Everyone likes a little romance, right? What do you consider romantic and what romance do you actually get/give? Currently my only encounters with romance are in the pages of books or while watching tv But when I think of romance I'm more of a traditionalist - I want candles and soft music.

Doing something for someone just because you know it will make them happy.

Yes, candle lit dinner flirting and long massages. Some of the things I've done have backfired. I make a large gift box and hid inside it naked and left a card with a note saying she had a present. When she went to open the box I popped out and she ended up being so scared she almost pooped herself. Dressed up in a tux and played waiter for her and kid. They loved that. Had a menu and everything, was kinda fun. Leaving a trail of notes with little presents is nice. My wife isn't a romatic giver though. Her idea of foreplay is "wanna have sex?".

Whoever painted that is obviously a talented painter. I have to wonder how the hell they ever thought of that scene to paint!

I don't know who did the original painting, but worth1000.com is a site for photo shop competitions. The theme for this particular one was "Animal Renaissance". I thought of Doc as soon as I saw it. I think the most romantic thing about romance is that the definition can and does change over the years. My early idea of romance was a night out at a fancy restaurant, money spent, etc. Now it's quiet time at home, and each of us doing nice things for the other. It's romantic that after almost 19 years of marriage, we can still surprise each other with the little things that bring daily joy to the day.

We tried getting married in the drive-thru, but sadly had to take our bucket to the JOP. It wasn't all bad -- I carried it as my bouquet! ;D

"Brace yourself Bridgette!" Now, that is romance.

Sitting on the dock I totally freaking misread that the first time!!! And it was even funnier since it was Later (actually, that's why I read it again)

I'm not really a romantic...poetry would be totally lost on me and while I do like to receive flowers "just because", the realist in me knows they will be dead in 3 days and that's $50 down the drain.
