I started at a private university on the east coast in 1978. Tuition was $4200/year plus room and board. Looked up costs for this year Tuition $65000 Housing $13000 and up depending on building Food at least $7000 And this is at a school ranked in the top 25 by US News, and is usually included in schools with the best ROI. mind you, i was talking public schools. private schools, i think tuition has ALWAYS been more expensive than room and board. that is kinda the difference.

College tuition has gotten absurd all around. Back when I went, I could make enough in a summer to at least eat into the costs. Tuition has risen at such a rate compared to FMW that you no longer can make enough to defray costs.

I went to a private co-op school so was able to work 6 months a year for decent pay while also getting practical experience in my field. EE at Drexel.

Trump went on a weird ramble about Gettysburg. Gettysburg, what an unbelievable battle that was," Trump said while addressing the crowd in the town and wearing a Make America Great Again hat. "It was so much, and so interesting, and so vicious and horrible, and so beautiful in so many different ways—it represented such a big portion of the success of this country," he continued. www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-rambling-rally-speech-raises-questions-1890121Do any of the MAGA minions hear what he’s saying or do they just gloss on over the crazy parts? Or maybe Trump is trying to gin up enthusiasm for a second civil war? Hard to imagine anyone with any knowledge of American History at all thinking of Gettysburg as anything more than a tragic slaughter. But then, I imagine Trump knows about as much about American History as he does about the Constitution.

I just went and took a look at what tuition is where I did my undergrad. Back in 1978-81, I seem to remember my tuition hovering around $428/semester for a state resident student commuting. Today, it is $4631 for a commuting student. A 10 fold difference in 40 years.
What I think was funny was that after I graduated I moved to Boston and started taking graduate courses at Harvard. Everything I learned in my undergrad education was essentially repeated at Harvard. TBH, I was pretty pissed at this, I was gearing up for a challenge. There was nothing new to learn, so I pretty much skated through. I changed job, and my new employer was not affiliated with Harvard, but Northeastern, so I could go there for peanuts too. I had to work a hell of a lot harder there.

I think most of them only really notice the buzz words that speak to them. They are probably listening to their own thoughts more than what he says. He had another word fart there and just breezed through the nonsensical sentence as if it made sense.

it is a marvelous address in it's brevity, darkness, and concision. it is easy to see why he is a beloved president.
i played Lincoln in a school play in 3rd or 4th grade, and had to memorize the address. it is not difficult.

In first grade of Catholic schooling, I played baby Jesus because I told my nun/teacher we had a baptismal cup at home. Turns out the baptismal cup was an eye wash cup. The nun laughed when I brought it in. I still got the role.

People are saying he was, by far, the most popular president ever!

Is that the battle where the orange paint addict personally advised Washington to attack the airfields so we could keep the "coloreds*" in their place. Just so they can not tax him and his buddies out of existence and persecute him in federal courts just to hamper his current attempt to get back i to the WH? I believe this was part of the trump university curriculum right? * I apologize for the use of that term but it fit in so well with the full page ad, calling for the death penalty for the later proven innocent Central Park 5, the orange paint addict took out. He is such a prince all around

www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump-s-chick-fil-a-photo-op-underscores-his-weakness-with-black-voters/ar-BB1lFWTu?ocid=msedgntp&pc=DCTS&cvid=bc546235a91441f8b2770fea5016aad0&ei=21Trump's campaign claimed he showed up at a Chick-fil-A in Atlanta and bought attendees chicken and milkshakes. His supporters spread a video far and wide of a Black woman, who appeared to be a random customer, hugging Trump and claiming the media has downplayed his Black support.
But it was later revealed that the woman is a Republican operative with ties to the Georgia Republican Party and Charlie Kirk, the founder of right-wing activist group Turning Point USA. And as the liberal outlet Meidas Touch noted, Trump’s campaign has deployed similar theatrics to give the impression other groups of voters like him, too.
If you don't already know it, the Chick-fil-A con is evidence of the opposite of the woman's claim — if anything, Trump's support among Black folks isn't nearly as high as he or his followers suggest it is. (In fact, recent polling data indicates it’s not). After all, if it were, he wouldn’t have to stage ostensibly organic events to give viewers that impression. And his followers probably wouldn’t have to create A.I.-generated images of him with fake Black people either.

Well, what made them think they would be safe from the grifter. By its very nature a grifter HAS to grift, especially if all the money you raise goes toward (not) paying the defense lawyers in your civil and criminal court cases

Trump is trying hard to pivot after winning the primary, trying to move to a more moderate position to pull in votes.
Unfortunately when he suggested a 15 week abortion ban might be good, he lost some outraged far right evangelicals who want zero abortion- period.
This morning on the news, I saw him say that the ACA doesn’t need to be abolished, we’re just spending too much money on it. Followed by a montage of him bitching about getting rid of Obamacare over the years, to huge cheers.
He might get a few additional voters, but I wonder how many he’ll lose.

Do they not realize video exists?

i was thinking about something today.
you remember when Trump said that we should rake our forests like Finland or someting? to prevent fires.
what occurred to me is that Trump has probably never been to a forest. i am not kidding. the only forest he probably knows is Central Park, where you could conceivably have an army of people raking shit up, and it might even make sense. where you also have probably a dozen fire units within a mile of the place to put a fire out. where you have irrigated vegitation. he probably thinks forests are like that.
he is so naiive. and it shows, every time he takes on a task he knows nothing about. like being a criminal defendant.
