. Of course the local Dems are blahblahblahing that the "other side of the aisle" blahblahblah... like any of us LIKE or APPROVE of this terrible thing.

Looks to me like he was right wing. Declaring the wars are illegal is nothing new to conservatives. References to the current debacle state of the monetary system are usually from a conservative viewpoint. So its not as bad as it seems. Just one individual who basically martyred himself. What happens in the near to mid future though is very uncertain.
