I love the dancing banana!!
I just calculated what I need to get 50% paid off. Without any major problems coming up I should hit 50% paid off by August or Sept.

Bankergurl - I definitely respond well to "encouragement" - just ask SlowbutSure! Lately, as I anticipate my savings balance decreasing as I finish paying off my home improvement projects, the encouragement I get from the ladies on the board is the only thing keeping my paydown happening!

Great update dsunshine!
Question for the Captains: I am about to make a change to my race - adding debt, as we've decided to get a gravity drain installed in our basement to deal with flooding issues (even if this were going on a credit card, it would be worth it for peace of mind). We're going with a 1 year same as cash credit (we could pay it all at once, but decided we'd rather keep the cushion in savings as long as possible), so no interest. My question (after this drawn out explanation) is what are we using as page designators for this thread?
My current tag line is shanendoah: 3/11/11 $45,120.02 (12/30/09, $71,761.03, WU7, WU73), so will I be adding WPT15 as my updated page number or is it something else?
Thank you

shandoah yes, that is the correct page notation, though honestly I don't know what we use start pages for anymore. I am sure there is a reason, I am sure it made lots of sense to coffeegirl but as of right now it doesn't look like our fearless leader is coming back to join us.
so are you changing the starting debt then?? That usually makes most sense when you "add" debt mid race so you get the most of your smileys!

Did i read that correctly? Coffee girl is gone? Right now, we are working on hearsay. I don't even know if this is a temporary hiatus or not. We are hoping that CG is going to send an official message. Either way, the captains of the different regions are communicating and are committed to keeping the group together. And we are really lucky in the West as we have four captains that have been trained by CG, so you all should see no difference in what is happening today versus a year ago. Speaking of which, we are planning on doing a State of the Union now that people are accustomed to PB. This will happen (for the West) by next weekend. So, if you can, please post an update. Keep concentrating on your goals and keep on racing!

dvm: Yes, I will be changing my "starting" debt to include the new debt, when it hits. Officially, we won't be in debt until the day the work on our basement is done.

Hee, hee. ;D I can only get away with this for a little while, since you are going to pass me soon enough. I might as well enjoy it while I can. Oh, do you mean one of these emoticons? Now, don't hurt yourself. We don't want to lose you.

WIR Report - 3/31 Mcreal: $40,640.31 (4/01/2010 $47277.15 W487, WU68)
Hello - For some reason, I cannot get the columns to post. And it won't delete my entries.
Regardless - here's my update. It has been a hard month. My computer got a virus that wiped it out completely. I had a friend repair and acquire OS and Software cheap - it only cost me $100 to get back on track. But he had the computer for three weeks! But I found that without my daily routine in the morning with my coffee of reviewing my finances on quicken, I began to spend.....I all of a sudden had no idea when certain things were due, it kind of made me crazy - or at least less accountable. I also had unexpected ladies surgery, my deductable is $1000. My EF was wiped clean. Mom's weekend is coming up at DD2 college, she is so excited to have me there. It's going to cost me money I don't have. And then, a month later, I need to drive across state and bring her home. Those trips will be another $500. DD3, the returned lost child, is having trouble finding work. Supporting her until then has put a strain on things. She is up for a second interview this week - we need this to work! Home repair tasks have been costly, and I am avoiding the $5K fence job looming. Now that I have my computer back and have tallied up the damage/forecast - I look to be $800 short at the end of May, when my next bonus will arrive for relief. It will be creative patchwork until then. No savings to draw from. Turtling on the debt until I get thru this, but so very anxious to be under $40K!

Yes - I am using the downloaded table. It worked fine before, I am sure I am doing something wrong. I will check into it when I have more time. But, why won't it delete?

LaramiK here with shout-outs from last week. Sorry I’m late with these. My oldest son is home on leave after a seven month deployment. I haven’t seen him since April. It’s got me discombobulated…but in a good way!
Lvbriannarn – so sorry to hear about the drain on the maternity leave fund. That is discouraging. Perhaps you can make it up before baby comes? Congrats on having a boy! I’ve got three of them. So much fun! dragon2008 – a new party hat to go with your halo! I think it’s Dave Ramsey who says that a typical scenario is that you must pay $10,000 in interest to get $3,000 back in taxes so you are definitely on the right track. onestepcloser – wonderful job having those emergency funds set up! Love that you found that much money in a purse! I’m ecstatic when I find five bucks in a coat pocket! trojen3 – Congratulations on the 0! And the new party hat! dsunshine – Phenomenal update! I’m jealous that you will be in the teens so soon! shanendoah – Looks like everyone has you straightened out on your new tag line. When the time comes just add your new debt to both sides and you’ll get to keep your smileys. mcreal – sorry to hear about the tough month. You are so close to that $40,000 mark. Keep on digging! The mistake I was making when I was struggling with the new table was that I wasn’t copying the first column. Just a thought!
Lastly, I must say that you guys are cracking me up with all the smileys! Too funny!

;D I don't know about anybody else, but I am going to be here a long, long, long time (optimistic goal is end of 2017), so it is very helpful to have a racing buddy (even if it is one that you don't obviously state out loud). Dragon is being very supportive by letting me pick on her; I'm hoping that she will do the same to me once she passes me. Although as dvm stated, I will get off the $100K list before she does. ) So pick a buddy to race with; it'll help you stay focused. All - Speaking of which, we are going to have a new list of smileys next week. If you haven't voted yet, go back a couple of pages (post 385 on page 13) and let us know.

I have to agree with DVM that SBS will be the first off the $100K board - argh!! But I'll be first off the $50-100K one, by gum! Bwah-ha-ha! (it just doesn't have the same ring, though - does it?)
