I live in a small town but really close to a big city. The best of both worlds. And pretty close to the beach too. I have neighbors close by, but I love where I live.

I live in a small town (+/- 50,000) that is about a half hour from a major metro area. It is the best of both worlds - quiet and not crowded where we live, but close enough to a metro area so that we can enjoy professional sports or a concert from time to time.

I live in the city. I have neighbors where if I look out my window I see in their window. ( So I keep those blinds closed all the time) I love the city since I can never run out of things to do and great restaurants that are not in any chain. I don't know my neighbors and really don't care to. I mind my business and hope they do the same.

An extremely small town--- less than 2,000 people. And I love it after moving from Denver. We have no traffic!

I was close to your neck of the woods this past summer, meghan. I was in Nazareth visiting the Martin guitar factory. I had to google it, I had no idea where that town is! Isn't Nazareth in Palestine?

There's about 500,000 in our town ~ I guess that qualifies as a city?

I must have a different idea of a small town than everyone else too. I live down the shore in a town that has 19000 in the summer and it feels majorly crowded! The other 9 months of the year we only have about 5000. Most of the town is pinelands Forrest so I would call it pretty rural. 85,000 is a city to me. I have no idea how that is a small town. I was thinking the same thing. I saw someone else posted very, very, very small town for close to the population where I live. We're at 14k or so and spread out pretty well. And, we don't have a Walmart--closest one is 20 miles away in a smaller town. City Councel approved one to come in, in an industrial area, and most townspeople aren't so happy. I'll be moving to rural in the next couple years. There will be a post office (if it doesn't get closed) and a fire hall. No neighbors can be seen from the house, and I'm guessing the population of the town and a few little towns surrounding it is around 200, spread over several miles.

I had to google it, I had no idea where that town is! Isn't Nazareth in Palestine? There, and Northampton County, which an hour north from me.

I live in a small town I refer to as Maybury. The only thing that keeps me sane is I am within driving distance to Detroit. I would probably go insane if I lived way out in the country.

We live in rural suburbia, in a town with a population of 15,000 spread over 29 square miles.

I live in the middle of Houston, population estimated at 2.3 million folks. When we moved here in the 90's I said if I was going to live in the city, I wanted to live in the city so we are 5 to 30 minutes away from all the major state and interstate highways, depending on construction and who hasn't learned to drive yet. The road noise used to keep me awake; now the neighbors and I discuss the gunfire as in, "Did you hear the shots last night?", and "Yeah, but it was only a 32, nothing to worry about." I never thought I would learn that 2 hours a day commuting is no big thing; heck, you're not a Texan if you don't cross city limit signs a couple of times during your daily commute. I love the urban experience if you can call it that. Today I had a really big possum on my back fence but I'm grateful I don't have feral hogs like my suburban neighbors. In this amazing city I can eat from any cuisine in the world, worship in any faith tradition, and hear every music imaginable. I've lived in small and mid-sized towns and it just didn't work for me. I needed a city so diverse that no one is an outsider and Houston was it. In case you can't tell, I'm really in love with my adopted hometown.

Our suburb is out in the country but we are also a small town close to Orlando. I'm not sure if we have tiers. This is Florida after all.

I think the city has 500k. This complex was totally supposed to be outside the city according to the rental guide. The surrounding area is 2.7 million. We are very close (~1.5 hours) to another major metro area with 5.5 million. Many people live in one and commute to the other. If I had to commute between the two everyday I might hurt someone even with using public transportation for a big chunk of it. I do it when work calls for it but after a week of it I'm exhausted.

I live a few miles outside a town of about 60,000. I definitely would not want to move to a large city.

Los Angeles Population: Too many to count I become both suicidal and homicidal every time I have to drive through LA! God Bless you for being able to live there I detest this place. I hate the weather--I like seasons and I really like rain--the people, the crowded roads, never being able to find a parking spot, and the expense! It's just not worth it.
