We just purchased a new dishwasher, and it was installed on Tuesday. The previous one was nine years old. I'd had it fixed too many times, and we were just done with it. The new one cost $1050 which included installation. We purchased the quietest one we could find that was still under $1000. It has a (third) top drawer in which we can put many of the cooking utensils that we've been handwashing. I'm excited about that.
I've had a long work week, but it's been a good week. I have an additional job role, and it's doubled my work hours. It's been exhausting, but since I don't have any children who haven't graduated from high school, apparently that means I can work two full time jobs. The frustrating part is that I have this additional role because someone else is incompetent and not actually doing the job. He still works there. Union contracts and all. He's been put on a last chance agreement, but it's still frustrating for me to have all of this wokr to do and this other person just standing there like a deer in the headlights. Okay, vent over.
Today, DH wants to straighten up the garage. We've had a rodent problem, but I think it's been solved. We need to put stuff back that we'd moved out to expose hiding places. We need to sweep up all the rodent feces.
I have all of the regular decor switched out for fall decor. We do need to set some stuff up in the feront yard. Other than that, I just need to put stuff away in my house and wipe down counters today. That's enough of a list I think in order to still get some rest.

So today I'm going to attempt to turn my white fridge into a stainless steel one. Wish me luck! As in you bought a new one and are switching them out, or you're altering the white one?I'm altering a white one using stainless steel contact paper.

I took about 24 cans of paint to the local Haz Mat Collection. DH came home before I left, I asked if he wanted to review what I was taking and it was like hell no! He probably could have sent 10 more if he had reviewed what I left on the basement shelves. Also did his bank deposit and picked up my Walmart order. I need a nap & Dogs need walking.

Had another open house today and one schedule tomorrow, plus a showing. Tonight I am doing my best not to mess anything up to make tomorrow easier.
I got some free fake flowers today so I might take those out to the cemetery for my grandparents tomorrow.
The next few weeks are going to be a whirlwind of travel and work so I am hopeful we will get an offer soon and get into escrow.

I decluttered a lot today... all of the party stuff for DS1's birthday that has been sitting in my room awaiting his party. Of course, new presents came home with us. Mostly clothes and money though, perks of being 9 now. I am having a lot of feelings about my baby being halfway to 18 already.

Happy birthday to your DS nikiz628 ! We went to see my sister and her BF again this morning, with DS3. We got home at 2. I'm so relieved this week/weekend is over. I'll catch up with work/laundry early this week. NO plans!

Knee Deep in Water Chloe Is it a Bosch? I got one about a month ago, and I am a bit embarrassed to admit how enamored I am!

Update: 2 hour Open House today + 2 private showings which means I need to clear out for about 5 hours! I am thinking of taking the dogs up to a local lake that I haven't been to in awhile and camping out by the water for a bit. I'll need to bring food because I was planning to be home for lunch and now I'll need to be gone.

It took me months to get used to our new dishwasher (with a top drawer). I hated it. I still don't love it but I'm used to it. It takes MUCH longer to load cutlery item by item. But, it's also quicker to empty. We have a Siemens.
This week - QB/Sun
- see A/Wed And of course keeping up with work/kitchen/laundry.
I hope to see A during the week so I have one less thing to do next weekend. I haven't seen her since before our trip but we'll see. Sorry to harp on this but I'm still feeling extremely stressed out. I NEED a quiet weekend before we take DS3 back to college in the UK the following weekend.

Just returned from the bead show where I made a dent in my craft money. Picked up several items that I will make into something. Managed to get most of the items on my list but of course added a few sparkling items. Treated myself to a lunch out. Had a gift card and think I have enough left on it for at least one more lunch and maybe part of a second. Haven't done much of anything else today and may take the rest of today off as well. This week is going to be a busy one and I may have to do peopling every day. I have gotten use to having a few days alone each week and this coming week does not seem to offer any days like that. I sometimes do not leave the house a few days a week as well and I know that at least the next four days I will be out. startsmart -- Wishing you good news on the house soon.d debthaven -- Glad that you had a chance to visit with your DSis and now try to rest up from all of your activities. Knee Deep in Water Chloe -- I see that you are back in the swing of things. Don't wear yourself out trying to do everything at once. You will be of no use to anyone if you get sick. Sorry if I miss anyone. Think I will take a little nap now.

TheOtherMe , that quiet weekend WILL happen, I promise. Thank you. We have our "back to school" theater AGM on Thurs night (can skip), I'm taking DS3 to our dentist friend Sat at noon (can't skip), and a local party on Sat night (DH's band is playing but can skip or leave early).
Unlike 4/8 events this week/weekend which were NOT local (three were 45 min away one way, one was 2h there and 1.25h back.)

My sister will be at the airport the following week after their cruise, the night before she and her BF get their flight home. E said, we've seen more of each other this year than we have in years. So do me a favor, DON'T come to the airport. We had a fabulous time together this summer, we've spent a LOT of time together. We don't need to have "one more meal together" at the airport. E is 13 years older than me, and has been retired for years.
We'll see how it goes, but the pressure is off. I love my sister.

Five more boxes of the stash from Dad's house emptied. Also managed to sort, dispose of, put away, or otherwise deal with most of the contents. So far, five boxes of shredding packed up to date and six boxes and one bag of donatable items packed and ready to go. Still a lot to do, but some progress is actually visible now.
Doggy daycare next week for my fuzzy buddy (neighbor's dog) whose stay-at-home mom will be gone. She gets anxious and sad when she's left with just the cats for company, so after her dad and human siblings leave for work and school, I go over and get her and bring her to my house for a few hours, then take her home to greet her family when they return. I hope to get a little more done while she's visiting, though I don't expect she will be of much help, not having thumbs.

I gave our tenants a big box of Christmas decorations, also a tree skirt, and bulbs, then a Thanksgiving wreath, and some Halloween lights. I also threw away an old wreath and other items, but I hardly made a dent. Going to go through it all again.
There are still all kinds of building supplies in the furnace room downstairs I need to do something with, it contains the furnace, water heater, 2 shelving units with leftover stuff, all my decorations, a Christmas tree we leave up and store there. The sump pump, its a pretty big room, 15 by 15 at least I would say. Then beside it outside of the room we have a bigger area filled with clothing racks and shelving units of bedding and anything and everything. Behind it is a big box full of all kinds of pipes they used, 7 years and the stuff is still there. I need to get it out of there, we will never use it.
Hubs one garage still has stuff from out move, I need to go through it and get rid of any and all of my things out there. We have stuff everywhere and even when I get rid of things there is just so much its awful. Actually with Toys R Us closing it stopped DD from buying piles and piles of things, but we still have a room down there at least as big as the furnace room full of stuff.
I got rid of 2 batteries, found 3 more in hubs garage, and there are 2 big tires from the motorhome, going to make him load that stuff this week, I'm hauling them off. I need to organize in my garage again, I know there are lots of bottles and cans of stuff that need to go. I was on a roll earlier this spring then stopped.

Packing a 1500 sq ft house sucks when you live by yourself. BUT I'm very grateful that even though it's the size it is, it doesn't have the contents of something that size. There's only framed art and a steptansu in the third bedroom, a dresser in the second bedroom, CDs and a bicycle in the dining room, and almost nothing in the attic. The only rooms that really need to be packed are my room, the kitchen, and the main bathroom.

LOL at taking an hour, debthaven ! Yes, I know about one-dish/one-pot meals, and use my Crock Pot which I dislike cleaning as well. One of the articles said some people use dish-washing time to reflect or meditate, or for gratitude. I need to redirect my attitude. Going out with friends tonight, so there won't be any dishes at least for one night. Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!
I don't mind washing the things that need to be hand-washed because I have a Dishmaster faucet. It has a brush-on-a-hose that dispenses the soap when you push a button and rinses when the button is not pushed. I love it. My folks had one from the time I was very small, and when I bought my first house, they gave me a Dishmaster faucet of my own. I've had one ever since. What I don't like is putting the dishes away once they have been done either by me or by the dishwasher. I have to give myself a real pep talk to get them put away so the dishes that need washing don't pile up waiting for room in the dishwasher or sinktop dish drainer. If there was a fun gadget that I could use to put the dishes away, I would probably dislike that task less. I only have a fun gadget that washes dishes. dannylion, those are pretty! I never knew such a thing existed! Speaking of gadgets, after seeing a Home Depot commercial for fancy refrigerators, I told DH they need to invent something that will store and cook food all in one. Or maybe something which will cook then do the dishes afterward?

I told myself if I got all of my chores done Saturday, I could relax yesterday. It went pretty well: Dishes-emptied and partially refilled the dishwasher, did some hand-washing including the cast iron skillet
5 loads of laundry, including sheets Swept and Swiffered the main floor Wiped down the kitchen appliances Scrubbed our bathroom vanity, toilet and tub.
Tossed a few more things into the Goodwill box Tote bag of magazines for my sister to the truck Piled up the egg cartons to send to a friend tomorrow Boiled eggs, made tea, compiled this week's menus Clipped coupons And yesterday I read on and off for about 4 hours, resulting in tossing 6 or so old industry magazines, and a few other item at least a year or two old.

I disposed of the cups from the anniversary party last night. Finally got them to my SIL's house. That was the intended destination.
The Goodwill pile on the bed in the spare bedroom continues to grow.
I will see what I can accomplish this week. I keep plugging away.

So my fridge project got sidetracked. ISO was pickling and freezing veggies I brought back from my parents. When the kitchen was cleared out enough I realised that I couldn't easily remove my fridge door handles so I had to get some spray paint for those. We'll see if I have an opportunity this week, maybe in bits and pieces after work.

They call them restaurants. They tend to be pretty pricy.

I love a Bosch, have had 2. Both have been in kitchen/dining with open concept, you hardly hear anything, the insulation on them is awesome. Will never have anything else.

Every single piece of paper has been filed, shredded or recycled. Two trash bags of clothes are scheduled for pickup on Wednesday. At least 50 random items have been tossed or are in the donation bin. Laundry is washed, dried, folded and put away. A friend just stopped by and mentioned how clean the kitchen looks...it's just the absence of paper piles. They're the reason it always looks cluttered. I've been keeping track of life in my planner. The fact that it isn't empty after the first two weeks is a record for me. Feeling accomplished .
