OK, so we're done with the When Will Weiner resign poll, it's time for another one. Rather than percentage points and electoral votes, I just decided to go with the number of states he will carry-- or not. My personal opinion is that he's going to lose- and the thread title reflects that- nevertheless, I've left a fantasy option for liberals- #1:
1) Obama will win the election
2) Obama will lose 46 states
3) Obama will lose 49 states
4) Obama will become the first president to lose all 50 states
5) Obama will lose 47 states
6) Obama will lose 48 states
My pick is 48 states-- to be specific, I think he will carry California, and Illinois-- though I have to admit I'm on the fence about California.

Paul you have got to remember one thing. There are people out there that will cut off a finger with a saw, switch hands & cut off another finger. (It would almost be worth it if I could give BOTH fingers to President Obama Anyway I think that Presidend Obama will cary 22 to 24 states & lose.

He would probably carry New York and parts of New England.
Remember that even though many people who voted for him realize they were duped (i.e. he did not usher in a post racial America, white America still needs to feel guilty, he's a know-nothing empty suit who used empty rhetoric to fool people who wanted to be duped, and he is making a mockery of the US abroad even as he devestated the economy with his socialist ideals), there are also:
1. many people who are too invested in him emotionally to ever not vote for him 2. he will still get 95% of the African American vote (but white people are the racist, go figure) 3. too many lefties see Obama as their great hope to FINALLY make America what they think it should be: a socialist utopia where the inefficient government and useless, never tested academics can tell the (supposedly) pitiful and ignorant masses how to live. 4. Obama still has and will have the MSM in his pocket and they will do everything in their power to look good, just as they continue to bury stories about his ineptitude.
I don't have a prediction except to not count him out. The economy did well under much of Bush even with the recession he inherited from Clinton and 9/11. The Great Recession can clearly be laid at the feet of Democrats and their flunkies (you didn't see the GOP picketing banks, demanding subprime loans and "fairer" access of mortgage to regardless of their ability to repay) yet the MSM has brainwashed everyone to blame Bush despite it the economy went downhill with a Democrat congress, neophyte poised to sweep an election, and the MSM hyping the economy as the worst since the Depression (the same thing they did to Bush's dad and that was a bold lie).
The election is a LOOOONG way off and anything can happen.

I believe it was 59 states. as in: "We've been to 57 states already, and one, , , uh two to go".
I call it another cliff hanger, with shenanigans we can't imagine yet, with lots of voting precinct security forces, media out in droves and violence in some places. But Obama loses in the end.

We are 17 months out from election date, many many things could change, we could see a severe drop in unemployment (don't see it, but it could happen), we could see a change in monetary policy (again don't see but, it could happen).
The Republican (green, tea, libertarian) parties have yet to find-fund-support a true candidate, until feb or march I wouldn't be so focused on Obama going away, what the parties should be focused on is finding someone who knows what they are talking about, knows what they are doing and has the gumption to get it done, not empty slogans and rhetoric.

Obama will win a 2nd term. The Pubs still don't have a candidate that can beat him. That plus nazi pubs like Paul Ryan are scaring the crap outta the voting public. 4 more years, unless the Pubs get a clue!

I do worry about violence and fraud- just like the first time around. However, I don't think those practices swayed the election then- I think Obama won, and would have won. And I don't think it'll be enough to sway the election this time-- he's just too unpopular.

That plus nazi pubs like Paul Ryan are scaring the crap outta the voting public. 4 more years, unless the Pubs get a clue! I agree that Paul Ryan has an uphill climb. It's never easy to be the one telling the truth while all the other party has to do is tell people what they want to hear. However, every single time I see Paul Ryan in action he eviscerates his opponent. And he uses the facts and numbers to do it. Time is on his side, and on the side of the GOP. Lies, and demogoguery will only work for so long. Sooner or later, the Democrats are going to have to join the adults to hammer out a solution and by then their credibility will be shot. If I were a Repblican I'd run the Democrat's own scare ads-- like pushing grandma off a cliff and I'd ask the questions: How STUPID do they think YOU are? How low will my opponent stoop? Is it really that hard to imagine that the government lied to you, and the program is going broke? Who can manage money better- YOU, or the government? And I'd ask: Who should be in control? You, or the government? Who are we going to trust? You, or the government? Eventually, the GOP and Paul Ryan are going to get this message across and after that- the GOP will OWN the entitlement issue, and the Democrats will be sidelined on it the way the GOP has been since FDR. The effectiveness of fear tactics are coming to an end just as surely as the programs themselves are.

PBP, let's see, the Pubs want to outlaw abortion. Then they cut WIC, but give a $100k tax break to millionaires. Yep, John Q is really gonna want to follow their lead. It doesn't matter if Ryan is right or wrong. He is appealing to the lunatic fringe of the Pubs, not the masses. The pubs have to get back to what the majority of their constituents want, and sway some dems.

1) Obama will win the election
Unfortunately Obama could be re elected because of two reasons (1)$ 1 Billion Campaign Funds, and (2) Lack of Strong Republican Field ..

California may NOT go with Obama because the Hispanic voters want him to push immigration reform and the @15% Unemployed out here...if those two critical constraints are not changed he could lose California... But the unknown could be again the Republican Field which is a big yawn.zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Republicans could easily win if they got a good candidate & were willing to drop the hardline approach on many of the social issues. Move a little towards the middle & you could swing a lot of voters. But, no one moving towards the middle will win the nomination & therefore republicans will lose.

Problem with dropping the hard-line social issues is that any candidate who does that will not win the primaries.

Well let's see, we're going to have a year and a half of ABC, CBS, and NBC reporting every day on the evening network news that the Republican party doesn't have anyone qualified or whatever. While at the same time only reporting on the positive aspects of Obama's administration. ( Never under estimate the power of the "media darling" ) Even then it's going to be close. ( Don't forget to bookmark this one )

Paul... 'he's so unpopular' .... you have to ask more people than your friends... he still maintains a positive favorable over unfavorable rate in the polls... and beats any named republican candiate in early polls... except sometimes Romney... who I do not think will be nominated...

Pbp did say it’s a fantasy poll, not even the far right here agrees with his projections.

(Senior Member Of The Pack) That "billion dollar campaign fund" is a projection. He hasn't raised that yet. We'll see where the money goes, and no doubt he'll raise a lot- but it's so much hot air until the checks clear...

Can I get back to you when I see who the Republican candidate is? Obama is vulnerable, but it depends on who he is running against. And, no matter who the republican is, Obama will also carry NY, VT, and DC.

Pbp did say it’s a fantasy poll, not even the far right here agrees with his projections. The problem is that he and his ilk, of the 'anyone but will win' ... no question... he's out of here' opinions... are going to sink their chances by ignoring the fact that it is NOT going to be 'anyone but' ... If they want to win they should be backing Romney, or searching out some other likely candidate... but no... they feel empowered by their own rhetoric and think they can pick a Bauchman or a Santorum and still win this thing No skin off my nose... but it just isn't going to happen...

The pubs have to get back to what the majority of their constituents want, and sway some dems. Abortion will remain legal unless or until SCOTUS rules otherwise. People want JOBS. They want fuel they can AFFORD. They want FOOD they can afford. If Democrats want to run on sympathy for welfare lifers- be my guest. Oh, won't you please run on welfare after Clinton won popular re-election on welfare reform, if Barry "Foodstamps" Obama wants to return the Democratic Party to its radical "welfare rights" roots- I don't think that'll bode well for him- or his party. Letting people keep what they earn is just American. Taking what people earn to redistribute it is anti-American. We've been down this road before. It failed under iron-fisted Democrat / liberal rule until Reagan broke it and we prospered ever since that time. That dog don't hunt and if Barry wants to return the Democratic Party to its well-earned reputation as being "tax and spend liberals" then he will lose. The People did express their will. It's amazing how quickly we forget that there has been an election since 2008-- and that election was a repudiation of Obama's policies and of the Democrat congress's out of control spending. The party is over.
