Ole URTY did a lot of buckin' last week. That usually means he'll be a little more settled the following week. No guarantees, of course, he's high strung and tempramental. We'll ride him again...
URTY... Long.

TZA long (3x short small caps)
I suspect coming week will be a very bad one for the markets -- it's just something in the pit of my stomach and the marrow of my bones. The closer we get to the default on bonds (assuming no raise in the debt limit), the worse the markets are going to perform.
My best shorting screen suggests TZA and SCO as the best candidates, but somehow shorting oil just doesn't seem like a very good idea to me right now. It's only a screen, what does it know?
I don't own either of these in the real-money ports, but may well pick them up on Monday (despite my qualms about shorting oil) and replace REW and SOXS which were the two that the same screen pulled for last week (and therefore I own). For that matter, I may keep the REW and SOXS and just add the two new ones. Decisions, decisions! Reckon we'll see how things start out on Monday before taking any actions since I can't do anything until then anyway!

Hey, just a shot in the dark..... CMFO (long). Chinese Marine Food has dropped back enough so will saddle it up. May drop further and perhaps may capture last place honors again.

NUE, long. I haven't seen this stock this low for ages. It is time to turn around. If indeed Detroit is back, this company should start benefiting. Now if only construction comes back. They are a steel producer and recycler of metals.

long FTO (Frontier Oil Corp. - Oil and Gas Refining and Marketing)
The crack spread is over 30. Refiners should be profiting this quarter but it is partly dependent on how they were hedged over the quarter.

CCL reports this week. Not sure whether to go long or short. With falling oil prices, let's assume their "outlook" will be positive regardless of results. Long, on CCL this week.

Following yclept's lead and because I agree with him RE current market direction I will go with FAZ long. 3x short on financials. Let's get some more lawsuits going against them this week.

I really don't have a clue as to what I expect of the markets this week. Greece is the prime mover of late and will probably remain in the spot light this week. I would think we will see some sort of resolution from the EU which most likely would reverse the market's downward trend, if only for a short period of time.
I'm looking at Apple again and the results of RIMM, announced last week, have been a drag on Apple. An alternative view of RIMM's poor results is that AAPL is stealing significant market share from them. If this is the case then AAPL shares will, at some point, reflect the revenue gains. Maybe not this week, maybe not next week, but at some point.

Rovo, you're correct on all your opening numbers. On CLX, bigcharts shows $67.43; however, Scottrade has $67.50.... so once again, you're right on. Your efforts are noticed and appreciated..!!!

Well, it's about 2:45 EDT, about time for the bottom to fall out of the bucket and everything splat on the floor. That's become a pretty reliable pattern of late.

SBS, what are you doing down there? Will be down soon to push you up. Probably a sure thing CMFO will be accused of false reporting and cooking the books on some blog in the next day or two. "Par for the course" in the China small caps/RTO's.

My, my. The bottom dropped out of the bucket, the contents fell far enough that they could have gone "splat", but the bounced instead. Will wonders never cease?
