Almost half way through the month of May, I am in great shape. It seems to get easier to simply tell myself no and walk away. I simply don't need all this stuff Ive been spending money on.
Just hoping I can keep this up.

Chiv, everything you show looks delicious. With your schedule, I don't know how you find the time and energy to cook.
I wish I had the interest to fix one meal, let alone for an entire week.

I would remove this sentence: We would anticipate having to sink some money into the property when we moved in.
You have given all the reasons you like the house and setting etc, then why slam them with having to sink money into the house? The only thing it would accomplish if I was the seller is ticking me off.

Is there a rule that we need to make iced tea in an actual sun tea container? I usually buy the largest Peak tea container, drink it all up, clean it out and make tea.....Normally, I just guess on how many tea bags and whether or not they are the small ones or the big ones.
The weather here hasn't been warm enough for tea drinking yet and at the rate winter doesn't want to go away it might not ever be.

Jif peanut butter, accompanied with an iced tea spoon to make eating out of the jar easier.

I'm at $198 for the month out of a budgeted amount of $200. Will need to spend a little more due to a road trip to Nebraska next Wednesday as I like my travel goodies.

Nothing works better for me than staying home. Unfortunately, yesterday wasn't one of those days (today is).

I had another 2 oz beef filet sautéed with onion, red & green peppers. Don't know about tonight as I have a meeting to attend and have to leave no later than 6 PM.

This is turning out to be a little uncomfortable for me spending wise. This is the first month I actually tithed to my church and I think my fear of doing this is coming to fruition. My usual YNAB spending is right on target, and unlike some others of my friends, no one has surprised me with deposits to my checking account (no sarcasm in that statement). And the and of the month isn't even here yet.

My DH wanted cremation, the total cost was $1700.00, and that included a beautiful handmade oak container. Being buried at a National Cemetery incurred no additional cost.
As with Athena, there was no additional cost for pickup from the VA hospital or filling out of paperwork for the VA and SS.

Can low-cost grief counseling be found somehow?
+++++
There is a national faith based program called Grief Share. The one I attended was held at a local church, it included dinner provided by the church and the cost was $15 for a 13 week program. It would probably be best if she didn't attempt to try it now as the feelings and emotions are too raw to do much good. I waited over 6 months before attending.

I just sliced thin strips of a 2 oz filet. Plan is to saute the beef and then toss in a handful of frozen peppers & onions. Likely will add a fresh baked croissant.
I added some salsa and sour cream and turned it into a shell-less fajita.

I guess my first thought is how much did you actually make and what is the difference between income and $2004 owed for taxes. Then I'd take a close look and determine if the profit (if any) is worth all the time spent away from home.
But, that's just me.

I found out a few years ago after buying YNAB that matching income to spending is a real awakening. Today, I live on SS and VA disability. Investments stay invested unless my house is on fire and needs a major fix it job like it did last year. Trying to cash flow repairs from monthly income simply wasn't going to be possible.
After almost 25 years of being retired and another 3.5 years of being a widow, I pretty much have this spending under control.

How about going to Verizon and asking them what deal you can get if you transfer from ATT to Verizon.

My provider is Verizon, it offers a 24 month payment plan on their device options. Check to see if ATT does also. It makes paying for them easier.

I'd go back to Walmart and see what they have. I bought one of the smaller ones from there and it's some kind of "green" thing. Handle is green as is outside the pan, inside is a cream color. Works well for me, easy to wipe out and reuse. Maybe Dollar General or Family Dollar might have some non-stick and cheap price too.

At my advanced age about all I'm capable of doing is touching up paint on a wall. And with todays advanced vehicles, with all the computers that help you drive, even the trained mechanics sometimes have problems diagnosing the problem. There was a time I used to change tires, but today, I push the red OnStar button and the guy was at my house in 10 minutes, no fee whatsoever.
My late DH also reached a point that he physically and mentally was incapable of doing the things he used to do.
Home Advisor is my friend as is OnStar.

I'd love to see pix. I've been living in what was my father's house for a few years and am ready to make it mine. I am totally stumped on what to do and for the first time in my life, I have no idea what to do. I used to use Photobucket, but now don't have a way to post them here.

No new furniture.....it was accessories mainly. House is only 5 years old and most of the furniture was purchased specifically for this house. Some furniture pieces were antiques found at flea market. Rearranged the living/dining/bedrooms. All new bedding in both bedrooms . Same with master bath and guest bath, new linens and accessories. It was surprising to me that so little could change the entire look of the house. It's now warm and cozy, everywhere I look I see things that make me happy.
The sunroom has mostly new furniture, but it's so girly girly I can't help but smile everytime I'm in there or just walk by. I had budget $4k for the room, ended up spending $700.
If someone can post pics of the sunroom for me, I'll take some.

I told both girls to come get the rest of their stuff from my house. Everything left after this weekend is going in the trash or to the Goodwill. I'm going to start by getting rid of everything I don't need. Then I'll start painting and redecorating. It will probably take me months since I still have both jobs and my gym schedule. It was 2 years after DH died that I finally said "OK...this house is mine". I changed a whole lot and then some. Even the master bath was redecorated. I've just finished the house and the sunroom is done, besides being adorable and all girly looking. I budgeted $5K for the whole thing and spent about all of it. HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I too need some electrical work down in the sunroom. Thank goodness for having a good neighbor and friend who owns an electrical company. We get put on a list, and eventually get the phone call they can send someone out. Those electrical outlets just have to stand in line.

I just took out some chicken ka-bobs from the freezer that I bought at The Fresh Market. Will bake all 5 of them and have enough for dinner tomorrow night too. Have some white rice that only needs to be heated so that will be dinner. tonight.

Verizon hit a home run for me this afternoon. Too long to go into details, but I will have insurance to cover the broken glass cover and in turn with paying a deductible I will receive a new watch from Apple.
I will also be trading in an old iPhone 5 and a really old Apple iPad to help cover the costs. Just call me one happy camper!!!!! And once again the good Lord helped me when I least expected it.

The watch is running fine, financed it thru Verizon for 2 years @ $22/mo . I've made 1 payment. I was thinking of just using it until I've made 12 payments then buy a series 5 when they come out next winter. I too think it's not worth the $349 to have it repaired. Or, I could buy a series 4 like I have when the 5s come out and save a little more.

Fumbling fingers caused it to fall upside down and shatter the glass cover.
I reading a few things quickly one site said I have to take it to an Apple store.
Anyone have any experience with this issue?
