Ruby I am on the last pkgs of Kraft shred & parmesan. Ran out of the bar cheese a LOOONG time ago. For a few min this am it looked like Meijer had a GREAT deal this week but their Kraft pkg are WAAAY smaller than EVERY other I have ever seen in any store. However, Food4Less does have the Kroger bar & shred cheese on sale this week. I will check on my stock and against Aldi pricing (my NEED it NOW store. I know about squeeze on the budget. I HAVE to have $750 work done on my car ASAP. Ouch! That bites but the alternative to being without wheels is worse. I saw those itty bitty bags of cheese at Meijer too. People were picking them up and then putting them back after they saw how little they were. SaveinLA: I already signed up for the milk Q. That'll be nice to use.

I am planning on getting some of the Cottonelle at Wags on Sunday, and also some of the Celadrin that's free after RR. I have been looking for some items to roll back and forth, to keep my out of pocket down. I saw on MFA today that there is a month-long deal on Keri lotion starting Sunday. It's $6.99 and you get a $5 RR. There are $2 coupons in the 4/17 SS (note: these expire on Sunday!!) and also some in the 7/17 SS. Free lotion is a good thing, and I need the $5 RRs to get the Celadrin.
ETA: I see that the Keri will be $5.99 the week of 8/7, so it will be a better deal if you can wait a week...

I do have a question on the rain checks. When he wrote them up he put in the multiple quantity that I wanted. For example, I wanted 4 of the Dove soap, so he gave me 1 piece of paper/ rain check, and the quantity was 4. My question, do I have to buy 4 when I redeem them, or could I use this one piece of paper/rain check on 4 separate trips? My understanding is that CVS rain checks are a "surrender at purchase" instrument. This means they keep it when you use it. You can use a rain check that says quantity 4, to only buy one, but you will not get it back to do anymore transactions either. So you will have to decide how many you want when you use it. I would think there is nothing stopping you from stopping again today and asking for another rain check though. My CVS will just mark out the quantity purchased and let me keep the raincheck until I am able to get the quantity specified.

dancinmama: I thought the salad kits were 2/$4 last week but it was the ones with just the lettuce. I'm going to get two kits this week (1 light Caesar and 1 Asian). I'll use 2/$2 q's and a $1/$5 produce q which will make them .50 ea. I'll probably get two more next Tuesday before the sale ends and the $1/$5 q's expire (Aug.3) so we'll have plenty of salad.
murphath: Okay, thanks sooo much for the info. I didn't know if I could stack the $1/$5 with the $2 Fresh Express Qs or not. I imagine that I have to give the $1/$5 first, yes? I think I'm going to do EXACTLY what you are - buy a couple today or tomorrow and buy a couple more on Tuesday before the $1/$5 expires. I love Chinese chicken salad, so I think the Asian will be my choice too.
Thanks so much again for sending those Qs. I REALLY appreciate it. [image] Dancinmama: I don't think we'll have a problem since the salad kits are in the produce section. Lettuce is produce, afterall! And the FE q's are a man q for SW only and the $1/$5 q is a SW q so all should be okie dokie. murphath: Stacking them worked slick as snot. I got one Asian and one Chicken Caesar. We ate the Asian one tonight. It was definitely $.50 good ; definitely not $3 (sale price) good.

COUPON POLICY CHANGES AT CVS Unfortunately, CVS has made some changes to their coupon policy that will decrease our savings: A $/1 coupon will no longer be accepted with a BOGO coupon. You can not longer use (2) $/1 coupons on a BOGO sale. (Translation: No more overage from coupons when there is a BOGO sale. I used this strategy to get my free TP stockpile ) The good news is that you can still use a BOGO coupon on a BOGO sale. I read this on iheartcvs so YMMV.

Regarding CVS Rain Checks: How the rain check is handled when I have a limit of 4 on a rain check and they only have 1 on the shelf totally depends on the cashier. Some will cross out the 4 and change it to a 3. Others will rewrite the entire rain check with the new amount.
In the past, if I had a rain check with any quantity at CVS, I did not have to redeem it for the quantity on the rain check EVEN IF they had the quantity available in the store. This allowed me to use rain check items as fillers. I have a very strong feeling that this will not be allowed going forward.

EASTERN HOUNDSI always get a little nervous about catalina deals that are not advertised in the WAGs insert. I know that the CAT has printed for them in the past, but IF it doesn't there is no ad to fall back on and it's not like the manager can force a print like they can at CVS. Soooo, if any of you eastern hounds plan to do this deal (it might help if I posted which deal - Cottonelle) first thing Sunday morning and get back home shortly thereafter, would you mind posting that it went "slick as snot". I'll also be looking for any comments about it on HCW. TIA

I got an email from Coffeemate that sent me to Facebook so that I could like their new product (in hopes of getting a coupon - didn't happen).
The new product is called Natural Bliss and there does happen to be a $.55/1 in this weekend's RP inserts. I am hoping for a great sale somewhere that will "entice me" to buy it.

I just got a call from my favorite CVS manager who told me I won the drawing for a $25.00 CVS giftcard. A couple of weeks ago she showed my on my receipt where there was a survey code, similar to Rite Aid, and I called in the survey and brought my receipt back with my info on the back. Are any of your stores doing this?

TIA Dancin - I had received a cat "advertisement" at my Sfwy a number of weeks back that said the Cottonelle would be buy 2 get $3.50 cat, buy 3 or more, get $4.50 cat. Dates listed are 7/8-7/31/11. However, I have heard some people on other sites talk about different dates on this cat. I've heard that in different parts of the country, dates are different on cats. However, this one does seem to be national....so keeping my fingers crossed for you that all will work out well!

Would it be possible for us to start the August Grocery Challenge today?
I'm just thinking that it would be good to start talking about this upcoming week's deals, and it would be nice not to split it into 2 threads.

These are the deals that I REALLY dislike cuz you just don't know what is going to REALLY happen. Even though it usually turns out for the best, I'm not a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants kind of gal.

I'm not either DancinMama. I hope it works out for you. You might want to check the 7/31 Wags thread on slickdeals before you go to Wags that day. I bet someone will have posted on whether that works or not.

dancinmama, I went to www.couponnetwork.com where they list most of the catalina deals for your area and for me, it said it was valid until 7/29/2011. You have to login and go to the tab called yourbucks offer to see all the catalina deals for your area.

On the moneysavingmadness site there's a link to print a BOGOF 32 oz. package of Johnsonville brat burgers and also a $1.00 Q. Has anyone tried these? We love the regular brats but I've never seen these before.

Hello all. I have a quick question about an upcoming RR deal at WAGs. Next week, Pantene Hair Care is 2/$7, with a $2 RR. I have a Q for one FREE Pantene Shampoo or Conditioner. Can I use the Free Q on one of the Pantenes and still get the RR? That would be 2/$3.50 which I think is a VERY good deal for Pantene.

I have a couple interesting CVS thoughts and observations...wondering if others have noticed this.
1. I don't think that EB's that are force printed (like when you redeem a raincheck) are tied to your card. I could be wrong, cuz I know they scan your card prior to printing the EB, but I had a $7 EB that had been force printed a couple weeks ago, and when looking at my ExtraCare Account online, it does not show this EB....Interesting...and I just spent it today so I can't even check to see if it has the card number on it.
2. I redeemed a couple rain checks today that had EB's (in order to use a 5/25) and the cashier offered to take the $5 off my current order instead of force printing the EB's! Since I was buying beer in my transaction, which you can't use EB's on, I said "heck yeah!". The cashier offered to do this...I've never had that experience before, and she seemed pretty knowledgable...Interesting...

I got cereal at Raley's today for $1.00 per box. I know it isn't free, but with school getting ready to start it was good enough for me to stock up. There aren't many deals freap at Raley's so this was a surprise. Buy at least 4 boxes of Cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Golden Grahams, Trix (maybe a couple others?) and they are $1.50 per box. Also included is Gushers and Fruit by the Foot. I used numerous $1.00/2 Cereal Coupons and $.50/1 Cheerios and $.50/2 Gushers coupons. My kids won't eat plain Cheerios, so they are going to the church pantry. But I have 8 boxes of cereal to start school with. Also, I went to Wags because I really needed square boxes of Kleenex. It is BOGOF and I had $.50/2 coupons. I paid with my ATM card and I saw that the catalina/RR machine spit something out. The clerk took it, tore it in half and put it in the garbage. I was so shocked, and running late for work, that I walked out without saying anything. The more I thought about it, the more shocked I was. I'm going back tomorrow to speak with the manager about it.

Constanz - I seem to recall them saying something to the effect of, "We're sorry your EB's didn't print..." and I don't remember seeing my name on them. So I think you may be correct. However, I went through my pile and I don't have any at this time either.

I know recently there have been some advertisements spitting out of the cat machine at Wags. My cashiers usually ask me first if I want them, and then offer to throw them out. That's what your clerk should have done...but...to reassure you - I don't think you missed out on a RR. Perhaps she threw out a coupon which wouldn't be cool. I hang onto all those cat coupons - you never know if they'll come in handy! It was a cat coupon from Wags that I used on the Kleenex!

Thanks Leanna, I was pretty sure there were no RR's or anything. But what it spits out, belongs to me. If I want to throw it out, then I will. I was just kind of surprised she would do that. Next time I would definitely say something.

To DancinMama & anyone else who wants to do the Cottonelle deal at Wags:
According to someone's post on Slickdeals, on the Catalina site, it says you have to print out the catalina deal by 7/29, but when you actually print it out it says the cat is good until 7/31. That explains the confusion.
To p8nt:
I'm sure you'll get your Wags cashiers "trained" to give you everything that comes out of the cat machine. At Safeway, I usually have to ask for my coupons that spit out, because I think I'm one of only a few people who want 'em!
