I find the doll only mildly unsettling... the comments though... make me want to lock my doors and fortify...

If my baby looked like that I'd be taking it to an exorcist.

OMG she comes with eyes you can poke out and put new ones in.
This is so not my thing because I find the idea of the doll's eye accidently popping out because I didn't get it shoved in there tight enough horrifying.

Course on the other hand it would be a hysterical practical joke to pull on DH. "Honey have you seen the baby's eye I've seem to have misplaced it".

Debating on buying Gwen Diary of a Wimpy Kid books. She reads them at school and has told me she read the one she's currently reading at least 3 times. So I know it's a series she reads and will read again.
I can get them for $4 a piece on thrift books.com. I've struck out lately with books for her so I tend to get overexcited when I find something she says she likes.
I got books 1-5, that is a good start.

I would check out bookfairs.scholastic.com/bookfairs/events/warehouse-sales.html Everything is BOGO. I think the one near you is set up not in a warehouse so everything you see there is in part of the sale. I can't say for sure Wimpy Kid is there, but there's a good chance some will be.

Oh no, I don't need to go to a Scholastic warehouse sale. I already got teachers asking if something is up because they noticed mommy isn't buying herself books from Gwen's flyer lately.

Ah, well the nevermind. Just knew it was a place you can get some books for BOGO. And some are discounted before the BOGO.

I did. Thriftbooks has the individual ones cheaper at the moment. I debated on the 13 book box set but decided to pass for the moment. I thought it'd be fun to buy the other eight books together as she finishes the current one.

I had ovarian cysts when I was pregnant and they weren't a big deal. It was the PCP that says it's complicated. They want to refer me to a gyno. I was just thinking that I was premenopausal. The doctor asked when my mom went through menopause because we tend to follow mom. I told her my mom had a complete hysterectomy when she was about my age which is what prompted the ultrasound. I had a complex cyst removed when I was 30ish. It was just a day surgery, done laparoscopic. They went in through my belly button and made two other small incisions. They blow your belly up with air, that can travel up to your shoulders and cause some discomfort. Otherwise, you aren't supposed to lift heavy things for a little bit.
I had to get a few ultrasounds done to see if it was going away on it's own. Since it didn't, they figured it was the complex kind and hence the surgery.

Anyone know the signs of a UTI in a 3yo? M was grabbing her vagina through her diaper tonight at bedtime and saying it her. She asked for diaper rash spray, so I used that, but it wasn’t her butt that was hurting, so I’m wondering if it’s a UTI maybe. I don’t think I’ve ever had one, so I’m not sure what to look for.

Uti usually are internal pain. But it can be hard for 3yo to communicate exactly where it is hurting. It can also be yeast infection, which is more external pain. Either should be treated by doctor.

Thing 1 had one when she was a little smaller than that. She would scream "Pee pee!" when she went in her diaper. I would take her to the doctor. I've had one and it feels like you're peeing fire.

What I remember about E's uti when she was that age were the meds. They were revolting. Finally started putting the crushed up pill in a tbsp of syrup and that took enough of the edge off of the taste.

It was like a Thursday. I had two days to rest, and then I was on my own with a toddler. DH was away for the weekend, and I got help lifting him in and out of his crib for one day, then I stopped asking for help because I was feeling embarrassed.
When I had gall bladder surgery, I had surgery on a Wednesday and then was back at work the following Monday.
But, I also tend to recover quickly. I was working part time by 2-3 weeks after the birth of all my kids. #3 was closer to three weeks. But that's because I scheduled the baptism/ds's first holy communion party at our house two weeks after her birth, and needed to work on deep cleaning the house before the party.

That doesn't sound that bad. Hopefully they resolve themselves and I don't have to worry about it. But at least if I do it won't be that bad. You know, I'm getting pretty tired of being cut open right about now.

Hmmmm. No pain when she pees, so I don’t think it’s a UTI then.

Yeast infection usually looks like a diaper rash but with red bumps, right? At least that’s what I remember from when her brother had a yeast diaper rash. She’s 90% potty trained and only wears a pull-up at night. It’s usually dry in the morning (like 4 days out of 5), so she’s not sitting around in wet diapers or anything. I’ll see how she is today and then take her in if something is still bothering.

With Abby it's she refuses to wipe properly. We've had multiple discussions about "stinky itchy cooters" and that it wouldn't happen if she wipes like she is supposed to.
I have her take a bath, get really clean and then put some butt paste on. I try that now before I rush her to the doctor because that gets expensive after awhile.

C's vball team won their set of games on Sat. He had some nice bumps and scored a point on a serve, then foot fouled on this 2nd serve. But his whole team played pretty well, for a 4th-6th grade team. We're all proud of him.
He had a friend sleep over on Sat. night. They pretty much played xbox until I made them stop.
K slept over at a friend's house on Sat. night.
So we're all still tired.

Hey - did you all know that scarlet fever is still a thing?! I didn't, until Harper was diagnosed with it this morning! I literally said "I didn't know that was still a thing!" to the doctor.
Strangely, she never complained of a sore throat. I thought she had a stomach bug until she developed a rash last night.
Also, antibiotics are miracle drugs. 20 minutes after the first dose and she has energy and is eating!

Yep... that's why, although i'm not generally pro rushing to the doctor, if i even suspected strep we went for a culture.
eta: This was not a dig at you mom! It can be hard to tell strep and there are lots of things we don't know till we experience it!

Poor Harper! I'm glad she's feeling better and I hope the rest of her recovery is easy.
