Don't they know I'm in a race here? This cracked me up. But that is crazy that they don't inform you that your account has been sold to another creditor. How were you supposed to know where to send a payment? Good to see you Bramoney! I don't know what you tried or what the problem was when you tried to post. If you have the codes from the previous site with stuff in the brackets, you can copy that and when you post it here, click on the tab that is BBCode. If you have just a regular spreadsheet, copy that and paste it after you click the tab that is "visual". If the tab is a lighter shade, then that is the one that is active. I hope that solves some of your problems. I did my taxes on TaxAct but for some reason I can't use the free version, possibly because I started them using the "full" version. So now I am going to try to redo them using TurboTax on their free edition. I didn't have enough deductions to not use the standard deduction this year but next year things should be a lot different. It probably takes me longer to input all my information than it does to go thru the rest of the forms. At least I'm getting a decent refund, right?

UPDATE atxracer: 3/14/13, $44,524.28 (9/26/12, $47,837.51 PB141)
Glad to see that others are inching along, and I'm not the only one who feels like they are taking baby steps right now! It's hard to not get frustrated when things aren't decreasing as quickly as I'd like. As long as the balance is going down, that's all I should care about! To focus on the positive, my SL is now under the $25k mark! $0 just seems so far away!

Goalofzero: congrats on those TWO NEW ZEROs and...Happy WIRRVERSARY! Two years down, just slightly less than 1/2 paid off! It looks like you're going to have another ZERO pretty soon as well.
Rah Rah Rah Shish Koom Bah Hit that debt in the head With a big Kielbasa!
ATXracer: You keep moving your bottom line in the "right" direction and that's all that matters. Take it from me because I've only paid off like 1% of my new debt! This whole year! Is there any way you can break down your debt, even part of that student loan, into a smaller chunk so that you have something to celebrate? Remember, everyone's race has a different length of track and few of us are using the same type of car to get to that checkered flag!
It's sort of funny that I should use that analogy because when I was making a lot of money and could pay down my debt quickly, my car was running great and was quite fast! Now, I'm struggling more than I have in many years and my car is starting to give me grief (although it is still quite zippy).

Wow, it took me a long time to get registered on the new format. I didn't register my name correctly. I'd like to keep my online name as pay-no-interest.
pay-no-interest: Update! 03/15/13 $102,400.00
Not much is going on here. We are saving a lot of money, investing some of it (with not so successful results; so discouraging) and working a lot. My accreditation visit is in April and I really can't wait for that month to be over. I think I will be able to teach summer school which will bring in another $5K.
I hope all is well with everyone!

redracerris - i know! i feel bad not keeping up with things. i still have a problem viewing the boards from a computer, your picture for example is the entire screen width and i have to look hard for the text in the posts. moonbeam thinks it is my filter set up by work, but if that were the case, then i wonder why its the same at home.

Sorry I was missing in action. We kept trying to make principal payments on our remaining loan, and they kept taking less for the monthly scheduled payment. We felt like we weren't making any progress at all. We paid half of our smallest loan last month and the rest this month. We also have a new loan, and if you'd like me to add it, I will. It's for 12 months. We are going to try to get some momentum this year on paying this stuff off. It will be so good to be done with payments. <br><br>We have a big garden planned this year. We've been working on a nice layout and building a secure enough fence to keep the chickens out (so far so good)... Our goat had a kid. It is so so so cute!!!! Our barn project can start rolling again with the weather kind of warming up a little. We need to work on stalls and whatnot but the shell is up, at least. We took one of the chilluns to get a learners permit, so we've been practicing driving. I'll be alright. I'll get my voice back from all the screaming eventually We started making jelly at home again. I didn't like the ingredients in the affordable jelly, so we started making it using store bought juice for now. The kids seem to like it, and I'm glad to share canning with them. I'm thinking about getting a cell phone. It would have to be a plan, because the cheaper services don't cover our area. We were looking at how much communication is costing. We already changed long distance carriers, but I still think a cell phone would be good. I admit it... my big plan is this.... Mommy calls home.... Ring Ring... Child: "Hello?" Mommy: "Please bring us some water" I can hardly wait to do that <img text=" " alt=" " src="http://syonidv.hodginsmedia.com/vsmileys/rofl.gif"> Hugs to ya!

So quick update on me, DH has finally agreed to put more money towards debt, YAY! It is also spring break up here in Alaska, so I am taking this time to work on our business. Did the taxes on it, a whopping $300ish in profits last year. It will all go back into the business. No loans, we are building it up from ground zero. Check us out at jnlcreative.com . There are some resources that I am going take advantage of. Also, I am getting off my ass and have made a routine to follow on the weekdays that I am not substituting or photographing. It is working out well so far. Everyone is going in the right direction, good work! redracerris: I can hardly stop laughing at your little guy. How cute. Glad you are doing so well, and glad you are getting a business going. So spill it, what's your routine? Muffyinthered: Sorry for your friends woes. I'd say she is lucky to have a good friend to help her through, so she can be a better support for him.... Look at the total payout on your credit card! I know you'll be glad to get that paid off! It is so good to see everyone, and hopefully I can get added back to the race. I tried to update a while back and had an issue with my email and I just didn't make it back here to post ..... Happy Thursday!

UPDATE: CraftySarah: 3/21/2013 $53,743.12 (2/26/2011 $77,970.68 STP25)
...stupid student loan company grumble grumble grumble... Well, I have found where they transferred my loan, and I was able to make a payment. Unfortunately the $250 I sent them right before the transfer is still MIA. Hope it isn't lost to the ether.
But $24,227.56 down and one step closer to the $50k and under crowd.

3js: so good to see you again! Are those NEW Zeros? Good for you! I would think it's up to you if you want to add in that new loan. I have a small balance on a CC that I'm not racing and I don't put my AmEx on here because I pay it off monthly.
I am so looking forward to this weekend. My sister and her family are coming into town and my niece and I are going to Discovery Cove (www.discoverycove.com) on Sunday. It's a SeaWorld park where you can snorkel, hang out on beaches, and you get to swim with dolphins! She has always loved dolphins and she is graduating from HS this year so that is her present from me....and then I have someone to share it with too! My nephew is also graduating and I have no idea what to do for him. I'd rather give them an experience than money: he'll forget what I got him if I give him money but he can always look back on the memories.
I've been starting to have issues with my Jeep and have been looking at buying a just-used car. I had to take the Jeep in to get the a/c fixed (wasn't going to go thru the FL summer with no a/c) and they found probably the main source of my oil leak and were able to fix it for just a couple hundred $s. So if I stop losing oil and my a/c blows cold, I might just keep my Jeep (even though it is, comparatively speaking, a gas hog). Every month I keep it is $ in my pocket that could have been put toward a car payment. Plus, I'm still not making anywhere near what I used to so a car payment would be somewhat of a hardship at this point. <sigh>...that's me...the broken record.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!

speech! It's so good to see you, too. What a neat thing to share with your niece. Yeah, we got a new zero, and the new purchase is equipment that we got a handy 0% convenient check for just when we were thinking about buying. Credit cards aren't all bad I hope your car stays cool and full, but it might be a good idea to start making a payment to your car fund, just in case. It's a good way to see what you can handle comfortably. I've been absent, so did you stay with the office you weren't sure about, or did you move to the other? This is my second reply, my first one was better, but after hitting the wrong reply and losing it, I'm so sad and tired Hope you have the best time when your family comes in

Quick UPDATE Forwardwego: 3/26/13 $8765.00 (6/19/11 $26,180.00 STP64)
Thanks for the updates & shoutouts! Redracerris yes, that's our plan to knock out the dental bill with the 0% expiring in Dec. DH & i are a check "ahead" in June & December so those 2 "windfalls" are a big part of the plan. Congrats on your DH's increased income and his acceptance of putting more $$ to debt reduction. congrats Redruby on your upcoming under $75K update muffy congratulations on under $80K soon thanks procras108r for your insights that keep me so motivated when there are times that tempt me to say "this is too hard." Congratulations jdnstl on being at $6700 and driving a soon-to-be free and clear automobile!! And close to graduating to the $5500 club!!! speechchick thank you for your contributions as co-captain. It can be very hard to make a living in FL. Our DD does pediatric occupational therapy here in Florida and is often subject to the "no call/no show", and her paycheck suffers. carolinakat I hope your job search goes smoothly with good results! Nice update, and good job having your finances so well under control so that this job snag isn't as bad as it could be!! dimplsnlj yea for 28% paid! flex congratulations on the update and best wishes for the wedding!! trojen3 and classof2015 you both are running a nice fast race pace nasa & craftysarah racing strong and setting a fine example of racing endurance Bramoney$ As usual you are so refreshing and encouraging. Nice update, a little over $10K, but I think you need to fill in one of the final 3 digits.

Wow, you are running a great race, Forward. I am cheering for you Does anyone know how to add our dozer loan to this? Just add it to the beginning total, and the current total and add the new page? It may as well count toward the payoff WIRR make. Thank you for any suggestions.

Good Morning! 3sjmom Thanks for the shoutout WIRRfriend! You would be contributing a lot toward our southern $5million goal by adding in your dozer loan. I'm probably not adding in mine and DH's dental loans to our race because it would more than double our owed balance and mentally that would set me back. Our race is going so slowly! As for you adding in the dozer, that seems to make sense to me because your race is going quickly. So I'm conflicted here, suggesting you do one thing while I do the other. I'd appreciate your thoughts on this. atxracer Congrats on over $3300 paid, at $5 K you get a winky smiley and that will be fun goalofzero Yea for 2 new zeros!! Which account do you have targeted for your next zero? speechchick Love that cheer for goalofzero. Enjoy your weekend and "special dolphin fun" with your family. Like procras108r pointed out, it is so fun to be the Aunt who can afford to spend time and a bit of money without worrying. PS my latest update is for you, me, and any other number geeks, a countdown 8,7,6,5 paynointerest congratulations on $102K, and approaching the 50% paid mark on your mortgage. I love the moment of crossing over 50% and visualizing a scales tipping in your favor. Over 70% paid and over 90% paid are two of my other favorite milestones. 70% is often the pass/fail mark on major exams, and 90% is an entry level "A"... Congrats to both redracerris and paynointerest as you graduate to under $100K Nasagreen thank you for your many years of service as captain! It seems very challenging to serve as captain or co-captain, especially when we have changed locations. Many thanks! craftysarah, any news on your $250 payment? I'm guessing it was an electronic payment, not a paper check?? Businesses are becoming so unbusinesslike. Major detail failures. I'm glad the $250 wasn't any bigger, and hope it lands somewhere soon.

UPDATE: Trojen3: 3/27/13; $86,051.77 (8/24/12 $99,479.89)
Name of Debt Current Debt Starting Debt Total Paid % Paid Off Car Loan $0 $2,201.08 $2,201.08 100% SL #1 - Sallie Mae $0 $1,491.42 $1,491.42 100% SL#2 - Grad PLUS $44,079.45 $46,338.33 $2,258.88 4.87% SL#3 - Grad PLUS $27,079.15 $28,852.49 $1,773.34 6.15% SL#4 - Private $14,893.17 $20,596.57 $2,847.71 13.83% TOTAL $86,051.77 $99,479.89 $13,428.12 13.5%
FINALLY making the progress I want to on SL #4. I hate that it's been dragging on. We ended up with a tax refund this year. I had $7600 saved for taxes which we gladly got to reapportion to other things. DH paid off some cc debt, we boosted our emergency savings and we alloted for some future travel plans. With all that said and done, SL #4 should start decreasing drastically. Can't wait to get rid of it!

Nice work, dimples! You blew past the 25% mark and just keep on going ! forward, I had the same thought, and then I found my nuggets... We can add this loan without adding time to the race, and without being put back on the over 50k list. Yup, before that it was making me cry mentally. We'll make minimum payments until the promo dries up, then do the pay in full, so it's a crawler (funny since it's a crawler tractor ) for now .... My thoughts on your dental: Hmmmm, if it adds time to your race, it will be hard, and racing is hard enough. Only add it if you can find a way to digest it mentally. And if it would add time, you can always race it when you finish this one. Don't feel conflicted about it. And here's a hug, I've missed you Way to go, trojen3. You've made good use of the "windfall" . I have missed everyone. It was so quiet here around Christmas, it was lonely.

The chilluns and I went to a poultry show last night. I didn't take much money, and that's a good thing, as I think they are all adorable. We came home empty handed, but I got a contact for the type of bird/s I went looking for. We are going to try to make an incubator (experiment), and with any luck we can replace some chickens that the neighbors dog has killed. The sun was out yesterday so I got some prep work done on our garden, and the sun is out today, so after I hit reply, I'm out of here Last year I did some "gardening by the square foot" and enjoyed it so much. The plants in the raised bed were huge compared to plants in our amended garden soil, the difference was definitely noteworthy. They were very productive until the chickens figured out how to get into my garden fence and found my raised bed to be the perfect spot to make nests..... Anyway, we put in a few more raised beds that I have to fill up. A while back we improved the fence. I've been putting tempting things in the garden, and they haven't gone in to investigate, so crossing fingers... I can hardly wait to get started! Hitting reply, so bye-bye

there have been some good posts here. good job everyone on their updates. sorry i don't remember them all. i haven't been on here for a few weeks. my race is going to slow down A LOT & probably increase. as i told you all with my last update, they cut our hours at the beginning of the month. then for the second half of the month they furloughed everyone, which means that we got $0 net pay but were paid enough gross to cover our benefit cots. we were supposed to find out after thursday's board meeting if the company will be closing & everyone is officially laid off or not. well, still no word. it's wrong the way the chairman has run things since firing the CEO. i've been applying like crazy for other jobs for 3 months but haven't heard anything. during the last 2 weeks, knowing that i would have a $0 paycheck yesterday, i have charged everything. it's not much, just a couple of grocery runs & a gas fill-up, but it will still set me back in either payoff or saving goals. i have the money in savings to pay but i don't want to pull it until i absolutely have to. so much for getting my car paid off in a quick manner. *sigh* i'll be back to update when i get back home, spending a little easter time with my dad & stepmom.
Happy Easter WIRR!
