On behalf of suzi and all of the gals here, WELCOME, WELCOME, WELCOME to the Grocery Challenge from me - dancinmama If you have never clipped a coupon, or even if you have been using coupons for years, we'd love to have you join us. We are a crazy, fun-loving, and very friendly group of gals just chatting with one another about how to save big money using coupons. We are willing to help anyone, at any level, in any way that we can. Don't think that you have to read through the pages and pages of posts to join in - most of it will be old, out-of-date information anyway. Just go to the last page of the thread and introduce yourself. Tell us what area of the country you're from and where you shop (grocery stores, national chain stores, Target, WalMart, etc.). We'd love to have you join us on a regular basis, so don't be shy - just jump right in, have some fun, and save a ton of money in the process!! NEWBIES/OLDIES: If you post a HOUND ALERT requesting coupons from others, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE also post which insert/where the coupon can be found (Example: 1/2 SS) so that we can find it easily without having to research it ourselves. ALSO, if you need the coupon for a specific deal, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE try to remember to post the deal with your HOUND ALERT so that someone who may have the coupon(s) can decide whether they want/need to do the deal before sending out any of their coupons. THANKS!! POSTING ABOUT A DEAL / HOT COUPON: Some people get overwhelmed by the number of posts and only have time to skim the posts for the information that they need the most. If you are posting a deal, please post something that makes it stand out like "CVS DEAL ALERT" or if you are posting to tell us that there is a new, hot coupon available, please post something like "$3/1 WHOLLY GUACAMOLE IP ALERT". We want to make this thread as fun, friendly, and helpful as possible. These suggestions will save EVERYONE a lot of time when they are trying to "catch up" and read through past posts. Now let's have fun!!

Hi all! I got my CVS ad and coupons in the mail this morning so I was checking it out already. I don't actualy need much so it is probably a boring plan but it seems like a workable one for me.
1 Oral B Pulsar toothbrush $6.00 4 coke 12 pks 13.00 1 ban solid 2.99 2 excedrin 1.98 1 crest pro health rinse 4.50
minus crest MC -2.00 ban MC -0.75 oral B MC -3.00 2 coke #2/2 MCs -4.00
Minus ECB's -13.00 total 5.72 Plus tax .40 For a grand total of $6.12
And I will get $11.98 in ECB's back. ;D

Coke, crest rinse & ban would be the 1st transaction - OOP is 0.74 + tax + bottle deposits - get back 7.50 ECB Oral B Pulsar toothbrush & Excedrin in the 2nd transaction - pay using 4.50 ECB from transaction 1 - 0.48+tax and get back 4.98 ECB You will have spent 1.22 + tax and still have 7.98 ECB

Saveilna thanks!!! ;D I would still have been happy to get all that for 5.72 but your way is way better! Just the 4 12 packs of coke are normally at least 10 so this is a steal. but I'll take it! I live in tourist land. I have seen things sold out but I doubt it is from people trying to clear a shelf. Most people are only here for the weekend or week so I don't really have much competition for these things. That is the good part. the bad part is the closest store is 7 miles away and there are only two groceries and now two CVSs Competition isn't exactly stellar. The second CVS confused the heck out of us. It is only 5 miles from the other. It seems like a waste. they are just going to cannibalize their own customers. Then I found out that Walgreen's wanted that spot. So I get why they did it but I really didn't need twice as much choice for the one and only drugstore. I guess it is still good as it does stop me from buying more than we need or truthfully can store either.

But all of them do a brisk business. Mine were all SavOn/Longs drugs that were converted to CVS. I think their pharmacy & beer/wine is what is getting them the most money, but people waiting for their prescription, usually wander and get some stuff at full price.

For some reason, not all the pages in the inserts are always in the exact same order. I don't know why, but it has happened with my inserts more than once. Otherwise, it sounds like someone is lifting a page out of the inserts that has a coupon they think they might want.

Thanks anyway. Did you check every page in your inserts? For some reason, not all the pages in the inserts are always in the exact same order. I don't know why, but it has happened with my inserts more than once. Otherwise, it sounds like someone is lifting a page out of the inserts that has a coupon they think they might want. Yes I did. And what is up with that? I notice whenever I have about 10 inserts, at least two will have pages that don't match up to the others. Very annoying.

I really to get on the wagon, here. I was paying $55/week with sales trying to get down to $50/week with coupons and then went away to my honeymoon and came back two weeks later to a huge jump in prices. We have spent over $65 this week with no stockpiling even going to the cheap grocery store for some of our purchases. I am really upset and need to get this back down.

But I live in NJ and a liquor license is really expensive so I have never seen a drug or convenience store that sold booze. Our big sellers are mostly suntan lotion, bug spray and bottled water. I think they just added a fridge for cold drinks.

RiteAid is the same and most people come to buy beer/wine or icecream, now that it's getting hot.

The closest liquor store to me is about 20 miles and on a toll road to boot.

I have about 8 bottles right now. I'll just make due until they come out again. I try to use straight money off Qs rather than $1/x because my supermarket takes every Q at $1 so I like buying with singles.

Haha, DM. I let someone use them for booze once on accident. Apparently the registers will allow it, its just policy not to. They had a lot of items, and I thought their EBs covered only the non-alcohol portion. But after I did it, I realized it had given them a tad bit of overage towards their alcohol. Maybe if you find a super spacey cashier.....

NAG... I have a prayer request for babysitting child, he's 1 and he had 2 seizures yesterday and is at the Dayton Children's Hospital and still running tests to see if the seizures are just fever induced or something else is causing them. I couldn't sleep last night worrying about the baby and kept his older brother all night, just told the parents not to worry about him and to just focus on Alex. I just hate it when kids get sick His older brother gets fever induce seizures, so we were hoping maybe Alex wouldn't have to go thru the same thing, but I guess we were wrong TIA..... for any and all PRAYERS

Wow, it is really a dead week for couponing. I'm doing my usual round of scouring blogs and slickdeals and narry a deal in sight (other than the ones we all already know about.)
