We are back from a week away and my suitcase is emptied, but not all things have been put away. Had to go to the farmers market and grocery store to get stuff for the coming week. Cooked and cleaned the kitchen. Hopefully the laundry mountain can be conquered tomorrow as we have to go out and will be back late.

Our personal registrations, property taxes, and insurance is paid for the year except, one boat insurance, for $113, haven't gotten it yet. It's a load off my mind.
On business, all that is left is one local property to pay and the truck and trailers ins. Tx property in Sept and PO ins in August. All registrations are paid.
I'm happy to have most of this done for the year.

Hi Kids! Not much progress to report, I'm afraid. Does getting through Easter, including all of the cooking count? I've been spending too much time on the telephone dealing with stuff, and sending out necessary paperwork.

Somehow I missed the fact that the reason DD and family were dropping by this evening was to pick up her big bookcase. For DD's first birthday my parents had a bookcase custom made for her. It is 5' x 5' and made of alder wood. It was great when she was growing up for keeping toys contained when she was little and transitioned into more of an actual bookcase as she grew older. I had given up that she was actually going to move it so had been storing grandkids toys on it. Now I need to find someway to organize the toys, it won't be hard just need to figure it out.

It was snowing yesterday when the Goodwill truck was in town, so I didn't take my boxes over.
This morning I have moved them to the garage since I am cleaning for the cleaners.

I've determined that not only does no one else in this house sweep the kitchen, but I think they turned off Cal the Roomba also. How else is there that much debris on the kitchen floor? Sigh.

Looking at everything I have to do here. I've been crazy busy at work, DH has surgery and can barely walk 3 weeks later (normal, so I'm not worried), so I have lots to do, clean, purge. And the college kids will be home soon! Only 1 of them is helpful. Anyone want a tatting book? Brand new but I'm never going to teach myself so it should go.

I feel your pain. We have dark flooring, and the sand that gets tracked in is white-ish. Which means, I sweep every single day, and it still isn't enough. My next door neighbor has a Roomba. I might have to consider investing in one.

When the people who don't sweep also don't shut off the Roomba because they don't like the little bit of noise it makes, and then I was gone for literally half of each week each of these last three weeks and didn't realize that's what happened,
It's actually quite helpful. I was sweeping every day, and now I sweep about twice per week. It's definitely a luxury though. I bought it almost two years ago after we sold a house and I had a bit of snowflake money.

Done with --YNAB update --YNAB budget for May --paying credit cards that we use like debit cards for the points --four loads of laundry folded and some of that put away --ironing --shite pile completely dealt with--tasks and tossing --filed the necessary pile --some summer scheduling
Still need to --clean toilets --cardio --walk dog --rake a portion of the yard of its winter debris --review some scholarship applications --prep for a 8:00 am meeting --vacuum area rug --determine at least a mild plan for the week

The half bath and entry way got cleaned today. All of the Easter stuff has been put away and the linens have been swapped. I did a first pass on the paper piles.
Suitcases are emptied and back in the basement. Dishwasher is ready to start.

I ended up mowing Mom's lawn this afternoon and this may become more of an occurrence. The last two times she has mowed it has taken her 3 hours and then she spent most of the next two days in bed.

Saturday was a beautiful day - cool but sunny. I mowed and edged 1/2 of the flower beds. Hoping this coming Saturday I can finish up the edging. I didn't edge last year, so they are really bad. DS#1 and I went to my dads and starting moving a bunch of stuff for the sale into the barn. We got a lot done, but have a lot to go. Our house is a mess - need to dust and run the sweeper. Maybe even mop the floors, but with all the rain coming this week - it will be pointless with the kids and dog in and out. I didn't clean out one single cabinet in the kitchen. I need to focus on that during the week and keep the weekends for outside work.

I was tripping over stuff in my closet yesterday and decided to go through my pants. I have decluttered tops and sweaters several times, but skipped over the pants. I pulled out 25 items from my closet and moved my winter wardrobe downstairs and my summer wardrobe upstairs. I have a few pairs of capris/full length pants that I need to shorten, so they are sitting on the love seat in the bedroom. Bag of Goodwill items in my car. Added my old shower curtain.
I got a Chloe bug and decided I need different pillows on the sofa for summer. I bought these for my sofa, but my sofas are brown, and there is no brown in them.
www.target.com/p/floral-throw-pillow-threshold-153/-/A-53975854?preselect=53876196#lnk=sametab
DD really likes the ones from Target.
So, Kohls has these:
www.kohls.com/product/prd-3571496/blossom-buddies-woven-jacquard-throw-pillow.jsp?prdPV=103
DH thinks they look like fall anyways.
There is a Home Goods in my city, I might just run in there tonight.
DS has friends that are moving their business, and they have scraps of granite they are giving away. We have to move it by tomorrow and it is raining. DH wants to redo the countertops in our bathrooms. The one, I am fine with. Master bath is the dilemma. I really would like a 60" vanity. Current one is 48". Buying a different vanity is about $1,000 + cutting the granite will run about 200. He is doing both first floor bathrooms so it is 200+200, he is also having our rental property kitchen done - not sure how much but maybe $400. New lamps for rental yesterday $75. He has also been painting there, so he is about $200 into paint. I think he said he is going to do new carpet in the upper too.
My vanity drives me crazy b/c there is room for a 60" vanity, but the builder assistant who helped me do my selections discouraged me from choosing a bigger vanity. She said the plumbers did not like it to be too crowded. I am very sorry I did not overrule her as there is about 66" and the big 18" gap between the end of the vanity and the toilet looks ridiculous to me. I also sure could use the extra counter space on the vanity. I do however agree with DH that now might not be the time to go there...but then I ask myself why do anything - but DH is firm, he is changing the countertop out.
I also put the few Easter items I had out away yesterday.

I got fed up Saturday and 3 boxes of stuff left the house and went to donation. It took a while due to the line but I am glad to get something out of the house.

DH and I went through some baby girls clothes yesterday, so I have more stuff in the box to donate, and some items in a box to attempt to sell once at a consignment sale.
We also helped the kids clean the playroom, so things are mostly put away, and I threw away some broken Happy Meal type toys.

Not much accomplished because I was gone for most of Saturday, and DH's aunt and uncle were here visiting (see what I did there? ). Went downstairs to start laundry yesterday and discovered DH had done several loads during my absence Saturday. A pleasant surprise! So, I did just 2 loads of laundry, emptied 2 garbage cans, scrubbed our toilet, organized my side of the walk in closet, and emptied, refilled, and started the dishwasher. Did a pile of hand washed pots and pans, too. Skimmed 3 newspapers and read the comics, and cleared out several hours worth of DVR programs. I have some down time in a few weekends, and want to purge my home office closet and hanging files. It is time.

A place I pass on my way to work is having a shredding and donation event on Friday. I’m trying to take as much stuff as I can. Already have a trash bag full of clothes to take, without really trying. Need to go through my summer clothes boxes before Friday and see what else can go. And pull out the tax boxes and see what from those can go. I’m pretty sure I have some cost basis stuff in there, so I need to look through each envelope. Wish I’d seen the sign earlier, but I’m getting through what I can.

I was off early today for a Dr. appt, unfortunately it was an eye appt, so my eyes were dilated and I didn't feel like doing much. It was a gorgeous, bright, sunny day and it was all I could do to get the garbage cans to the curb. I did manage to do a load of jeans so they will be clean for our trip this weekend.

The mountain of laundry has been conquered and all put away. Made a stir fry out of fresh vegetables from the farmers market before they start to wilt - slowly starting to empty the refrigerator.

Hello friends! We got back a few hours ago. We had a fabulous trip seeing friends and family and playing with Baby! And, I met Malarky yesterday morning for coffee! I really enjoyed meeting her, and her croissants are delicious! I wasn't able to meet chiver78 because we spent less time in Boston than originally planned (we all spent the second weekend together in NY instead.) Our bedroom was redone while we were gone (paint and parquet). It looks great! It was more expensive than planned because we added an accent wall and had the landing and closets painted/refloored too. We plan to buy new curtains. Done so far today: - I put away my clothes + shoes from DS2's room/DH's office (DH hasn't started). - I put away our sheets + towels from DS2's room/DH's office.
- I unpacked my suitcase and carry-on. - I put both bags in the basement. - I'm on my 6th load of laundry.
- I ordered the new curtains.
Still to do: - lots more laundry (we were very behind when we left) - 2 boxes of bedroom/bathroom Stuff to go through - go through DH's clothes + Stuff with him
- Shitepile (not today) I miss everyone terribly but it's good to be home. Tomorrow is a holiday. I go back to work on Fri.

I missed you and your wise advice.
The bedroom sounds wonderful.
Get some rest today so you are ready to go back to work on Friday.

Yes TheOtherMe , we went to Boston and NY. Aww thank you! I missed you guys too! I managed to see my entire family and my three best friends from childhood/college. It was a wonderful trip.
I also bought the 3 things I wanted: my character shoes, a pair of Levi's, and a pair of sweatpants. DH got a ton of stuff at Gap (he needed it), and we got each of the kids something. And everything was on sale!
