I have a different sort of question... I have a NEARLY complete set of Motor books...any idea where would be a good place to try to sell them?

Not sure on the years anymore...been a long time since I've looked at them. When I said nearly complete...I meant from beginning to end with a few in the middle missing. I made a list once but can't remember where I put the list. ((what happened to our eye roll smiley?)) I don't particularly like ebay....
My next question was going to be what kind of price should I put on them?

I just finished watching a 2 hour show on Speed Channel called Hollywood Hottest Car Chases. Now the movie Ronin does have a fantastic car chase and my brother recommended it for the car chase. But right after the car chase I walked out of the movie theater cause it is one awful fuck'n movie. Also movies that were made when I was age 0 to 4 really doesn't hold my interest. During these two hours I wrote down some movies I might be interested in adding to my Netflix list. Years ago watching a similar show I found out about the original Gone in Sixty Seconds and purchased for my home DVD collection after renting it back then from Blockbuster. Here is the car question - which 3 movies would you recommend for me to rent Vanishing Point (71) / The Driver (78) / Dirty Mary Crazy Larry (74) / The French Connection (71) / or Bullitt (68)?

Loved the Original Gone In Sixty Seconds, but really don't remember any of the others. Besides - I would have been between 1 and 11 for all of these.
You know though, my favorite car chase type movie with a decent plot is "The Italian Job". Makes me want a tempermental Mini..........

Excellent choice! Suz the 2 hours did include both original (which I didn't know about) and the remake "The Italian Job".
my all time favorite move is "Smokie and the Bandit"

You know it was a tough choice between the two for me, but I think "The Italian Job" is a little better! The Bourne movies were good with the car chases too!

not really a question, but a story, riding home recently theres this dodge dakota in front of me, and as we turn and pick up speed i see a rock fly out from underneath the truck, then another one, as i dodge the first rock and look down at the second i realize those arent rocks, they are lug nuts! BRAKE HARD! sure enough the front drivers side tire comes flying off this truck shooting across the other lane and into the ditch. since im right behind this guy i pull in front of him and discover a young man in his early 20,s. first thing i ask is hey buddie that thing have flashers on it? answer-yeah, so why dont you turn them on since your truck is still part way in the road. so i tried using reasoning with this kid but it wasnt working out, such as, since it just droped down on the tierod end and didnt hurt the rotor, i said heres what you can do jack up the front, go get tire, look for lug nuts that fell off, and if all else fails take ONE apiece off the other three wheels and limp it on in to town. well that didnt register, so i kept trying to give him my phone number since tires were just installed by walmart, well he kept trying to give me his # lol, i dont need your #, you need mine ! by this time i figured jr. wasnt playing with a full deck, so i left him there while he was standing in the middle of the road with cars whizzing by. anybody else have any?

Its sad, but most young folks wouldnt know how to even jack up a car let alone change a tire if they needed to. Im sure of he had read his paper work it would have said to retorque the lug nuts after 25-50 miles

I got one for you Rick about my 04 Monte 3.8L. Took a long drive the other day (1.5hours) and about an 1 1/4 hours into the drive the motor felt like it had a miss in it. Actually only did it a few times. My first thought was that I was running out of gas so I pulled off at the next exit and got gas even though I still had a quarter tank of gas left.
Since then I've taken it on a couple 45 minute drives and a few 15 minutes drives uptown, but haven't noticed it again.
If it was electrical wouldn't the computer trip a code?

It would depend on how many times it missed and how often. The PCM will detect a missfire and store it, but may not set a code until it hits the preset parameter. If you scan it, Im sure it will have a pending code stored. Now With GM I have seen exactly what you are talking about and it may never set a light if its that intermittant. I have also seen the Trans cause the same condition if the trans convertor isnt staying in lock up. You get the same feel and it happend so fast you cant see it on the Tach. If you have any buddys with a scanner you can watch the data stream and hopefully catch it that way. If it is a miss fire, I would guess you have a coil going bad and you wont know which one unless its stores a pending code or hood it to a scanner and can get it to happen durning a power balance test
