I read a couple of books, went to the gym, went grocery shopping, came home and read another book.

Three cups of coffee and I can't clear my head, from what went down last night! Oh, sorry...80's flashback.
Heading to the Blues & Brews festival tonight (Kenny Wayne Shepherd headlining). Promises to be a good time! Hope everyone has a stellar Saturday!

I'd like to see KWS live, hope you enjoy the show I will be spending my Saturday trying to shake this headache *cough* slight hangover, while getting the laundry done so I can pack either tonight or tomorrow morning. I have a concert cruise - Carbon Leaf, if you've heard of them - around Boston Harbor in the afternoon tomorrow, then I fly to DC for a week of training. right now, I'm making some breakfast and watching the women's final in the French Open.

Today will be housework and then taking DS to a local bookstore. They're supposed to have a booksigning with 14 different authors, giveaways, stuff like that. He's an avid reader and asked if we could go to it (found out about it at school, hope he likes some of the books).

Have fun in DC chiver!
I need to go to Kohls, grocery store, and maybe Bare Minerals and Sephora at the mall. And I swear once and for all this is going to be the weekend I whip the apartment into shape. Honestly I don't think there are enough hours to get it all done but I'm going to try anyway. At least get the living room/dining room done and the winter clothes put away.
Ooo one of my friends wanted to know when I was going to Kohls. Maybe I can finally drag him to IKEA to get a tv stand. I would do it myself but the things weigh like 100 pounds. And I can't lift the stupid tv either. I'm so getting a nice slim flat screen one day along with a hundred other things. My brother can have the current tv, he can actually move it.

Virgil, helped build a trail at the local mountain, and now I'm ready for a nap, but got to catch up on some of my work first.

doing a couple of loads of laundry, watching the Nascar truck race, got homemade verde sauce simmering on the stove, chicken is already done cooking, will put together chicken enchilladas later for dinner. Now waiting for it to cool off a little bit and then I'll go out and water the garden & all the flowers.

I spent the afternoon carting away crap that washed up on our lawn from the last storm. The water level is so high that the waves went right over the breakwall and spewed driftwood, seaweed and whatever else was in the river all over our lawn. We hauled away a full pickup truck load, and a few of the logs had to be cut with a chainsaw so I could pick them up. The boat launch still isn't cleared out, and that was 3 trailer loads full. Back at it tomorrow.
I'm going to steff's for dinner.

I guess I might want to make a bigger bowl of guacamole and more cheese dip with everyone showing up here....lol who wants to stand and fry tortillas for me while I assemble? My kiddo & his buddies haven't woken up yet and normally one of them handles that.

Letssee. Pot of coffee. Laundry. Mulch and flower run. Put down 24 bags of mulch in the front beds. Weeded the beds around the side patio and in the backyard. Tamed a jungle of rose vines and managed to scratch the shit out of myself. Planted more flowers. parked on main to welcome the high school girl's softball team back to town (state championship win today). Oh, I also listened to their game and yelled like a loon at the radio while I was working in the yard. I finally just inhaled some chips and dip because I'd had coffee, boatloads of water and nothing else today. managed to get sun burnt despite several applications of sunscreen because it was hot as hades and I was sweating like a pig. Currently I'm watching the Cubs and Cardinals play extra innings and contemplating showering. Try not to be jealous of my special day. Much of the same tomorrow if the weather cooperates. yippee. steff, I'm coming for dinner too. I'm not too late, am I?

I'm bored silly today. The weather's so lousy I didn't feel like going out anywhere. Just finished grabbing a bite to eat and thinking I should maybe watch a movie to kill a couple of hours. I fnished crocheting the last sleeve of a summer top I'm making, so now I have to finish putting that all together too, so I can actually wear it some time. Then I might be tired enough to actually get some sleep tonite.

A friend is visiting all of his acquaintances homes in the area that could be flooded before the event. That is an easy, nice way to let people know you care.
<SL, I think MU is thinking of serving weiners.>

RofC and swamp, sounds like you were both very busy today. I've got a red velvet cheesecake in the oven right now (even though it's over 80's out, gotta love central air . Wonder if that will go with steff's enchiladas...

Ratchets red velvet cheesecake is this amazing evilness CL introduced us to. Its red velvet flavored cheesecake. The recipe is in the recipe section.
Apple I hope you have someone to help you eat it. The stuff is oh so good but I don't want to contemplate how many calories must be in a slice.

Wvu is absolutely right, it's all CL's fault. I think red velvet is a southern dessert but I'm not sure. We rarely hear of it where I am. It uses buttermilk and cocoa and a half gallon of red food coloring, hence the "red" part of the name. Ok, so maybe half gallon is an exaggeration, but not much of one I calls for two one ounce bottles (I just went a bought a big bottle of it a couple weeks ago instead...) My son will eat some. I'll probably deliver some to my parents tomorrow. After that, the guys at work might get some.

QOC it is soooo good. Definitely worth the trip. I made one at Thanksgiving and accidentally doubled the butter in the chocolate graham cracker crust. It is so rich. Oh its also iced with cream cheese frosting.
apple I'm pretty sure red velvet is a southern thing.
I just made a steak. Damn was it good. Made mushrooms, onions, and green peppers to go with it.

Stop talking about delicious food!! I just had a bowl of boring cereal for dinner. I've been off from work for two weeks and my hours are all effed up. I've been sleeping in the afternoon and up all night. I dread going back to work on Monday.

Sorry empire. I understand the screwed up hours though. I'm a night owl but I start work at 7:30am and soon I'm switching to 7am. It is very easy for me to revert to staying up till 2 or 3 and getting up at 10 or 11. And then I am in trouble when the work week starts again. I just can't seem to fall asleep before midnight.
