Get oranges, stick cloves in them, tie a ribbon around them. Holiday air freshners/ornaments.

I think the sticking cloves into an orange is a huge timesuck. We had it as an activity in a fund raiser last year and it took people forever to do, esp. if they wanted a pattern in the cloves.
What about making slime and selling it? That seems to be super popular here.
Or selling a bag of assorted beads and a pipecleaner for making candy canes? Or with ribbon for doing beaded bracelets. Tying them was a pain, I admit.

Slime is really popular, but I'll be a 1/4 of the class does slime... Snowglobes are intriguing. Cinnamon ornaments so far are winning for least craft ability required. LOL

Slime tends to sell out at my kids' school.

minnesotapaintlady Applesauce! I thought there were more than two ingredients...applesauce, white glue, cinnamon. The recipes I looked at all showed them decorated. They don't have to be if you don't feel like it. I never did, but if Carrot is feeling artsy, they can be decorated with a simple powdered sugar icing. My kids made these and gave them as gifts to their teachers. I made them a few years ago just because they smelled good. And if you do this, don't forget to buy some narrow ribbon for hanging them.

Reindeer food - google recipe but basically raw oatmeal and glitter in bags. could print a little note/poem to go explain it. should sell well to kids and parents. basically you're supposed to sprinkle in on the lawn on Christmas Eve for the reindeer to eat since they have to fly so far.

I made these candy cane ornaments with pipe cleaner and tri-Star beads last year with C’s class during their holiday party. They were easy and the kids all seemed to like them. pin.it/65unwzpvb6b7at

OOOhhh, Snowman poop - little snack bags of mini marshmallows. Or whatever seems like a good idea for reindeer poop!

I'm late to the party. My day with Miss M. I would 5th the applesauce ornaments. They are super easy, smell good, and people like them.
I also think making up kits for beaded candy canes would be good. My kiddo loves those, and I don't want to buy a kit for 35 candy cane ornaments on amazon. Two is enough, thank you. Another thing that would be good, likely cheap, but require some skills and a sewing machine is making a rice bag to toss in the microwave to heat up.
Here's a website that lists a whole bunch of different stuff..I like some of the cinnamon stick ornaments myself. The fingerprint cards are pretty cool. Those would be pretty easy to make. Buy paint, cut out holiday shapes, have carrot put fingerprints around. Repackage in smaller baggies and done.

I read "cinnamon ornaments" and immediately saw the bundle of 5(ish) cinnamon sticks tied together with Christmas ribbon in my head. There's also fake holly stuck to it to make it extra festive. I have a couple of these, I think Mom gave them to me, but I have no idea who made them or anything.

I also might consider looking at making some non-scented bath soak. It's mixing epsom salt, sea salt, and baking soda, and an oil. I'm sure you have baking soda at home. 4lbs of epsom salts is under $3 at Target. We have kosher salt in our pantry...The oil might be expensive. Target has almond oil for $5.00.
Digging up old containers would be hard. Do you have relatives that have some old jars canning lying around that they don't want/need anymore? ETA: Those are pretty nice too. And it's not like you don't have access to sticks.

So I ran the ideas by Carrot last night and he is torn between the cinnamon ornaments and the gumball machines. He wants to do them both. I told him we COULD do them both and just have one be for the bazaar and he about fell over. This mom does not do crafts, so he did not expect anything beyond the obligatory one.

Pants - did the pink wash out yet? Nope. 5 weeks, still pink. Well at least it looks fabulous! But that is frustrating. I caught a hint of it still in E's hair over the weekend, but she just did a couple streaks and I thought it was out. I used the extreme pink last weekend and loved it, but it will not stay in my roots which is what I need it for. My length has a nice pink sheen to it though.

Do "we" feel that glass bulbs would work as well as plastic? Probably not with the breakage risk with kids. I'm just being cheap. Plastic ones are around $1 each, but glass is half that.

So not really kid related, but I did use this to bear them. I don't know if it was here or another thread where I mentioned that my periods were heavier and more painful and closer together. Well, I had an ultrasound last week and they called me today to talk about it. The nurse said I have a fibroid and a cyst on each ovary and that one of them is "complicated" and they want to refer me to a specialist. Of course the reception at my office sucks and after trying to talk through all the breaking up, my call dropped. I'm going to try to call them back after work, but now I'm sitting here wondering what the heck "it's complicated" means for a cyst. Anyone have the same? What ended up happening? PM me if needed.

Most cysts in the ovaries resolve themselves (I've had several that I've had to go back and get ultrasounds checked), so maybe by complicated they just mean they think it's one that won't resolve by itself or is past the threshold of too big so you have to see someone? Or doesn't look like a normal cyst?
Was this a primary care or gyn? If primary they'd shunt you off to a gyn for sure.
BTW - the fibroids are what make the period heavier. Not sure on the closer together. Pain could be either one I think - pain is what lead to the ultrasound that saw the cysts for me.

I had ovarian cysts when I was pregnant and they weren't a big deal. It was the PCP that says it's complicated. They want to refer me to a gyno. I was just thinking that I was premenopausal. The doctor asked when my mom went through menopause because we tend to follow mom. I told her my mom had a complete hysterectomy when she was about my age which is what prompted the ultrasound.

Complex ovarian cyst means it is either filled with blood or a solid mass, per google. More likely to need treatment vs. resolving themselves. Again, just googled complicated ovarian cyst and that’s what popped up - sure there’s lots more info. Sorry andi, that’s a bummer.

Thanks. I called back and of course the voicemail I got said messages left after 4 pm would be returned the following business day. I asked that they call me back tomorrow during my lunch. I'll call my mom and see what she says. She's a retired nurse and she's had a total hysterectomy before, so she may have some insight.

I had a hysterectomy a couple years ago because of extreme monthlies , so much so , I was anemic and needed two blood transfusions. When Dr did surgery , he was going to try to keep remaining ovary ( had one ovary & Fallopian tube removed years ago because of massive tumor ) . Dr said it would hopefully make menopause easier with ovary , but once he went in , found ovary “riddled” with cysts . Even though I’ve had many cysts , tumors , none have been malignant I agree with Justme , most do resolve themselves . My sis gets them all the time , but they just “disappear “ on their own . But her Dr is extra careful because of family history of cancers .

Ovarian cysts filled with blood are called Chocolate cysts and are very painful if they break. They also cause very heavy periods. I have never had so much pain and bleeding as when I had those cysts. I had to have 2 different pads on my bed since one would get soaked through and I could just remove one and go back to sleep. It was a very painful time in my life.
I have had surgery (like a c-section) to remove a ton of these cysts when I was 30 and then put on a birth control patch. This was the best decision for me and I was so thankful when I had normal periods.
The side effect of the patch is that I have fibroids now , but since I am fifty and they are not growing, I am being watched. They should go away with menopause.

The doctor said that if I ended up having fibroids that she was going to recommend an IUD for me. The cysts weren't expected do she's referring me to a gyno. I'm going to try to call them today and see if I can talk to someone today.
