Is it a pay subscription for those desk bells on you tube? The videos on YouTube are free, and I've seen bells and workbooks on Amazon. There is a paid program which has more videos and resources available and different membership levels and bundles. It might be the better way to go. I know my kids like the YouTube videos, but they are still kind of young. prodigiesmusic.com/shop/Dnephew is 2.5 (although E saw me shopping for them and now wants them too). I'll check out more of the you tube videos. I want to make sure I'm not giving them a project that mom and dad have to help with. They don't want the kitchen anymore. I have to stop saving stuff for them.

K made the vball team! Woohoo! Practices are on Tuesday mornings 7am to start of school. I'm going to try to flex the time so I can get her there. This screws my 'plan' of having both kids on the same vball team but oh well.
And we're going to look at cats/kittens at the shelter this weekend. Kids don't know yet.

Sorry I need to vent. In light of recent information DH is now cut off from all money. I am in the process of removing him as authorized user to our two credit cards, will take him off checking tomorrow (he's already off savings but having a overdraft line on our checking made getting that approved take longer), a freeze will be put my credit, his credit and I am doing the girls' too . While I don't think he would go that far it's better safe than sorry.
The Ally account will also be shut down. All his checks from dad belong to me.
It's not a large sum of money but it shows he can't be trusted at all at this point in time. I do consider it progress that he confessed rather than letting me find out on my own but it doesn't make this any easier. After talking with him and the pharmacist we will proceed with suboxone. He still cannot control his urges. He was doing well and then panicked when the big wigs were coming to see the company and relapsed. The place tightly controls access and it's 12 week program designed to wean him off in a controlled setting. What papers I have read do show success but they are small group studies. It's worth a shot though because neither one of us can live like this anymore. I am not sure what I feel. I know this is part of the process. At this rate we are completely financially separated from each other. I am going to give this 12 week program time to work he's only been to two sessions so far and then evaluate again. After the 12 weeks they will decide what further action needs to be taken so it's not 12 weeks and done. I'm terrified of the price tag,we haven't gotten a bill or an EOB yet. We have a $2k per person deductible/$5k family. $5k individual OOP and a $8k family. We have $2k in the HSA right now so I can at least cover the deductible from that right out the gate. I'm rather sad about it though because there goes my braces down payment. Obviously DH getting better is more important because even if we separated there is still the kids to think about. It's just it's one more reminder of how much DH's demons keep taking from me. At some point I'd like to think the universe will balance and I'll get what I am owed but probably not. At any rate going to do some Christmas shopping today and try not to obsess. Other than this giant dark cloud hanging over us things have been going well and I am trying to focus on that.

Went Christmas shopping and spent some money on myself. Abby and I had a good time. She picked out a necklace and handed to me telling me she wanted to give it to me for Christmas. She can't read but it's a little necklace with a bear and the word "mama". Even the clerk went... "awww". Kids are good at picking the right moment to melt your heart. I bought it. And on the subject of gifts does anyone know something you can use to play music and use with your wireless buds that is not a cell phone? Gwen is not remotely ready for a phone but I want to get her something she can listen to music on. Walking around Target muttering about Walkmans only served to make me look crazy.

We're getting an amazon fire kids tablet so they can listen to our music on amazon. I'm sure an iPad or mp3 player would be fine but the tablet seemed easier and more multi purpose for us.

Do they not make mp3 players any more? It's been a few years since I got one for my DH, but it's more recent tech than a Walkman. (I still have my old Walkman somewhere in my basement.)

I was going to suggest a lower end ipod. Then I went and looked on Walmart's website and holy crap those things are expensive!

I'll have to browse I'm sure I'll find something. Target was bonkers in the electronic section. Explained why the rest of the store was dead. Lulled me into a false sense of security.

Sil is 36 weeks with a full previa. She's scheduled for a c-section at 37 weeks but started bleeding this morning and is in the hospital. Her and baby are ok but They're keeping her overnight to do a steroid injection for the babies lungs in the morning.

After much debate we decided to go with a Straight Talk phone for Gwen. I like the idea of if she pisses me off I can choose not to buy her more minutes. Good leverage.
If she's responsible eventually I'll add her to our cricket plan.

Drama, I'm sorry about your DH. But glad you had a good time with Abby. We got a cat this weekend. She's about 2 and is a pretty tortie. Her name is Cleo. I've got a photo posted on FB. If anyone wants to bring it over, that'd be fine. chiver78? We were going to get 2 kittens/cats but the kids agreed that they wanted Cleo. The lady working with us was really surprised that they agreed on 1 cat instead of 2. Cleo does need to be an only cat. There was some kind of altercation with another cat in the shelter. The kids seem to understand that part. All three of us (me, DH and the shelter lady) all pushed the point pretty hard. Cleo's got the run of the house already. I know, I know. We're supposed to keep her separated to adjust but she wanted out on Sat. night and I wasn't willing to sleep on the floor of the office to comfort her in there. She's settling in nicely. C adores her. K loves her but is afraid she's going to forget Fritzie. Empathy can really suck in an 11 year old.

DD11 wants some kind of mp3 player too. Trying to figure out what's the best way to download music to it. Feeling old.

Thanks!
Yeah, we'll be fine. She hopped the babygate we had to keep her out of the basement this monring. So DH went down to close the doors to the laundry room and furnace rooms. There are chemicals and paints and things in those rooms so they're a no go area for her. The rest of the basement is just a big fucking mess. I did make a start on it this weekend barely scratched the surface.

My DS was inept in kitchen, despite my best efforts to teach him to cook. When he was 12, he could not figure out how to measure 3 cups of milk because he could only find 2 1-cup measuring cups. He was really putting an effort to search for another measuring cup. SMH.

My dh wouldn't post that, but yeah I get questions like that. Like I'm going to flip my lid if he bought 2 12oz bags of chocolate chips instead of the 20oz bag that he can't find. Or he'll call because the 10oz bags are $3 more than the 12oz bags, and maybe I really wanted 2 of the 10oz bags. It's exhausting. He does it with his own stuff too so he isn't intentionally being a jerk but that doesn't mean I tolerate it any better. As an adult you just have to make the decision. I am not someone who will flip out over little stuff and he should absolutely know that by now, so make the freaking decision and move on!

I can see DH asking about the organic once, but not EVERY TIME he goes to the grocery store. Come on dude be an adult if she told you "get whatever" that means use your best judgement not that she's playing tricky mind games with you.

Ok I need help. I don't have a crafty bone in my body and I know there are people here that do ( giramomma ) Carrot has to make something to sell at the Holiday Bazaar in a couple weeks. It's part class project on having a business and making a profit and part fundraiser for the school. I hated all 3 years of it with older son and now I have to go through it again. He basically has to make 20 of something that he can sell for $1 to $5. Christmas type items/ornaments are the best for being able to sell them. Older son and I had one awesome year where we made these single serve "pies in a jar" with decorated lids. They just needed to be thrown in the oven in the jar to bake. Sold out right away and everyone loved them, but then they declared no food items. The next year we had a majorly failed attempt at homemade soaps. Not sure what we did the 3rd year. Definitely nothing good!
Help!

minnesotapaintlady How about cinnamon ornaments? I don't remember for sure but think they're made from cinnamon and white glue, get rolled out like for cookies, cut out with cookie cutters, a little hole poked out in the top for stringing a ribbon to hang them, then baked in the oven. A big jar of cinnamon can be had for cheap from Walmart or Aldi. There's probably a recipe on Google. You could use star, Christmas tree, Santa cookie cutters.

A just add water hand-print ornament. A bag with all the dry ingredients pre-mixed, a small paper plate to act as the mold (maybe with a hole precut at the top with a piece of straw in it to create a hole in the ornament), and a string to hang it up. Oh wait, if I google it's all dough based instead of my brain thinking it was more like a liquid you pour into something. So dry ingredients (with instructions), include something to make a hole (actually a piece of straw might be a great idea), a string to hang it up. Maybe add dye to some of the bags or do like for another $1 you can add the glitter color of your choice to the dry ingredients.
