He was a great Jeopardy host and received many awards. My wife and MIL watch it every night along with Wheel of Fortune.

Please don't "replace" him. Let Jeopardy die with him

Aw, crap. This is just awful. I know he understood what was happening very well, and what the risks were and he made the very brave decision to face the battle publicly and keep his fans informed. His dedication to treatment for the disease will help others. Alex, may you emcee Heaven's game shows forever, entertaining God, the angels and all those who have gone before us. Because even a perfect place needs a little fun competition.

Please don't "replace" him. Let Jeopardy die with him I would say no to that. Even as a little kid Jeopardy was my favorite game show. It was easily the most intelligent of them all, and the only one that was really challenging. Art Fleming was the host then. Alex Trebek was a great host, and has been for decades, but the show did not start with him. It shouldn't die with him, and I really doubt he would want it to.

RIP Alex!
I agree Tallguy...Jeopardy was before Alex & should live long after he has gone.
Is this why Ken Jennings was put on as a producer?....will he take over for Alex until they decide on a permanent replacement?

As a kid, i enjoyed High Rollers and his work on that show. Then of course the classic Cheers episode where Cliff blows it in the end and also on Ground Hogs Day with Bill Murrey answering all the questions day after day.

Reminds me of a night back in college. I was on a basketball road trip, and we had checked into our hotel rooms. It was two players per room, and the other guy turned on the TV. He turned it to Jeopardy, and I amazed him by rattling off answer after answer. Of course, I didn't have the advantage of having repeatedly seen the show, so I did actually miss a few. Not many though.

I imagine a past conversion with Trebek will come up and where he might have said who he would like to see take his place once he was gone. Who ever replaces Trebek, please don't let it be Tyra Banks.

I’m so sad that Alex is gone. I really hope jeopardy isn’t gone with him!

Ok, you just educated me. lol There was a game show in the 70's where all prices were discounted. I can't remember the name of the show, but as a little math wizard I had the mathematics down. My older sister and brother would run out of the house and ask me what the discounted price would be. At age 8, I got it right 90% of the time. I was a total nerd.

She is great at asking the questions

Not long ago at all. I hope he was on pain meds even recently while taping shows. I have heard pancreatic cancer is quite painful. ABC has a one hour retrospective look at his career at 10 p.m. EST, 9 P.M. CST tonight.
