I can't make my text bold, but I hope my update is okay anyway. I've paid off 30% and nearly doubled my savings! In a little less than a year. OK----wow! Being off the boards for a couple of weeks sure brings a lot of changes! I was looking forward to my two weeks off at the end of December but ended up sick for the first week . I think I had the same thing that Suz had. So, it wasn't until after Christmas that I started to feel better. I also had the same "blah's" that others had too. Not sure what was going on this year....

On Christmas Eve I received a call from my bank about my credit card account. Seems that someone got my number and made another card and used it extensively in New York. Over $1200 later, my credit card has been cancelled and I have filled out the fraud form to have the charges credited to my account. That's the first time something like this has happened to me and I feel so violated!

I plan to sit down with DH this next week and come up with our goals and I'll post here when that's done. Wasn't ready to go back to work today and start the grind over again, but me staying in bed with the covers over my head wasn't going to make today go away!

I hope everyone has a good 2011!

I had to go back to work this week and it is so difficult to wake up! I'm almost afraid not to work after this contract is up for fear I won't ever want to work again! Strangely enough, the idea of paying off my bills is what is making me come into work. I am keeping my eye on the prize and know that the only way I can get there is to keep the income coming in.

Yesterday I had an interview for a job that isn't even really open right now. There is a possibility for me to work just 4 days a week there which might be nice. I keep wavering on the idea of just staying home with my mom and working. I'm looking into just trying to pick up a few kids/adults privately to give me some money and staying home for most of the time.

Considering that I don't have to write the date on many pieces of paper any longer, I think I'm still in denial that 2011 is here. Where is the time disappearing?

Administrative update! Hey everyone! I'm sorry that I have been out of the loop so much during this transition. I was scheduled to be out of town where I knew I would have no internet, and then I came home to no internet either. A snow plow took out a pole and the temp connection was spotty for a day or two, but now appears to be back up and running.
Emails - I have received tons of email addresses, and I am updating the regional sheets with them now that I have internet access again.
ProBoards - I am guessing that we will be here for a little while (at least a few months, probably thorugh the summer). I am looking for a more permanent home for the Racers, one that will suit all of our needs, and also be a place where we can grow and expand! Please forward any ideas you might have for me to my email: cgwirr at gmail dot com. I know that we have PM here on the new boards, BUT it's easier for me if I keep everything in one place.
Smiley Faces - since I have not been able to spend time on proboards yet, I asked all the lovely volunteers to begin studying how we can work on this site, I should be catching up with them soon. We'll figure it out!
Updates - Please put your updates in these threads for the time being, and hopefully by next week we'll have "permanent" proboards WIRR threads that will be a bit more organized. Again, I'm sorry that this all happened as I was getting ready to go out of town, but we had a great response and will be able to work here for a while!

Hi All. I'm not posting, as I have to wait until I get paid at the end of the month, but I am posting my goals for 2011. Today is the 1 year anniversary of my joining WIR, and I need to be more vigilant about paying off debt. I was only able to pay off ~$4800 last year, but am really optimistic about this year. Looking at my budget, I'll at least be able to pay off $10,000 this year (as in actual debt, not counting interest). My goal is to get to $35,000. For those of you who've been with me on this journey, I turn 40 in June and was planning on taking a Caribbean cruise; however, it was going to be too expensive and I was going to be left holding the bag because, once again, my sister was not able to come up with her share of the cabin. So, I cancelled in plenty of time to get my deposit back and will instead go to Charleston, SC. That's a place that I've always wanted to visit both for its history and architecture, so I'm looking forward to it. I will have enough saved where nothing has to be put on a credit card and I'm excited about that. Plus, two of my good friends will be accompanying me and they're excited as well. So, this seems to be the year, finally, that I start making financial decisions that work best for ME without feeling guilty about doing so. Hope everyone's new year has gotten off to a great start thus far.

It’s my 3 year anniversary. WOW! Here is a quick update….I obviously went backwards. CC1 increased due to a last minute trip back home. CC2 is a balance transfer from CC4 that I was unable to pay completely back in October due to DH’s job loss. It is a 0% until next January that I hope to pay within that time frame. The EF dropped low due to needing it to cover basics until DH gets paid. DH is working again, Praise the Lord, but it is the night shift right now (6pm-6am) & it’s very difficult with DS, who got very spoiled spending all day everyday with DH. It’s been a rough few nights here since we got back from NW Texas. I’ll post an anniversary reflection later.

Good morning everyone! Feeling good about my start to 2011 - so far I have spent $9 this year on my debit card (amazon) and everything else I have spent is from the $100 bill I got from my CFO for Christmas. I just don't have much of a desire to spend money right now, I am even taking my lunch to work. Hopefully this frugal start will be with me for a little while. Waiting on pay day, rent check, and escrow refund check and then I hope to post a good payoff for the beginning of the year! Have a great day everyone.

RE: TABLES - Yes, they are tricky at first, but if you have any trouble when you go to try one yourself (like you think you did it right and the table doesn't show up at all/is messy) just copy and paste what you typed as your post and email it to nasagreen at hotmail dot com or PM me here. I don't mind helping and once you have the format down, you can just copy and paste your last post and only update numbers (i.e. leave all the table formatting in place and work around it).

To do updates, just fill in the columns with your debts and delete whatever rows you don't need. It should help you a lot because all you have to do is fill in the $0 amounts on each row for each "Name" of the debt (you can change the name of the debt too). Here is what the table looks like:
