Wow my suburb is 21,000! I think I would like living in a small town (as long as there was wine and reliable internet). They changed some answers on the midterm this morning so I had to go through those again. It's done now.

Well I managed to scrub the freezer and fridge yesterday. I ended up exhausted so I didn't try to handle anything else. I bag of assorted things out to the trash and another will go out tonight.
I want to start with 1 lower cabinet tonight and see how I do.
Dad has another surgery on wed so I am staying at his place tues night.
Glad everyone is doing the best they can so keep up the good work.

I'm in a large suburb of a major metro area. Always a lot to do if one likes to be in crowds. Lots of festivals, concerts, and sporting events. I have gotten to the point that I prefer to avoid large crowds whenever possible and I also hate to deal with the hassle of driving there to search for parking.
Today I managed to prep a bit for future meals. Also made a batch of cookies. While going through the cabinets I located a few expired items which I trashed. Also have several books in the tutoring bag that I plan to donate later this afternoon. Will add those to my numbers once they are out of the house.
I have several good coupons from a local supermarket so I will be making several more trips there in the next several weeks. Some items for the holidays will be picked up earlier than normal to take advantage of this promotion. Also I have several basic items that I am totally out of or close to that point so I need to restock the basics. Hope to get that done tomorrow. Also need to pick up a RX in the morning. It is not my favorite thing to do but I do need to get these things anyway and why not get them while I have this generous offer available.
It has been raining most of the day today and if I didn't have to tutor I would not be leaving the house this afternoon. Good thing is that the library is not far and the worse of the rain has either passed or will be passing while I am in the library.
Need to get a few things done as I have to leave in a few minutes.

I'm another one who absolutely hates crowds. That's a problem with DH because he LOVES concerts. I try to go 2 or 3 times a year to humor him (when I don't have to get up at 6 the next day). I can't handle any more than that. snapdragon thanks to you I just (sort of) defrosted the freezer! It's old, I'm supposed to just let it melt/defrost. Since patience is not one of my many virtues (joke!) I usually just take the drawers out, wait 15 min, and take a meat mallet to it every summer. For some reason I forgot last summer, but it's done now! It's amazing how much more room there is now! Happily DH has rehearsal tonight. He doesn't approve of my method.

I don't like crowds either. Not even small city crowds.
Now that I will only attend concerts in small venues, I still like to arrive early and let the crowd fill in around me. At the end, I let the crowd disperse before I leave.
I don't even like crowded and loud restaurants.

Had a wonderful weekend. Welcomed dear grandchild #2, visited with DS who was in town for a friend's wedding, and had 5 glorious days off work to enjoy every minute of it. This is when I know it is time to retire or reduce hours.

We had 29 people over because my husband's brother and his family were visiting from Georgia. We were not expecting them until early November, so I worked all day Saturday to get the house in shape. I didn't think it was that bad, but anytime I have to dust, vacuum, wipe down surfaces, clean the refrigerator (My DH actually cleaned the fridge out), sweep and mop, do laundry, have countertops clean etc. etc. it just seems to be never-ending work. I also dumped all my utensils and wiped the drawer out. DH has a coffee grinder and the drawer and beans and crumbs in it. We vacuumed Thursday night, we both felt it smelled like dogs, so I told DH I would put Arm and Hammer Carpet deodorizer down on Sat and vacuum it up. Well, I put it down and vacuumed it up, but when DH came home he said the smell was still really strong, so we vacuumed again on Sunday am to try and get more of the baking soda power residue up. Oh and I had been in the middle of trying out different curtains in the dining room, so I had to take down the rejected trial pair and put the old valance back up. The change in the dining room curtains is going to wait until spring b/c we are going to do more extensive redecorating.
We had most of the food catered, but DH did two bags of shrimp, a veggie tray, cut up fruit and cheese and crackers and cold cuts. We started at noon for the Packer's Game, and lasts guests left around 10 pm. The stragglers were DD, her cousin N who is local, and the visiting cousin and his wife. It is great that they get along so well and want to be together, but I was wiped out and wanted to go to bed. DD also had 1/5 hours to drive home after she dropped them off. I am so tired today, and have about 24 minutes to go. I should linger at my MIL's b/c DH's brother and family are leaving tomorrow, but I think I will pick up my fur babies and go home.
Last night and this morning, I started to undo all the cleaning up I did short of decluttering. The toothbrushes and toothpaste, hair care items came out of the closet along with the ironing board. the dog stairs and dog bed came back out of the basement, and the blankets we use to cover the sofas went back in place. The basket of old towels also came out of the basement and was put back on top of the dryer - we use them to dry the dog's feet after a walk. We also put away 2 of the 4 folding tables we had out to hold the food. DH also brought wooden TV trays upstairs and they are in the laundry room. I will have to have him carry them back downstairs.
I just have a few dishes to do tonight. Ice bucket, aluminum pan , a few glasses I missed when I started the dishwasher. We took the Garbage out last night, but there is stull some cans to go out.
I managed to get most of my Halloween Decorations out. I have two sets of lights I want to put outside yet. I would like to get to the garage. My BIL's fixed our back door - they put in a new frame and re-hung the outside door. I have to run buy caluk so DH can caluk the door. It rained all day, so it will not happen today anyways. BIL said it is very poorly framed and that is why it rotted so easily.
I was considering re-doing my kitchen dining room area, but this layout is condusive to entertaining a large number of people. We also live on a corner, so the parking is pretty good too.
I have to work on my office and my garage and do some clean up work on DH's Accounting this week. I am just relaxing tonight.
Congrats on the new Grandbaby PlugginAway22!

Glad I could help you remember about delayed maintenance. We have a small dorm fridge in our office and when I get annoyed about the ice build up I usually grab a hammer and a flat head screwdriver and chip the ice until it's basically gone. My coworker typically uses her hair dryer in her freezer. Seems weird to me, but getting pieces of ice tossed in the trash is easier than collecting puddles of water with a towel imo.

My weekend was spent doing the usual chores including 8 loads laundry, filling, emptying and refilling the dishwasher, prepping eggs, salads and veggies for this week's breakfast and lunches, etc. I also: Scrubbed the toilet Dusted the living room and our bedroom Spent 30 more minutes in my home office/gym resulting in a half grocery bag of garbage and 3 more small things to the donate box Did more party prepping And, my fellow busy friends, not sure if you've utilized it yet, but I highly recommend grocery pickup/delivery. I used the pickup service after work yesterday and it is so convenient! I figured considering the time it took to add the items to my online list, it still saved me at least 30 minutes.

We just ordered a new oven (DH's treat!) from our local family-owned appliance store. It'll be delivered on Friday. Our current oven is 22 years old, and it doesn't close properly.
They had to special order it for us because they don't stock white ovens anymore. That surprised me.

Trying to keep productive and positive with this house situation and focusing on reading through books from the library / Kindle and sewing, as most everything else is already packed.
The kitchen is bare. I kept out the utensils and pots I thought I'd need for 3 weeks and am slowly using up all the food in the pantry and freezer. I pulled out some chicken stock that I froze years ago and made 2 batches of soup. I think tonight will be another salad and canned pineapple for dessert.
I figured out it takes me about 45-60 minutes of sustained effort to get the house ready for a showing so I'm less obsessive about keeping it perfect 24/7. If the kitchen is clean and the laundry is put away it takes less than 30 minutes.
I did bring home a box full of school papers and books from my parent's house that I need to go through, as well as some fabric and a new sewing machine, but overall not much coming in, not much going out.

It tests their listening comprehension skills. Here they have to listen to a text (twice) and answer 20 questions. So upset. Went into the kitchen and Bunny didn't appear to be breathing. Screamed for DH. Detected the faintest heartbeat and we hugged Bunny back to life. He started hopping around, and hopped into his cage for dinner (which had been served hours ago). He's clearly on his way out. He's 9.5 years old which is a VERY ripe old age for a dwarf rabbit. DH and I decided NOT to tell DD tonight. She's working nights these days, so there's nothing she can do now (ie make a vet appt). DH or I will call or text her tomorrow. It's clearly old age, and he's not suffering. He was happily hopping around in the garden earlier today, but he does it less frequently now, and he stays much closer to the house these days.
He also used to have the run of the house, but he's incontinent, nearly blind and nearly deaf. So now it's either the garden (when it's warm enough/not raining) or the kitchen.
ETA: Now I'm remembering that late this afternoon he suddenly ran upstairs to DD's room and was head-butting her door. DD moved out years ago. DH brought him back downstairs.
Now I'm thinking he wants to say goodbye to DD before he goes. :-( I have an appt with DD on Fri to take her out to buy her (long overdue) birthday gift. I hope Bunny makes it till then. Again, either DH or I will tell DD tomorrow. Feel like I just happened to walk into the kitchen at the right time to postpone the inevitable.

Sorry me again. I'd like your opinion please.
We planned NOT to tell DD because she's working nights. It's midnight here.
Now I'm thinking maybe it's NOT right NOT to tell DD (he's officially DD's bunny even though she moved out a few years ago). DD might choose to come here straight from work tomorrow morning. By NOT to tell her tonight, we're robbing her of that opportunity.
Thoughts please?

And me again, last time. I told DD. She asked us to take him to the vet tomorrow if he's still unwell. We told her DH can do that.
I'm glad I was honest with her.

Tell her.
She'll be devastated when she loses her long term pet whether she decides to come home tomorrow or wait. You can't change that.
She will be angry and hurt if you take the decision away from her. That's within your control.
ETA: I'm clearly behind since I now see that you already spoke to her.

Wow bean29! Having 29 people at pretty much the last minute is amazing! Yes! I've had that many people, sometimes a lot more, but I always had advance notice and arranged it all myself. That would be tough to pull of on short notice.

Aww... I hope your bunny is feeling better by now debthaven. I'm glad you contacted your daughter and let her know. My little dog is getting older and I could see her doing the same thing. She would be heartbroken (and so would I) if she couldn't say goodbye to me. On a brighter note, I took a load of stuff to the Goodwill. Yay!

Today's small chore completion Balanced my check book Picked up a couple items that DD had borrowed, brought them home AND put them away. I had less evening then I normally do since I stopped at DD's place to see her new couch. She is absolutely nutso for buying a light oatmeal colored couch with little children, a big dog (who is allowed on the couch) and a husband who is a farmer and always comes home from work dirty and dusty. She is thrilled to have her first new couch so I told her it looked nice, that I really liked it and came home.

Loved your reaction to the couch Sharon ! LOL Thanks everyone. Bunny seems better this morning! Ironically, DD had already arranged for a vet appt for this evening (before she heard anything). If he's unwell, DH can take him earlier.
This week - 10 Job 2 listening tests/Wed (they were absent last week)
- re-enter midterm marks/Wed
