Bunny has a very, very bad ear infection, and he's completely blind now. The vet said he may have had a small stroke as well (not sure why she said that). We have to give him meds with a syringe twice a day for 3 weeks. I can't manage the meds well but DH can. Hopefully Bunny feels better soon. Thanks everyone.

Sorry to hear that, Debt! Our new bed arrived yesterday afternoon! I took half the day off in order to meet the delivery men, launder the new protectors and old and new sheets (the bed is a split top, so special sheets are needed), and to do some general tidying up. When I moved the area rug in the hallway for the men, the filthy floor beneath beckoned. I shook out the rug, swept then Swiffered the area. Gross. I then took the rest of the afternoon off to watch The Devil Wears Prada. I love that movie....

Hope Bunny is better soon.
Iggy, sounds like you got yourself a comfortable bed.
I now have the estimate on the painting. I have to call him back to see if that included the paint itself and to get it scheduled. I need some time to get everything off the walls and out of the way for him to paint in one day. I really need to figure out some place I can go for several hours.
I see in the local weekly paper that DN3 is coaching girls' basketball at the middle school level and his maybe girlfriend is Drama. He told me they broke up but my sister said that didn't last very long but it's complicated.
ETA: Includes paint. He uses a brand I approve of. He is going to look at his schedule and call back with date.
I do like hiring people who live in my small town.

Glad the painting looks like it's working out TheO! I agree about supporting local business, that's why we buy our appliances at that store. Can you hang out at your niece's house? Or (MAYBE) plan a day out with your sister? Caught up on laundry and emails this evening. DD's BF went to the vet with her, so I didn't go because I thought 3 people was excessive. He was angry about having to wait. One more day then I'm off for six days (with marking this time). I'll post this weekend's list tomorrow.
The vet gave Bunny his meds tonight, and he's doing much better already!

I will probably find a coffee shop. Niece got all weird the last time I wanted to hang out at her house. DN3 has a dog that doesn't like women, so I can't go there. The only time I have been around the dog, all it did was growl at me. Sister says that is what he does to her. I don't think I can deal with my sister for an entire day.

Do they have a nice quiet sitting area? Grab a book from the shelves and just enjoy?

TheOtherMe- as someone who has been kicked out of her home 3-4x a week for 3 months I would look for a movie you want to see as matinee prices are good, check out the library or get a jump on some Christmas shopping. It’s also a good time to schedule a hair cut/color or get a coffee and do something luxurious like a pedicure. I always have my dogs with me so I’m limited to the park and driving around.

The library in the bigger city has a bed bug problem, so I won't go to that one. That means I will try the one in the town where dad lives. That does limit where I can go.
I don't do mani/pedis. The only Christmas present I buy is a Dairy Queen gift card for dad. There is a coffee shop in that town where I can hang out.

this week, I had a nearly empty trash bag at the end of the night before trash pickup, as roommate had replaced the bag when he brought the barrels to the curb. well, I cooked something stinky for dinner, and was putting that new bag out anyway. so, I brought the barrel to the basement and hit the chest freezer and the extra upright one. I threw out everything that had had freezer burn, or a date over a year old. there was a whole chicken at the bottom of the chest freezer that had a "best by" date of Feb 2017. oops.. the only thing I wasn't sure about was a turkey I had bought frozen. I think it might have been last year, not sure. I will thaw that at some point and see how it smells. if I pitch it at that point, whatever. I'll be decluttering in full force in a few weeks. when I get back from a week's escape the first week of November, I'll be notifying the roommate that I am listing my house in the spring. I've quietly been pitching stuff here and there, but nothing like what's going to happen after it's no longer an idea just in my head.

Since I have to get things ready for painting, there will be some decluttering of two book cases happening.

I love that movie too and had it on as well while I was doing stuff around the house. Touched up some paint yesterday. Today I have a lot to do after work: Laundry - had to Febreeze pants for DS#2 this morning; Paint shoe moulding for around kitchen cabinets; finish touch up painting on walls; return a pair of pants to Old Navy; sweep floors; and I'm sure there is more. I'm off work tomorrow. All the trim for the house is being delivered, as well as the remaining kitchen cabinets (replacements for damaged cabinets). I have a long list of things to do tomorrow too around the house. Kids are off school too.

Enjoy your time off debthavenDad and I had a rough time this morning. He had on the dirtiest shirt I've ever seen him wear. I know my sister was there yesterday and I know she makes him put on clean shirts. He was angry at me for making him change his shirt. I gave him two choices: change your shirt and go with me or leave it on and I will take your grocery list. I'm not taking him when he looks like that. I did get my driver's license renewed. Gave me a temporary license on paper that is good for 30 days.

I am pleased to have progress to report!
Eleven (mediumish) boxes and one big bag went out for Purple Heart pickup.
My dog buddy's dad and younger sibling (the one with the stitches from petting the cat then falling down the stairs) came over and hauled all the stuff up to their porch to be picked up with their stuff because it's too hard for trucks to negotiate my long weird driveway. I have good neighbors. My dog buddy came along to supervise (and got her tummy rubbed and gave me a nice little kiss).
It was a good day.
Sorry to hear about Bunny, debt. It's so hard when our pets are ill. I hope Bunny is feeling better soon.

Happy Friday, everyone! I bought 2 new articles of work clothing yesterday, and in exchange, plan on putting two unused items into the newly started donation box. Our party is tomorrow. All I have left to do is set up the camper bed for couple #2 staying the night, put the chili into the Crock Pot "cauldron" tomorrow, bake cornbread muffins (hm, I could probably do that tonight!), and make the popcorn snack mix. Here's the one I'm making this year: Peanut Butter Popcorn Party MixThis year I've made a point of making it easier on myself. DH will pick up deli sandwiches and croissants tomorrow instead of me buying meats, cheeses and rolls, 2 friends will make Jell-O shots, and a third friend offered to make breakfast Sunday morning for the slumber party crew. It's going to be a fantastic night. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
