At CVS, I wanted to use one of my 10$ ECB , since I had 2 of them and I am not sure if there will be any deals in the coming weeks. I also had a 5$/25 in my account. So here's what I did. HE Styler - 3*2.49 - used 3 3$ MQ HE Shampoo & Condr - 3*2.49 - used 3 1$ MQ Colgate Maxfresh TP - 3*2.5 - used 3 0.75 MQ Scott ES TP 12 pk - 1*7.49 - used 1$ MQ Caliber Notebook - 2*.25 Used 5$/25 Q & 10 ECB. Paid 15 cents + tax and received a 10$ Gas Card. I had a $10EB (from the Hawaiian Tropic deal) and used them to buy Pepsi products at $2.50 each, buying three and using the $2.50 left to cover CRV and a filler. There ought to be a couple of good soda deals between now and Labor Day and then the next really good one (and usually the best of the year) will be for the Super Bowl. Oh geez, the NFL better get that contact negotiated so we can get our cheap soda next year.

Yep...that 3/15 coupon has made so many items free for me. Without it...well...RA will be lonely without seeing me every week or 3 times a week. LOL leanna: I feel particularly badly for you because RA was your "big game". I sure wish you were not in a test area for the new WAGs program. You'd think that WAGs would sh.... or get off the pot with that. How long are they going to test that darn thing before they realize that people are not going to go for it? Great job at K-Mart. My mom called me a couple of weeks ago to tell me that they had eggs for $.50 and Bar-S bacon for $1.99; unfortunately the closest K-Mart to me is 25 miles away - a little too far to go for bacon and eggs or any double coupons for that matter. Thanks DancinMama. It'll be ok though. I am seriously stocked up on so many drugstore items. I enjoy the sport of couponing, but if I can't do it as much I'll turn my attention to other things.

murphath: The salad kits will be on sale next week 2/$6. Did you say that you had seen them for 2/$5?
Also, are they good on ANY Fresh Express Salad Kit?
DH loves sugar snap peas so I will be using that and my $1/$5 produce coupon to get those....or maybe those can't be stacked. Hmmmm.....
I don't know what I would do without my Mexican markets. Nectarines at Safeway: $1.69/lb. Nectarines at Nob Hill: $1.49/lb. Nectarines at Arteagas: $.69/lb. <-- yep, those are the ones that I'll be buying. ;D

The prices are at LEAST half what my natl chains charge.

For RubySlippers and anyone else who gets the $2 skincare coupon from RA:I've come up with a deal to get a RA brand bodywash for .50 using this coupon. I checked the price on RA brand bodywash today. At my little RA there is one size for $3.99 and another size for $4.99. I have a set of RA coupons on my computer (attached.) There is a $2 coupon off of the 24 oz RA brand bodywash. Unfortunately I didn't write down the sizes for those prices I checked out today. So, let's presume the 24 oz one is $4.99. Use your RA Wellness+ card, get a 10% discount, so: Price: $4.49 Skincare coupon -$2.00 RA Bodywash coupon -$2.00 OOP .49 (+tax if applicable) You can only do this deal once because the RA bodywash coupon says "Limit one per customer." Also, it says "Savings does not apply to sale-priced items or sale offers." And, in case anyone is wondering about using 2 RA coupons on 1 product, this is legit (although unusual.) According to RA coupon policy, you can use one coupon coded RC48 and one coded RC49. (You can't use two RC48's on one purchase or two RC49's.) The skincare one is coded RC49 and the one I've attached is an RC48. I usually only post deals after I've tried 'em out, to make sure they work. But, I'm actually not going to use my skincare coupon for this, as I believe I have about 5 years worth of bodywash. Instead, I'm going to buy lotion with it, because I don't have much lotion. Leanna: Thanks so much for the bodywash idea. I have the 20% discount so I should be able to get it for $3.99. Also, next week's sale is BOGO50% and I have two of those Q's. As far as the surveys go, are they being phased out completely by Rite Aid or is it just a glitch in their system? I was just starting to get again after going through a long dry spell without getting a single one of them.

rubyslippers Rite Aid has ended the 3/15 coupon. They posted it last night on their facebook page. You can no longer take the survey and get a coupon. They SAY that they will honor any still valid codes printed on the receipt, that you just have to present the receipt with code at the time of purchase to get the $3/15 off your order. We'll see...I have 2 that I hadn't entered yet (ONE I JUST GOT YESTERDAY...SHEESH!) and 1 printed that I was going to use tomorrow. If ANYONE tries this, please report back how it went. I really doubt that the stores are going to be aware of how to do this...

I have a small order I did at CVS yesterday. I thought it was a good one though. ;D I bought 1 pack bic pens for $1.99 1 Kotex U tampons $3.49 Total $5.48 I paid with a $1/1 man coupon for the Kotex and a $4 up for a final OOP of 0.62 cents. I have a teenage daughter and the amount of money on things like this that she could spend is almost as much as we could make. Anytime I can get tampons or maxi pads for free is a good thing. ;D

I'd also have the CS number in my cell phone. Of course, if you need to use the coupon on a weekend, you'll be SOL if there are any problems.

At Meijer I renewed a prescription and a cat came out giving a $10 Q to Meijer when you "refilled", new or transferred. I have three more to fill so last night I dropped off "one" to see if when I pick it up I will get another $10 cat. If I do I will refill my others one at a time to keep getting the $10. I have rainchecks for the paper towels and TP that were 1/2 price last Saturday (that they were all out of) so I will be getting them FREE!! Yeah for me because my stash of TP was gone. Had to buy a cheap 4 roll pack for $1 until they restock the ones for my raincheck. It better happen soon (if you know what I mean)!! Stopped at Meijer on my way home to pick up prescription and got my $10 catalina and one for $5 (not $10) off next refill so I dropped off the other prescription and will pick it up and get my $5 catalina. Hopefully it will spit out another $5 for next time.

I doubt my store would know what to do unless the store manager was in and gave them the go ahead to subtract 3$ as a RA Q. Oh well, I only have 6 points more to reach Gold level anyways. I have a few Ups that I will be doing the August SCR with that should get me there and then I can close shop at RA until some great deal comes up.

That's too bad about no more $3/$15 at Rite Aid. I got my first survey last week and like a newbie that I am I did the survey right away -- but I used it yesterday. I figured out a few scenarios, and they worked quite well at Rite Aid. I don't have my receipt in front of me, but I bought 3-4 items, had Q's for them all, and used the $3/$15, and I think my OOP was around $6.00.
I know from reading the posts here that the coupon deals aren't as good as they were months ago, but I am pretty happy with what I am getting. I don't get much free, but I am getting things much, much less than I ever did.
And I have decided one way to help me get RR, ECB and UPs is to make up a few Christmas gifts that are care packages for my daughter, son and my daughter's DF. My kids love them, so I am finding the sales, combine with Q's, getting back the rewards.
I've been using the Q's for about 5-6 weeks now, and here's what I've stockpiled, and I estimate it will last me 6 months:
Toothpaste Mouthwash Floss Shampoo Conditioner Soap Body Wash Facial Cleansers Razors (men & women) Shaving Cream (men & women) Deodorant (men & women) Aluminum Foil Olive Oil Tampons (for my daughter) Tissues
I still need to stockpile toilet paper and paper towels, since I've been couponing I haven't seen the deals, but I hope to snag a few packages of tp this Sunday at Walgreens.
And I have 15 Rain Checks (2 from Rite Aid, 13 from CVS), $15 in ECB, $4.00 in RR, and a fair amount of coupons.
I've always liked to shop for a bargain, but never really considered food, household items or HBA as something to really get at a steep discount (or free). I would usually just watch when they went on sale, and get some then. I used a few coupons here and there, but not like I do now. Slowly my OOP is decreasing -- I like getting $15 worth of merchandise for $6.00!
After using the three drug stores for the past several weeks(Rite Aid, Walgreens, CVS), I think I will focus mostly on CVS first, then Walgreens. CVS stores are all over the place, so I have more options. Walgreens are relatively new to Maine where I live, but I have gotten some good deals there. Rite Aid -- they're all over too, but I just don't seem to find the deals there, and if they've just done away with the $3/$15, it's even less reason for me to frequent them.
Thanks to you ladies here for guiding this newbie, I looked at what I have spent on the items I've gotten and it's so much less than what I would have paid in the past.

Technically, the coupon I attached for the bodywash can't be used for the sale since it says that on the coupon. (I think that's rather unusual for a RA coupon to say that, isn't it? So I'm not sure whether the store would actually care, since that's not the norm.) And, remember you either get your discount or the BOGO50% sale, whichever gets the better price. ETA: I mention about the wording on the coupon because I know some people have difficult RA's. At my RA, I'm sure I could ask if it's ok to use and they would ok it. But, I know not everyone has a coupon friendly RA.

I have one survey Q printed and one that isn't. I only have $3.00 UPS left as the deals haven't been too stellar lately. I've been scouting around the store to find things that I really need in my pantry so will try to use UPs for that before they expire.

Thanks to you ladies here for guiding this newbie, I looked at what I have spent on the items I've gotten and it's so much less than what I would have paid in the past. munjoyhill: You have done an AWESOME job!! Yes, the deals are not as abundant this year as they have been in years past, but there are still great deals to be found. It just means that it will take a little more time and patience to build a stockpile. Your greatest advantage is that you have all three national drug chains available to you and an abundance of locations. If you just cherry pick the best deals at each drug store when they are available, you still should be able to do very well. And I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that you are collecting rain checks. This is a HUGE part of how you can get the very best deals or restock something that you are running low on. Now that you have built a small stockpile of various items, you can be more selective and hopefully wait until they are free to add to what you already have. Toilet paper and paper towels are always a little more difficult to stockpile. The only way that I was able to stockpile paper towels was to wait for a killer MM RR, EB, or UP deal and use my "for profit" rewards to buy paper towels when they were on sale at a rock bottom price and combine with a coupon. I also used the rain check strategy here which helped a lot. You can do the same thing for toilet paper. Once in a blue moon, you might get lucky and run across clearance of TP or paper towels at WAGs. It usually happens when P&G is changing their packaging and it's "out with the old and in with the new". Every time anything is posted like that on a blog, get to your stores ASAP because they get cleared out pretty fast. Freebie deals on TP and paper towels and/or great coupons for them are rare. I guess it's because, well in the case of TP anyway, you gotta have it and everyone is going to buy it regardless of the price, so they really don't have to offer great sales on it. In any case, you are doing an awesome job so just keep on keeping on. ;D

I just had a question for you guys ... I'm an occasional Rite-Aid shopper. If I see a deal on paper towels/TP that also has $10 bucks on $30 I'll buy that, then use my $10 next time to get some free soap or something, then usually I get another $2-3 bucks and use that for free chocolate , a couple months later, repeat. That's about the level I'm at, not too serious. Anyway, last time I went it, I got a $3 off $15 if I fill out a survey online at the bottom of my receipt. I've had these before, but this time after the survey, no coupon popped up. Has anyone else had this happen before?

When I have rewards "to burn" because they can't be rolled and there does not seem to be a great sale on anything that pops out at me, I try to think of ANYTHING that we use/need that rarely goes on sale and/or there is rarely a coupon for and use my rewards to get it for free or at a deep discount. Yep, the deals have not been stellar, but hang in there; hopefully things will pick up in the fall as they always tend to do. In the meantime, you can use the "break" to clear out outdated inserts, reorganize your storage, etc. so that when things get better, you're good to go!!

Has anyone else had this happen before? yogii: This is a current topic of discussion. Just read back a page or and you'll understand what is going on, why, and what to do about it. Your strategy is perfect. Keep up the good work. ;D

That is a bummer though.

saveinla: Okay got it, I think: Only 1 coupon will double up to $1 max at Vons. Ralph's will double multiple coupons up to a $1 max. Thanks for the info.
Re RA $3/$15 survey: I did a survey yesterday and it did not print so I did call CS. They said what you guys did: just give the receipt to the cashier. When I asked whether all the cashiers/stores had been told this, the CS agent said, "Yes, you'll have no problem." I don't know about that since it was a receipt that I found in the basket I was using. I'll give it a try though as I want to buy the Profoot items anyway--we go through these in order to save the life of our athletic shoes since we walk from 5-10 miles day.
dancinmama: I thought the salad kits were 2/$4 last week but it was the ones with just the lettuce. I'm going to get two kits this week (1 light Caesar and 1 Asian). I'll use 2/$2 q's and a $1/$5 produce q which will make them .50 ea. I'll probably get two more next Tuesday before the sale ends and the $1/$5 q's expire (Aug.3) so we'll have plenty of salad.

Anytime I can get tampons or maxi pads for free is a good thing. ;D And you got a $1.99 EB back for the pens. It was a good one. Great job!! Thanks! I forgot to mention the ECB's. I actually got one for the $1.99 and a $2.00 from the kotex. I think that may be my best deal ever.

I'm past needing Kotex, so I don't pay too close of attention to those deals unless they are HUGE MMs. ;D I've got to get into CVS today for some of the marshmallows they have on ad. One of our fav summer activities is a "drive in" at home. We put a fire in the fire pit, roast some marshmallows, and watch a Netflix on the computer under the stars.

Murpath,It probably won't make any difference as to whether it was a "found" receipt versus one you personally received. Probably the issue will be whether your RA knows about this and/or whether they are helpful or unhelpful. Hope it goes smooth sailing for ya!

I don't know what I would do without my Mexican markets. Nectarines at Safeway: $1.69/lb. Nectarines at Nob Hill: $1.49/lb. Nectarines at Arteagas: $.69/lb. <-- yep, those are the ones that I'll be buying. ;D SOOO agree about my independent & produce markets. Mine are mostly Russian & Eastern European leaning. The prices are at LEAST half what my natl chains charge. holly: Glad to see you post. I was just thinking about you yesterday. Ya, the "ethnic" markets save me quite a bit ESPECIALLY on produce.

I didn't know if I could stack the $1/$5 with the $2 Fresh Express Qs or not. I imagine that I have to give the $1/$5 first, yes? I think I'm going to do EXACTLY what you are - buy a couple today or tomorrow and buy a couple more on Tuesday before the $1/$5 expires. I love Chinese chicken salad, so I think the Asian will be my choice too. Thanks so much again for sending those Qs. I REALLY appreciate it.

We found good deals before the $3/$15s and we'll find them going forward too.

"And I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that you are collecting rain checks. This is a HUGE part of how you can get the very best deals or restock something that you are running low on."
I was able to use an RC for St. Joseph's 36ct 81mg aspirin at RA today. Thanks as always dancin' for always reminding that RCs are a very effective way to lock in a deal and save when you have a Q for it down the road.
Anywhoo...it's been awhile since there's been an RA transaction that was worth posting, here was my lunchtime trip:
(2) Reach Tb $5.98 Aussie conditioner $2.50 HE shampoo $2.50 (2) St. Josephs 36 ct 81mg aspirin RC $1.50 - $1.50 +UP 0.00 Kellogg's FF $1.88
Total $13.45 -$3/$15 RA -$1 Reach VV -$1 VV Wellness -$2.50/2 Reach -$3/2 Aussie/HE -$1.50 Kellogg's
OOP = $1.45 ==> $2 +UPs Reach Tbs
Two things that I thought were strange: 1. took the $3/$15 as she rang the aspirin up as 0 and the total was less that $15 2. I meant to get two boxes of cereal but only got one and the Q was in my pile when I handed them to her.....the machine accepted it without a beep?? At Wegmans it definitely would have beeped.
