Fifty fifty would be wonderful, comparatively speaking. Vice President Harris would be spending quite a bit of time on the Senate floor.

I am flipping through the channels, and virtually ALL of the "liberal media" is suggesting that Democrats will LOSE seats in the house and Senate.
I think that is untrue. I think they will gain a couple. did I expect them to gain more? yes. Maine is a particularly galling defeat for Democrats. but that is not the same thing at all.
if Biden wins, and Democrats gain seats, they should NOT complain. they should get to work. there is a runoff election coming in GA. maybe two if they are lucky. this is the time to gather together and move forward.
if they can show Republicans that they are not a party of retribution, they will stand a decent chance of building going forward. and that is VITAL for America at this time. so, HOPE for it.

I could live with 50/50. That's just enough that McConnell does not have the majority to push through whatever his dastardly heart desires. I'd prefer the majority so we could wipe the floor with him but an even balance I will take. I think more Repubs will start deserting the ship now that they have secured their offices and don't need Trump's coat tails anymore.
Which makes them hypocritical assholes but I will take what I can get.

Maybe if it’s fifty fifty both sides will have to figure out a way to agree on bills to pass, not just The GOP crushing through their trumpian agenda.

Passing bills will require compromise. Have you seen any evidence that conservative republicans want to compromise. And you assume McConnell actually wants to pass bills. There is no recent evidence to support that notion.

So, due to my job I am not allowed to donate directly to political campaigns. I’m eyeing black voters matter and directing it to GA. Any other indirect support suggestions for the January runoffs?
Also, I love you Stacy Abrams!

There is talk about how a grass roots person in some state set up a system of like Donor Choice and other.. .help out the people of the state in the name of the candidates and it seemed like positive effect. I'm also waiting to see digital game decisions. I'll let you know if i hear more about those.
I'd say they are going to need phone bankers this coming week. The deadline to apply for an absentee ballot for the special is in like 2 weeks... people will need to be given this information.

Thanks! I‘m specifically looking for causes that don’t ask you to confirm that you are not a federal contractor. I do like donating to anti-voter-suppression causes, both bc suppression makes me stabby and it’s not my fault that it’s almost entirely one-sided Unfortunately I‘m kinda over subscribed on the energy front already (distance learning para to my kid, full time job, now elder care) but I will throw money at worthy causes all day long. More or less literally. My last credit card bill was kinda embarrassing

And with letting the 2020 presidential thread die you won't have to change a thread title with a concession title like 'Í Wás Wrong. No Mittmentum. Obama Re-elected' because you kept it neutral. Kudos.

this might have to do with Trafalgar, who has done very well in their polling the last few cycles: projects.fivethirtyeight.com/georgia-senate-polls/the last week looks TERRIBLE for the GOP. and this is precisely the WRONG time for this to happen. if you are them. six days to go......

The Georgia GOP is worried because early voting overwhelmingly favors the Dems. Of course that is the way the general election went too. GOP voters largely made it up on election day. The Georgia GOP is understandably nervous though. They do have to get out the vote.

there are some headwinds for the GOP in this election.
first of all, Trump is an anti-government insurgency. it is hard to imagine his voters ENTHUSIASTICALLY coming out for Loeffler and Purdue. furthermore, those people, even IF elected, are NO HELP to the lame duck president. none. the result is the same if they win or lose because Pence casts the vote in the event of a tie for the next two weeks, and after that, Trump is no longer president.
in addition, there is the Stop The Steal crap, winter, Covid, voter registration, fundraising etc. all of this shit is STRONGLY favoring Dems.
the one and only thing the GOP has going for them is that they TEND to do well in off-cycle elections (though this has not been the case particularly since Trump too office).
I am afraid to be optimistic about GA. however, having delivered on Biden, I can no longer rule out the possibility that the Dems will sweep these runoffs.

I don't know if this is true or myth but I heard dog sled drivers would use the body heat of their dogs to stay warm. How many dogs depended on how cold it was. Also, check the "Presidential Behavior" thread.

I would like both GOP candidates to lose, but especially Loeffler. She seems to be some special kind of crazy. I will hope. I don't know what weather is expected Jan. 5th, but maybe I will check.

Loeffler will PROBABLY lose. Perdue is another question entirely.
note: this is based on current polling and momentum ONLY. stuff could very much shift in the last few days, here.

Honestly that's how its been since the beginning. Loeffler was always more likely to lose than Perdue.

Loeffler has never won an election as far as my research showed.

But more news has come out about Perdue...during his time at Dollar General...complaints/law suits increased to over 2500..suits on pay, gender & something else. I'll have to go look for the article... Found it...race was the other law suits.... www.newsweek.com/david-perdues-dollar-general-was-sued-2500-times-sex-race-wage-practices-1558184And Loeffler is getting backlash on Parler (so I've read) about asking for donations to her campaign...she's a billionaire, she shouldn't need any donations.

Loeffler has never won an election as far as my research showed. No, and she is running ads down-grading a Pastor...of a very popular church. She is quoting things out of context and doesn't know how to respond to questions about those things either. She may be rich, she may have graduated from UofI (University of Illinois), but she sure is dumb in a lot of respects.
