Just got back from my first craft retreat. So much fun and so many projects to complete. I did manage to get all of the supplies put back into my storage areas. Currently have five incomplete projects, at least two to start and many other ideas in the planning stages. Today I managed to get the car filled up and also made it to the gym for the first time in ages. Luggage used for that retreat has been emptied and stored away. Laundry and dishes are up to date. House is in pretty good shape. Just a few areas need work. While putting the luggage away I pinpointed an area that might need further attention in the de-cluttering department. I might try to begin in that area this week. Will also help as I need to find a few basic supplies that I think I have that I can't put my hands on at this time. We are expecting bad weather later this afternoon so I am trying to get a few things done before they come through. Plan not to leave the house in that kind of weather. Need to get off the computer and get started on something.

Decluttered some sippy cups and snack containers to work. A coworker nabbed some of it, and I’m assuming someone else will grab the rest. Either way, I’m not taking it back home!

Trying to whip this place into shape for a family luncheon tomorrow. Expecting 12 and hoping the rain will have stopped. We like to have overflow onto the patio off kitchen. Then Sunday we are free to work on so many projects, DH got mulch delivered, my laundry is not caught up, and I'm excited to get my gardening things out and ready for more plants. Happy Spring!

Going down memory lane with mom's family history books. These are for her family and are much more complete than the ones for dad's family.
I had forgotten mom and dad's marriage license was in the book and their high school diplomas. Also, mom's baby book.
I ordered some archival sheets and family history sheets because mom kept writing new information on one page and her writing kept getting smaller and smaller.
Called sister today just because. She is retiring, effective May 30.
The doctor's visit for dad's dementia evaluation may not have been for naught. She now says dad has a lot of bad days and not many good ones. Guess it took the visit to open her eyes.

Cleaned in my office area to make space for me to scan mom's family history books. Ordered notebooks as hers are too crowded and will get larger when I make sheets for each individual family.

Just checking in since I've not had much to post here lately. I've been away from home seven of the last fourteen days. I'm exhausted. I did get home much earlier today than I anticipated, and that's nice. I made sure to do a decent job getting everything out of my car. Last week when I got home after three days gone, I didn't do that. I've been annoyed all week about the junk in my car. We do take a trip to see Miss Grandbaby tomorrow as today is her birthday. Her mom works today, so the gathering is tomorrow. Then, DD has a golf tournament about 90 minutes away on Monday. DH and I have decided to split the trip with him dropping her off and me picking her up. Anyhoo, there's nothing that's been done in my house regarding decluttering. I'm barely maintaining anything regarding daily routines, but it's close to a decent level. Organizationally, I'm making sure most of my work-work gets done. I've had a lot of extra added to me, and I'm a bit perturbed about it. There's a colleague--who tier-wise is higher than I am--who shirked a project that was due to the state oversight committee last week. My supervisor had to take it over and he had me help him with it. That's set me back a bit. Supervising these extra-curriucular activities (which are what's taken me out of town) is definitely taking a toll.

I am picking up and putting things away. I do really well for awhile, then it gets out of hand.
I filed and put away a lot of tax items, invoices, need to catch up the LLC, DD, and MIL again, think I'm 2 months behind.
Also high school classmates coming Tuesday, we are planning the next reunion, want them to check and see if we can have it here. I doubt it, not sure why not, but made the offer. So I need the place to look nice, hubs even mowed all he could today. I told him all the clutter on the countertop, I will just put in a tub and take to the basement Tuesday morning. We just don't have enough counter space.
I took all the curtains and things I have bought for the rent house to the basement. We won't be ready for them for quite some time so no point in taking them over. I look around and there ends up stuff everywhere, its going or being put away.

Happy Easter!
I'm hosting today and thanks to the encouragement of all of you I'm starting the day stress free.
Mudroom/laundry is clean with room for guest's coats and bags.
Kitchen is starting off clean-that will change once people wake up and I start prepping food. All papers that seem to accumulate on the counter have been dealt with. Particularly filing medical and dental info which seems to multiply on it's own. Plus I finally found a workable organizing solution for the utensil drawer. I have way more stuff than the average person, but it all gets used on a regular basis.
Dining room looks good. Just need to switch out the tablecloth to the Easter one.
Living room and hallway dusted and vacuumed, clutter free.
Work is always brutal leading up to any holiday but I've made it a point to spend the first 15-20 minutes when I get home putting stray items away before I sit down, no matter how tired I am. Laundry gets started before I leave for work at 2am, switched to the dryer after work and I try to have it folded and put away before dinner-although it has been known to languish in the dryer for an extra day.
Normally when I'm hosting a holiday dinner I'm prepping food and running around maniacally trying to make believe I don't live in a sty. And a few times lately I've had unexpected company and the house looked like I was expecting people.

We got so much done, it was a perfect weather weekend. Yard and garden and tree limb cleanup, even had a nice fire to get rid of all of it. The garden beds are ready for plants, DH did some of the mulching. And my Sat luncheon was great, we were able to eat outside on the patio. The inside of the house is EHH, but oh well. I have one large garbage bag of clothing to get to the donation place, may wait and ad a few items. Found some baby toys, good quality wood, that we had saved, and offered some to DD for baby girl. She was excited about that.

Finally was able to make some progress. With work stuff, busy weekends and snow it felt like we were making zero progress lately.
But we were able to get a lot done this weekend. Beautiful day on Saturday so the Hubs tackled the garage. It was so full it was embarrassing. Listed a bunch of random furniture and things on fb marketplace for free. Got rid of nearly all of it (4 chairs, a wood bench, light fixture, bike, trunk, small table). DH asked if he could have my mostly empty tool cart that I use for scrapbooking so I took that opportunity to clean out my craft closet. Lots that was tossed or donated.
While gathering that up I made another pass through my closet. Any sweaters that I didn't remember wearing in the past month went in the bags to go. Went through my old purses and found a good dozen to donate as well.
Between the garage stuff, the cardboard and trash we hauled out and the donation items we decluttered 63 items on Saturday. Current total is 576/2019

Need to get Easter decorations put away. Will mow the yard today. Work on patching dents/scratches on walls to hopefully paint this summer. This is mainly up the stairs and the hallway area upstairs. Still working on getting quotes for kitchen remodel. What a pain. We are researching cabinets because we don't want builder-grade, but we don't want custom made either. Looking for a good middle of the road.

Well done, everyone! We squeezed 2 weekends of recreation and entertainment into 3 days. Went to a concert Thursday, then camping and ATVing over the weekend. I am sore, puffy, and a bit sunburned, so I did something right. After socializing with neighbors for Easter, I had a weekend's worth of chores to do in 4 hours: 4 loads laundry, folded and put away
Unloaded the camper Unpacked Put away Easter decorations Prepared snacks for DH's lunches Put away Friday's Sam's Club items Switched out purses Unloaded and reloaded my work tote
Brought my suitcase up from the basement because I'm headed back out in the morning.

Commitments:
*Craft Class -- Wednesday *Class and Teach -- Thursday *Tutor -- Wednesday and Thursday
House and Personal: (Note these repeat a lot. )
*Maintain Progress *Keep up with laundry, dishes, routine chores *Organize at least two areas *Get to the gym *Eliminate a few items out of the house or at least add them to the donation box. *File the pile *Pay final bills for month -- have 2 that I am waiting on. *Pick up Easter Decorations and store for next year.
Crafts:
*Bead at least one item for upcoming show *Work on beaded project *Begin work on gift projects -- need 12 for next year. They take time and by starting now I hope to get them completed with time to spare. *Get trays filled and given to L for an activity
Looking over my list from the beginning of the month I realized that I have gotten quite a few items off it that have been there for a while. I have added several items to the donate box and thrown out a few things as well. This is ongoing and I know that more items will be added or tossed in the coming weeks. All of the pending phone calls have been made AC Maintenance has been done, scheduled errand and visits have been completed. All pending beading project from original list have been done. I will always have at least one incomplete project as I usually am working on something but I did all of the repairs and lingering projects that were waiting for attention. My first craft retreat is finished and looking forward toward the next one. All in all a successful month.
This morning has been hard getting started. I have managed to get a bill paid this morning, scheduled my annual checkups for this summer, updated the budget and not much else. Figured that I will get lunch and then get the few items I want to do today off my list. I hope to meet a friend at the gym later this afternoon so I need to get off the computer and get moving.

I spent the better part of the day helping DD rearrange her room. That girl definitely has hoarder tendencies but she's working on it.
There is a desk and a side table out on the curb for free. Her disgusting, stained rug has been sliced up and is in trash bags in the garage. Another full trash bag of clothes is set to go out the door. There's plenty more that needs to come out of there, but she had to stop and go to work.
I'm grateful she had to go-we moved the same furniture repeatedly in order to get the rug chopped up. Luckily we were able to toss it out the window. Only a few plants were traumatized in the process. I am exhausted.

I had a big bag of clothes and other misc. items sitting in my room waiting to be taken to Goodwill. I figured after 3 months, since I don't remember what I put in the bags, it was time to send them off. I took them to Goodwill on Saturday.
I painted my bedroom downstairs and ran out of paint so I have buy more. I'll wait for it go on sale and then finish that job. My plan is to get rid of the cheap furniture that was given to me and buy some nicer furniture to make it a nice bedroom to host visiting scholars who may be looking for a short-term rental and of course friends/family who come to visit.

Dropped off a bag of clothes at Goodwill. Many were NWT.
ETA: Mailer from Hospice says they are in need of 70's and 80's music on CD. I've got plenty of that I can donate so I'm getting a bag together for when I go to town the first week of May.

Going to my dad's tomorrow to continue to declutter his house. We are having a huge garage/barn sale at the end of May. He has a lot of stuff to get rid of and he can really use the money. My brother and sister are both helping too. Hoping to get Easter stuff put away at my house tomorrow as well as put together a weight bench DH bought 2 weeks ago. Need to continue cleaning out kitchen cabinets - remove all items, wipe down shelves and then put items back in that are actually used. Will donate items to my dad's garage sale that we don't use.

I managed to get several errands done this morning. Also emptied the freezer (still need to wipe it out and clean it) and moved the last few items into the freezer compartment of the fridge. This is a yearly chore as after losing the entire freezer and its contents after Katrina. For the last few weeks I shopped the freezer asap and plan meals according to what is available. I will continue to do so until most if not all of the contents of the smaller compartment is gone as well. Did a little reorganizing of areas these past few days as well. Managed to get a few additional items out of the house as a donation, trashed a few things and put a few things into the donation box as well. Need to get off the computer, get lunch and get back to work.

I need a serious kick in the rear to get things done as I just keep falling farther and farther behind. With last weekend being Easter and then out of town the weekend before that and I am planning on a long weekend next weekend if I don't get somethings done I think it would be best to just light a match.

Well, I didn't make a list, but I did walk three-and-half miles. Then I did an hour's worth of yard work.
Time to update YNAB.

Lucy and I changed the furnace filter, turned on the dehumidifer and retrieved cat toys from the basement. I'm not allowed to do anything in the basement without the assistance of Lucy.
Sadly, there was a death overnight on mom's side of the family. My sister received a text at 1:26 am that the husband of a cousin had died. This particular cousin was one mom said was like her daughter. I know mom would take her in her arms and comfort her if she was here. She did that when her first husband died.

Progress has been made, still a ton to do but actually got things done today. Shite pile has been tamed Old newspapers removed from chair in kitchen and taken out to recycle bin Paid some bills and mailed them YNAB up to date Kitchen table cleared of newspapers/mail and assorted crap.
Ran the dishwasher, still needs to be emptied Returned empty cans/bottles added $8.40 to the slush fund Quick grocery run for a few items Got cooler down from attic for next weeks trip Changed the sheets on the bed 3 loads of laundry, washed, folded and put away Between 3-4 hours of yard work, oh my aching back, and pulled buckets and buckets of weeds. I need to spray but it is too windy. I also expect that DD will be by soon. She called and they are stopping by late afternoon/early evening. I suggested pizza and she said they wouldn't turn that down.
