Doors ARE entry points. An analogy where a door = a wall is a fail.
It's a wall when closed and locked. Don't see it as a total analogous fail, as it performs as a wall, or it wouldn't be in the opening.

Wow, I think I just read 125 posts not relating to the Green NewDeal. Did you know that the target time frame for 100% renewable energy in the US was 10 years ? In the green new deal.

I've heard that there is a process that is going to be used, where you use atmospheric carbon to make an easily used building material, that's self renewing.
This should fit well with the new green deal.

Remember we are talking about putting walls where there are no walls,, wide open spaces! so why don't we use drones to monitor it instead of dumping billions into a wall that can be climbed? Sounds cheaper to me, and probably more efficient. You deploy the resources where needed. Since the cross at random spots that are open. There is no way to deploy where needed.

Drones seem to work pretty well in warfare. Do you think the enemy is telling our side their plans so we can be sure to target the right spots?

This should fit well with the new green deal. I saw that on an episode of Through the Wormhole. Very neat concept. They had another one that was a greenhouse project. I forgot exactly what it does but they said with that technology they can take areas humans have turned into wastelands and repopulate them with native plants. There are some pilot houses in I think it was Africa and the Middle East right now.
The episode is "Can we hack the planet?" if you are interested.

Military equipment, soldiers, are easily tracked vs civilians moving within civilian populations. Same reason terrorism is so hard to track. You can drone survey smaller areas that are likely terrorist targets, or where soldiers and equipment are moving. You can't effectively survey large areas and interdict effectively.

My favorite possible green energy idea is taking methane from cows and turning it into energy. That way we don't have to go vegan, wear plastic shoes, or live in the dark. Cow farts are the future of energy!

Cow farts are the future of energy! Actually some small Indian villages already do this - the village has a small generator that runs off the gas from cow dung. Every day, villagers collect their cow dung and carry it to the generator and they get paid for it. Then, every night, the generator runs for several hours, powering lights, sewing machines, TVs, etc. for the village.

You set out motion detectors/heat detectors around a perimeter, then, if they go off, send a drone to see if it's a cow or a person.
If it's a person, go shoot it.
No reason watch towers posted along the border with this kind of technology couldn't spot and round up the alleged 'caravans' of illegals 'flooding' the country just as well (or better) than a wall, since walls can be scaled or dug under pretty easily, if they aren't monitored.

That will also really cut down on the tourists, going to the Border to see what it look like!

Cow farts are the future of energy! That's a good one. I also like the programs to recycle cooking oil into fuel. I may not produce a ton at home but massive amounts are produced by food manufacturing companies. If you could tie that into making them a profit for handing over their oil we could have something there.

Supposedly a diesel engine will run on French fry grease. You only have to run the grease through a filter to remove the chunks.
I almost bought a diesel VW for my last car, thinking if we ever had a zombie apocalypse, I could make my way across country using the fryers of every fast food joint I passed.
And my car would smell like French fries.

So THAT is how they are keeping their cars running on The Walking Dead! Because it's getting harder and harder to believe all those cars are still running on gas all this time.

they have a pretty good idea. knowing the EXACT number is not important. It would be nice to know some where within 10 million or so! I think we can safely say that.

All of these numbers posted by me and the Government are at best an educated guess! Case in point on my part, I was working for a business ( contract work) the other day, I posted about it,
Five of the six working in back spoke little to no English,, So my guess is that at least five were illegal, the sixth person maybe a citizen, only because she has been there for years. since I have done doing their work, But that is again just a guess. That said, I know of some people that have been here for 18 to 20 years illegally because the the owner have told me so. My point is, no one including the Government knows,

I'm neutral on the wall. It has it's ups and downsides. Way more beneficial where urban areas are close and effective interdiction times are short vs very large open areas where you have more time. Without trying to be condescending, you might not be seeing the scale of area that would need to be monitored. My mediocre analogy is a long gravel road compared to a same length paved road. Initial cost is higher on the paved road, but it doesn't require continuous bi-weekly grading, leveling, checking. A few potholes will form (tunnels) But these are easily filled at low cost, a couple times a year. It takes way longer to make that tunnel (months, digging, removing material, while not getting caught) Than it is to fill it in with a cement truck.

A lot of our buses run on used restaurant grease.

They actually do ! A friend of mine converted his diesel F-350 Ford pickup to run on fryer oil. He had the filtration system set up in his garage, it cost about $4,000 It also required a heater in the fuel tank to keep it thin enough He bought the oil from a local small restaurant for $.35/gallon. No chance getting it from any bigger or chain restaurant, they process, have a system in place, for their own oil. When we used to travel on group vacations years ago, we called his truck "the deep fryer" because of the exhaust smell.

I'm going way out of my knowledge zone, but I think I remember that gasoline goes 'bad' after sitting for some length of time - like 2 years? I think it's because it absorbs moisture from the atmosphere and no longer has the right mix to burn well? So all those apocalyptic movies and Tv shows where people are driving cars 10 years after we stopped making gasoline are pretty much hoo-haw (unless they started making biofuel from vegetation and converted the engines to run on it).
That's what I never understood about Mad Max - they're out in a wasteland with no water, yet everyone drives around everywhere on a gas guzzler?
And in that Kevin Costner movie, where the earth is covered with water, and yet they still have cigarettes? (Smoking dried seaweed maybe?)

the green platform would be wildly remiss in not addressing that.

In the dystopian future, bicycles will be the best method of transportation. Very efficient.
