I am happy to see it's just not my DH who starts to sprinkle the crushed red peppers before they even pick a slice. I try to start with at least one slice as is and then slowly start with the crushed pepper

Tonight barbecued hamburgers and scalloped potatoes.
I substituted part of the milk with crème, not wise but anxious to try. Also has cayenne and paprika.

I actually usually unscrew the top of the shaker.but i have heartburn today, so I held off a bit.

Something with hamburger. Maybe meatloaf. I'll do that with mashed potatoes and a green vegetable on side.
Tuesday night probably something quick on way to airport.
After that on vacation through next Monday.

I'll probably make some Pasta Puttanesca. It's quick, easy and delicious. Evidently, "ladies of the night" made it in between servicing clients.

I stopped on my way home to pick up meats for the dogs, and grabbed a couple things for myself as well. dinner tonight was just a good chunk of French baguette paired with some seasoned dipping oil with enough grated parmesan to render a nice sludge. there's a large glass of red wine well underway.
baguette was $2, bottle of red was $10, everything else was here.
next up, I will be shredding a rotisserie chicken ($5) for the pups. I may save a little for myself, idk. I think I am good for proteins with the lemon garlic chicken I made yesterday and the deli turkey and tuna salad that I grabbed on Saturday.

I didn't get my chicken last night. The fireplace guy took a little longer than anticipated. Therefore, I had portion # 3 of the stew I made a couple days ago. Tonight will be the last serving.
Not bad: 4 servings of stew out of 1/2# of beef.
I do have a grocery list for today, which is a vast improvement for me...now I just have to remember to take it with me.

I'm going to be cooking more now. The cafeteria at work is costing me too much money. I need to stop.

I bought a big ham for $16. I tried to get it sliced but he said they were sanitizing the equipment.
We had sliced ham, fried potatoes, and baked beans with salad.

I'm not even remotely close to hungry tonight, but the only other thing I have eaten today was supposedly SMALL salad. see below. for dinner, I seasoned and roasted a broccoli crown and tossed it with some bowtie pasta, and some cheese. theres more leftovers than I want to admit. ETA:pic. supposedly, this is a *small* salad with broiled salmon. whatever it was, it's why I didnt need dinner but made something anyway.

I'm sitting here and fell asleep, hubs is watching an Indiana Jones type show.
We had pizza, I just ate 2 small slices, I can take it or leave it. Hubs and DD love it. I have to make her slow down and chew her food and make her take smaller bites. She gets choked she eats such big bites and doesn't chew it well. I have to keep after her about it.
Now I'm hungry have to find something. I had a sweet potato earlier and coffee for breakfast. then the pizza and some orange juice. the last few days not eating much but still not losing weight. I plateau quickly, I have some turkey left, may slice me some real thin and make a salad.

if I may offer a suggestion? since I've been eating so sporadically lately, one of the things I have been doing is keeping a small container of tuna salad in the fridge. I'm buying mine at the village deli, but I actually really like theirs. you could easily mix your own. I have some serious non-diabetic blood sugar issues. if I feel myself getting shaky because I haven't eaten in too long, I'll grab a spoonful of that tuna salad and a slug of water and have a seat for a few min. I'm not sure if it's the protein in the tuna and mayo, or the natural sugars in the celery and apple, or what it is. but those little 8oz tubs of tuna salad have probably saved my life the last couple months. if you just need a couple bites of something, having something like this already prepared and ready to go would likely help you out.

tonight I mixed up a lazy bruschetta topping and added a cut up slice of prosciutto. I tossed half of it with a package of chicken and prosciutto raviolis that looked good in the refrigerated case at the store ($3.99).
well, a third or so of the raviolis fell apart to varying states during boiling. it all tasted okay, but I dont think I'm buying these again. I have another portion for tomorrow or whenever, plus the other half of the bruschetta to do something else with.

tonight I made a pot of soup I had planned to get going this am, so that I could send my dad home with half of it. chicken legs needed cooking, it had been in the freezer and pulled to thaw on Thursday night. soup was the hearty Acadian chicken and dumplings soup I make all winter. I had a cup tonight, and will likely give a big container to a friend tomorrow. the rest, I will pick at all week.

Using up leftover ham in soup. Just finished off a small batch of bean and ham and now we're eating split pea with ham. Since the weather is cool and wet a pot of chili is probably going to be on the menu soon.

Another thing that helps blood sugar is cottage cheese, I can eat it and get relief. Also PayDay candy bar, if I'm really crashing, and I just ordered some peanut butter crackers, they say that is really good. I'm not crazy about peanut butter but can eat it like that. Even a glass of milk helps or a boiled egg. Today as a precaution I ate 4 glucose tabs while working. I did fine, did yesterday too.
I haven't cooked much in the last few days, if I do physical work I'm just to dead to cook, so we have had pizza, night before fast food, not good. Tonight I got DD her McD's cheeseburgers and me a wrap, a spinach one from Subway and hubs the chipotle one. I have half of mine left. It had avocado on it so pretty good. Hubs said he would rather have had one like mine.
Tomorrow night we are having Mexican, tacos, we all like that and its not much work. I will prep tomorrow, then just have to fix the hamburger mix. I need to go to town tomorrow so will pick up avocadoes and sour crème.
