it will be interesting to see how the Republican Death Machine performs in Georgia. I'm super interested in the difference in totals between the two races. So - only these 2 races on the ballot? How many may split their vote? Or vote in one race and decline to vote in the other? Would be a study...

Anecdotal but I found it interesting: woman said she was excited to vote for Ossoff because her daughter was a member of the LTGB, less excited by Warnock based on concern for keeping religion out of government. She did say she voted for Warnock anyway.

There is a third race, to see who sits on the Georgia Public Service Commission, which is important in Georgia because it’s who regulates energy companies. I’m watching MSNBC and they keep comparing the current numbers vs the 2020 race vs the 2016 race - it’s interesting that several GA counties have turned significantly more blue since 2016 - by like 10 points. This should be a freak out moment for the Republicans in Georgia - for years they’ve sat comfortably like a pig in shit, confident they will always win, and now, over these last three contests, they’ve seen multiple counties slipping from red to blue.

Ossoff is slightly over Perdue, Warnock is over Loefller by a about 0.5 % more. The talking heads are saying that may be because Perdue has been a senator for a while, but Loeffler was appointed to her seat, and only had it a short time. Plus Loeffler is one of the least inspiring speaker I’ve been in a long time - she mostly speaks in a monotone, and instead of being enthusiastic and engaging, she just keeps smiling a bland Miss America smile.

www.electionbettingodds.com/odds have been moving steadily for Democrats for the last 3 hours. they are now listed as 2:1 favourites (their best showing of the cycle). not time for popping the corks yet. AT ALL. but I would love to see Mitch in the Ditch.

uopdate at 9:18 EST- betting odds show Democrats as 3:1 favourites. not sure what they are looking at, but whatever it is looks bad for the GOP.

edit: NYT is showing Warnock as "probable" now. the likely range has Warnock winning by 0-4%.

ok, now is the time for the Stop The Steal crowd to start shouting. Perdue has a narrow lead over Ossoff, which he is likely to lose as the mail-in ballots are tabulated.

CNN was acting really skeptical on both Dems.
NY Times projection shows both likely winning (Warnock >95%, Ossoff 93%)
When DeKalb is reported, Trump's gonna lose his mind over a "massive ". He has already pre-emptively tweeted about it.
MAGATs are gonna lose their sh*t. Hope there's no violence.
Gabriel Sterling is now saying 171k DeKalb votes outstanding. At the current ratios, that will push both Dems over the top.

there are about half a million votes left to count. almost all of them are in the Atlanta area. Democrats are going to win over 70% of them. the Ossoff race will be close. the Warnock one? not so much.

the problem for the GOP is that they have not really outperformed anywhere tonight, and they have to SIGNIFICANTLY outperform in Atlanta.
not likely.

Warnock just took the lead. he won't relinquish it.
Edit: Ossoff trails by 15k with 250k left to count. over 1/3 of that is mail-in.

This race is giving me heart palpitations! enjoy it. the GOP should have EASILY won this seat. 176,000 votes to count.
it looks like Ossoff is going to win by about 50k. Warnock is going to win by at least twice that.
I would like everyone to go back to the first page of this thread at some point.
