How do Americans know if Trump really has COVID-19?

Tiny brought up the question "Are we really sure trump has Covid 19" in the Thoughts and Prayers thread.  

I am curious as to what would prove to you that Trump has COVID? 



For me, I think I would think Trump had it if he starts respecting the harm COVID can do (like Boris Johnson did). What would Trump have to do to show this?  Bring Dr. Fauci back in the limelight, not argue as much for the economy or schools to open, and don't harass Biden re: his mask-wearing habits.

That is a slight misrepresentation of what melania gives a fuck about. It was the children being separated from their parents asking for asylum at the border that she needed to get "a fucking break" from when she wanted to discuss Xmas decorations.  Think about what that says about her for a moment...

This would have to be a wide ranging hoax given the number of positives that have been reported. That and the fact that I do not believe all the physicians treating him would be in in this. That may be naive, but too many republicans have tested positive, and I do not see how that news benefit them

I think the benefit to them all is in the "see, it's not that bad.  we're all fine.  Just like we've been saying for months and months.  let's get the entertainment venues opened and filled with people again!  there's little danger from the virus. " 

Oddly enough, I think it's also a consideration if trump survives the virus -  he's probably NOT going to die while he's in office for a second term.   
If Biden is President he will have to be very careful.  And if Biden is sick or incapacitated or dies - we've got a woman who's also Black as President.   I'm pretty sure some of the swing voters aren't gonna like that possibility.  They couldn't stomach Hillary OR Obama...  a vote for Biden is a vote for their worse nightmare - and that makes trump look less awful (atleast he's white and male). 

Which is why I'm thinking trump is faking it. or if he does have it and it is mild - he's gonna milk it for every thing he can.   As we've seen with pictures "working" and then driving around the hospital waving at his fans....   

I'm OK with taking the risk on Biden's health (and Kamala being President if something should happen).   

As for the circus in Washington DC -  I keep thinking "It's all fun and games, until someone dies from Covid19."

As for the question of how do we know if trump actually HAS the virus?   I have no idea.  trump has spread so much "fake news" and bad information AND his people have gone along with it.... I have no idea what if anything that comes out of WDC is "true" or not.

I think he has it. I think the big unknown is how sick he is, and I don’t think we will not know that for sure, ever. Unless he dies from it.

Right now he seems intent on playing this off as nothing serious.

I inferred, since the catching it from the president is unlikely for a civilian, that they were speaking about death. If you died from covid it's pretty clear - no one would die just for show. At least, I don't think.

That brings me to another thing I am highly suspicious of - how long did Trump suspect he was sick, and were there other Republicans in Congress, who were sick and did not bother to quarantine b/c the party line is Covid-19 is a hoax, and they need to slam the Amy Coney Barrett nomination through the Senate ASAP.

Barr does not seem to want to Quarantine, and who knows who else is not being forthcoming.

Complete asshole behavior, and I think your question is a good one. The problem with hiding something like this is it will get worse. But talk about immoral and unethical behavior, to knowingly expose someone for your own gain. And to ignore the possibility that you may have been exposed. I have seriously not heard one conservative claim this was a hoax. I have a few liberals on my FB that were posting conspiracy theories about it being a hoax but they are those “out there” people to begin with so I just ignore.

What I don’t understand is why the uproar over the ride around the hospital if everyone thinks it is a hoax? Unless there are two groups of people on here - can’t say that I cross checked who was pissed off about the ride compared to who thinks it is a hoax

I am voting against an ideology that I do not agree with. I’m cool with all of you on here being disappointed over that. This is a very left leaning board. I wouldn’t expect most of you to agree with me.
