If anyone needs a coupon- gmail or PM me (I think I am on the docs). I will be away from the boards a lot because the decluttering at DGMs has swung into full gear- the windows are in and we have found out that she has had another stroke nd she now has emphysema... We need an emoticon for running around in circles... OMG! That is a lot on your plate. Good luck and know there are lots of good wishes aimed toward you.

For those of you that have the Lumene q's, the little pots of Lumene moisturizer are on the bottom shelf of the Trial Section of my CVS. CVS had q's for Lumene a while back (they are now expired) and I searched all over the skin care aisle looking for the little pots you guys talked about. Too late for me, but thought the info might help some of you. They are the cutest little things! Pricey though: $4.19 at my CVS.
Re RA surveys: Good to know some of you have gotten a few. I'll keep my fingers crossed!

I went to CVS this noon, and had my first snarky cashier.
I did two transactions:
Transaction #1 1 Kleenex Tissue $2.49 (B1G1) 1 Kleenex Tissue Free 1 Kleenex Tissue $2.49 (B1G1) 1 Kleenex Tissue Free Bic Soleil Shaver $6.99
Less $.50 off 3 Mfg Q for Kleenex Less $3.00 off Mfg Q for the Bic Soleil Less $7.00 ECB
OOP $1.72 and received $3.00 ECB from Bic deal
The Bic Soleil was a raincheck from last week, and things went smoothly until I started with transaction #2, the cashier handed me a big bag with the Kleenex tissues in it, and while I was putting it in the cart, she started in on Transaction #2 --
Transaction #2 1 Crest Toothpaste $1.99 1 Crest Toothpaste $1.99 Less $1.00 Mfg Q Total 2.98 -- and I was paying for this with the $3.00 ECB from above, but . . . And I got back $2.00 ECB
This is where the cashier got snarky at me. I said that I needed the $3.00 ECB from the first transaction to pay for the second one, but she had started it while she was handing me the big bag of tissues, and she said I should have mentioned it -- and I reminded her that it was clearly listed on the Bic Soleil rain check that I get back $3.00 ECB, and she rolled her eyes at me and said, "oh yeah".
So she forced the $3.00 ECB for me, but said she could only do it for $2.98 since that was my total, which was fine, and I ended up paying $.05 for the two toothpastes. She sort of shoved the bag of toothpaste at me, and started rubbing her temples.
It wasn't busy in the store, but a man came up behind me, who was very tall (and I'm short) and said over my head to the cashier, you look like you've had a bad day. She said oh yeah, I have a bad headache and "this" isn't helping -- she pointed to my bag of toothpaste on the counter.
And I froze standing there and just looked at her, raised my eyebrows, she knew I was p*ssed, so she sort of stammered, "have a good day" to me. Haven't yet decided if I will complain to the manager.

Ditto. Personally I would have asked to speak to the mgr right then. That is unacceptable behavior on that cashier's part.

Look at your receipt. Some are now coming out with numbers similar to the Rite Aid survey. CVS is encouraging customers to take these surveys. Be very frank if you get one. Also I would speak to the manager.

I went to Walmart today to check out some stuff. The closest one is 20 miles away , so we used to go there once in 6 months and stock up on some stuff. I have not been there since I started to do the DS deals from last year. But I was shocked at the prices there - everything was expensive and only their walmart brand was comparatively cheap. Everything we get at the drugstores was priced even higher. Is this normal or is it only our area that is high, since we have a lot of competition for walmart? Our Walmart is also very high, even compared to drugstore prices. For example, the drugstores have routinely been selling cereal at 2/$5 or 2/$4(after reward) the past couple of weeks, but walmart has most of the same brands marked at 3.19 or above! And don't get me started on cheese, yogurt, and milk! I haven't bought milk at Walmart in forever (used to buy it there all the time) now, I always purchase milk at RA or WAGs......

munjoyhill: I would also talk to the manager. I try to be very loyal to the stores that are "good" to me.... In other words, I buy my bread and milk at WAGs and RA almost all the time because they have a very competitive price, their convenient, and they treat me well as I customer. For the exact opposite of the previous statement, Walmart gets almost none of my business now. I also fill prescriptions (when I have them) and get flu shots at these two places for the same reasons. Therefore, I take no CRAP from folks like your cashier. Sure, I use coupons, but I could take my business and my coupons somewhere else, and I would be one more customer not contributing to that store's sales volume......

I know Cinnamon Toast Crunch is my indicator of what I would buy in a store and they had the DS size for 3.79. Always low prices ---

Staples just emailed out a coupon for 25% back in Staples Rewards on any purchases made in the store! (couple of things are excluded) This SD post has links to the coupon at the bottom. slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=41141916&postcount=1I need a new desk, so this is great timing! ETA - just asked the gurus if you can combine this with a rebate item and they said yes! So, buy: Staples Photo Plus 4X6 Paper Gloss 60 pack for $9.99, get back 25% rewards ($2.50) and $9.49 rebate = $2 profitHammermill 8.5x11 CopyPlus copy paper 500 sheet/ream for $5.99, get back 25% rewards ($1.50) and $4.99 rebate = $0.50 profit *This is limit 2

I was looking to make rice crispy treats and couldn't make myself plunk out $3.00 for a box of cereal, so I just bought a $1.00 pkg. vanilla wafer cookies at Dollar General. I did have Walmart price match Kraft string cheese for $3.00. Their price was $4.48. Frugalsuz: Thanks for the Staples tip. I hope to get there before the sale is over. Rite Aid: I finally got a survey today and will print it out next week so it'll be good for awhile. One of the big reasons I love couponing is I feel little remorse when I stop at a farmers market and spend money for good quality produce.

frugalsuz: I was looking at your blog entry that lists the deals starting 7/24. It is amazing how few deals there are these days!! I am out of RA and WAGs and keep contemplating just cashing out at CVS, but then an item will come along that makes me happy that I'm holding EBs so I'm torn. I wonder if it would be worth it to hold on until BF.

I mainly have only been shopping Frys(Kroger) for everything lately. They have been taking competitor coupons so it's a one stop shop. Got out of the drug store game in May.

just got back from a different walmart. I totally understand why you guys don't really shop there! I felt like a criminal and regardless what their coupon policy said they fought it and didn't follow it. I had probably 60 items and only walked out buying 12... hope they have fun putting it all back. I am spoiled that the walmart i frequent has been trained well enough by me, but sheesh this was crazy! They said it was the coupon people using coupons for all trial sized items to get everything in their cart almost free... They would not allow overage, they would not honor a price match without the ad (uh their commercials even say they match without an ad!), they would not honor a competitor coupon because it didn't have their 'original' price on it, they would not honor two of the same coupon (two items purchased) in the same transaction.... I was fuming when I got out of there. such a waste of my time! I figured I would hit another walmart vs my normal so they wouldn't get sick of me price matching etc! guess I should have stuck with the store that knows their own policy, AND honors it. Anyone know how to deal with Walmart corporate without having the store you were at call you and give their excuses?
Ugh, I stopped at WAGS, didn't get my RR for the Mitch. deot and I didn't realize it until I was home... what is the number to call to get that fixed?

PUDGY: go online to Walmart dot com to complain about the store. You will need the store number from the receipt and then complain away. Every time I do that I get a call from the store manager....

One of the big reasons I love couponing is I feel little remorse when I stop at a farmers market and spend money for good quality produce. Yup, money is all about choices. One doesn't have to be cheap in every single area. It's all about spending less in one area, so you get to spend more on the things that really matter to you. As an aside...that Safeway $1/$5 q's are going to expire in 2 weeks or less. That'll be a sad day.

But I did get my Fekkai shampoo/conditioner samples in the mail today, and they came in the loveliest envelopes! I also got $8 in UPs from RA today in the mail, because my UPs for the softsoap last week didn't print. The nice thing is that they don't expire until 9/30 - but actually I have an OTC med I think I'll put them towards.

Hug to Pudgy Bunny! Sounds like a rough hounding day! (I don't have a Walmart near me, but I've had similar bad luck w/Targets so I know what you're dealing with.) ETA: I don't have any advice on the RR in term of a phone # to call. My local stores have always just made it right for me. Probably someone else on here will know though!

For those who are looking for the 1$ vlasic pickles at CVS, it's only the Hamburger Chips variety that is scanning at this price. My store manager checked and found these. I bought 2 of them using the 55c off SS Q. HTH
On the topic of surveys, I received 3 surveys in RA today - one when returning something, one in the pharmacy and the one at the regular counter.

Or at least something I need like toilet paper. Maybe I am spoiled but some of the "deals" are just too rich for my taste lately.

I bought 3 chickens for 69 cents a pound from Von's this week. I am making 1 for dinner this week, and two went in the freezer. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU MISS SUZI Q!!You never know when a little post like this is going to trigger something and end up helping someone, so PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE post the deals you get regardless of whether YOU THINK they will help someone else or not. Suzi's post reminded me of the fact that Foster Farms chicken was on ad for 40% off in last week's ad. I had to run an errand today so I decided to stop by Safeway to see if they had any whole chickens that had not sold during the sale that were dated today. Sure enough!! I was able to pick up (4) whole chickens. The normal price was $1.69/lb, but they were still marked at the sales price from last week's add of $1.01/lb (40% discount) and because today was the last date of sale, I was able to go to the butcher and ask for a sticker coupon for an additional 50% off getting them for $.50/lb. - a savings of 70%!! I was shocked that they had not tagged them first thing this morning as that is what they usually do with the chicken that is going to expire. I doubted I would find any at 5:00 pm, but you never know so I made the stop and there they were - lonely and untagged. There were a boatload in the bin that are dated tomorrow's date too. I plan to call the butcher first thing tomorrow morning and ask if they tagged them; if so, I'll be going back to get several more!! ;D THANKS AGAIN SUZI Q; I may have forgotten all about it if it weren't for your post reminding me to go check.

For people looking to spend their ECBs, there is a schick/playtex razor deal at CVS next week- spend 20 get 10 ECB that may work out if you still have the 3$ FB or the 4$ MQs from the inserts a while ago. If the skintimate shave gel is included in the deal then the 1.50 SS Q would come in handy and we may break even.
